This is the best manga I've read in 2024.

I love diving into stories that I do not have a good understanding of. When I saw this story pop up on my feed, I thought, oh neat this is something I would've never thought of to read when it comes to the manga. After HS, my interactions with people who are autistic, neurodivergent, mentally challenged, etc is very limited, so I thought, lets dive in and see what this story is about, and wow did it open my eyes to a lot of what is around me, and now makes me think, maybe I am surrounded ... by these people and I just dont know it, and made me question myself if I had something in me as well based off the characteristics and habits the two main boys go through in the series.

The two leads, Kobayashi who is portrayed as somewhat neurodivergent and Keisuke who is autistic, form a bond over their understanding of not understanding. Kobayashi has a hard time studying, following tasks and getting frustrated easily by his own actions, and Keisuke who keeps a notebook of how to act properly in situations cause he cant understand the norm. The blossoming friendship between these two is incredible. Kobayashi is sweet and caring to Keisuke, cause he knows Keisuke cant necessarily control what he says and how he acts and Kobayashi might be the only person who can understand that. Keisuke cherishes Kobayashi as his first real friend, and is constantly in a state of confusion on how to properly act with him, but its cause he cares so much that he doesn't want to lose his friend, like past interactions with other people when he was growing up.

I cant speak on the accuracy of their characters, but something clicked in my head when reading this thinking to myself, wow I have interacted with these people in the past before, and I wish I could've changed something I said or did when doing so, and when a story makes me do that, thats how I know its good, thats how I know its a 10. I cant wait for more chapters to see how everything comes to, cause a story like this rarely comes along for me.

This manga from the jump is pretty much a typical hentai plot. Chick has a lot of sex with a bunch of dudes, and then the self insert nerdy dude gets lucky and magically has the best dick in the world, thus starts the storyline of, do I need just 1 good dick, or a lot of okay dick? I think this story could've been much better as a college plot instead of high school, but through 13 chapters I dont think it has done anything that would be considered bad, but at the same time, the streamline story seems like I can probably predict ... the next few conflicts based off the storytelling so far. I think if you are looking for something smut related, there are better options but this is certainly not the worst thing I've read. Ill probably read some more just to see what happens in the coming weeks and hope it proves me wrong!

Slow Loop on the surface looks like a pretty simple cute girls do fishing anime, and while it does that, it also covers a topic near and dear to my heart and that is the loss of family member and finding happiness in the activates you spent together.

Story:
I felt the story did a great job and bringing in the emotional moments of losing a family member and mixing the fun of fishing/camping/cooking. I know a lot of people turn to SoL for good vibes aspect of this genre, the mix of the serious and fun felt right to me. The cooking aspects of the ... show were a lot of fun as well. Simple recipes for preparing fish and side dishes were a great touch to a show like this.

Characters:
The main character Hiyori loses her father and her mother remarries and low an behold, she gains an upbeat and comedic step sister. The dynamitic of these two was very Rin & Nadeshiko-esk from Laid Back Camp. Straight laced big sister and over the top little sister. It was a lot of fun seeing these two interact on screen, nothing groundbreaking, but an overall good time.

Sound:
OST was nice. Not LBC levels but the omniance of the mood was set and was fitting.

Animation:
It was fine. I am not really looking to get blown away by a show like this in terms of visuals but in no way was it appalling.

Enjoyment:
I watched this week to week and was the first show I sought after on Friday's. Its nice going into the week on good vibes and a smile on my face.

Overall:
If you a SoL junkie like I am, Slow Loop is treat. Loved the mix of fun, fishing, cooking and sometimes pretty hard hitting emotions, especially for someone like me. I think the show is a solid 8/10 and would recommend it to a lot of people looking for something to relax too and have fun.
