This is not a well-crafted movie to begin with they choose to have as its theme "love" but not a mature idea of love the well-meaning type but often mistaken idea of "love" with corny ideology backing this all up. there's lots of teen angst that goes off the scales and there are lots of twists and turn-heels which makes this movie not that bad but themes that were better explored in the last two season are left as just background noise for romance, I guess there's no more to explore in this setting and "gundam universe" for us the viewers.
So not really recommended.

they made an entire short movie to show stuff we already knew about and how a girl got her colored hair (really stupid to say the least)
there's very little to say about this really. Mecha battles are really slow and dumb (which it also means that asuka as a character is less than she used to be).Rebuild of evangelion as a whole diluted eva to be little more than commercial for their products let it be mecha plamo, books and stuff in other words just money instead of anything artistic really going for it and after the 90 millions reunited by the last evangelion movie ...

it's pretty much telling how low the standards truly are in the anime fandom. This is not a "good" gundam series much less a "good" mecha series. there's absolutely no coherent development of its themes. what exactly G-witch wanted to accomplish? The Privatisation of War? well it doesn't explore it all except to make some jokes about it in the first season and then mention here and there that there are stockholders of certain technology just to later been dropped entirely in the final episode for a cheap resolution.
what about war? what war? there's conflict on Earth to be explored but it's left off-screen ...

I couldn't say this movie was disappointing, to begin with I wasn't even aware this movie was supposed to be released this year. nonetheless Dragon Ball super: super hero does what this lackluster franchise does best which it is basically milking the fans through nostalgia. You got new useless transformations that are going to become completely obsolete by the next installment, the new power ups are lazy (the power ups were done automatically with no training), the new androids and cell max are just android saga 2.0 , plot and characters became an afterthought since z so that hasn't changed I guess and the fight

1/3 of this movie isn't that bad, actually it is quite good if we compare this with the disaster that 3.0 was but don't be fooled, later on one character is written out for no reason other than psychological manipulation (has its own page on wikipedia because this trope has been done so many times that well it's become a damn trope example) and the movie went downhill after that and 3.0+1.0 became a complete mess of pseudoscience, nonsensical vaguely Christian babble, and people infodumping stuff the previous movies should have established earlier and not in 20 minutes (Anti-universe, Eva imaginary, bits of information
