If you're looking for an anime with an abundance of characters, excellent art style, and even better sound design. This is for you.

However, there are downsides, there's a lack of character development for the most part and that's my biggest gripe with it. You have this strong female lead "Asuna" who really drops off the radar halfway through and then becomes replaced with more female characters which diminishes the development seen between her and Kirito.

As for story, it's good overall until you reach Fairy Dance. Once you reach Fairy Dance the story takes an awkward sharp turn for the worse because it brings ... the anime to borderline ecchi which is not what this anime is about. I'm now currently watching SAOII and it's vastly improved the story.

Art style is absolutely fantastic. Be prepared for a lot of sun glare and sunsets because you will be mesmerized by them. Same goes for sound, the music sets the mood really well, it's almost on par with Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, but just like that series, it repeats the same songs throughout the series.

STORY/CHARACTERS:
So there's this girl that wishes to have sex with 100 guys. But she's subconscious of her "lady parts" and has trouble getting passed guy #1. By the end Yamada changes a bit and the show becomes a little more serious. This anime has a lot of funny moments but can be serious in some parts that make you relate to the characters. This isn't your average Fan Service Ecchi. It's a romantic comedy first and the characters are great. The relationships between Yamada, Kosuda, and Tekashita are the best in the series. The only bad part of this anime is the last episode. It's ... split into three sections and tends to drift too far away from the manga.

ART:
Looks spectacular, the animations are clean and colors are sharp. Backgrounds can seem a little grainy at some parts but it's not much of a bother.

SOUND:
Get ready for a lot of music, and I mean a lot. There's almost always some kind of background music playing. Although the constant music can get annoying it matches the mood perfectly each time. Funimations dubbing was spectacular which is why I gave this such a high score. Yamada's voice was the best and it matches her character.

ENJOYMENT:
This anime's pace never gets dull, there's rarely any build up between the jokes and you'll be laughing through it.

Overall, I liked this anime despite the fact I'm not really a fan of ecchi's but this one is different; it's funny, entertaining to watch, and it lacks fan-service panty-shots....until the last few episodes. I would definitely recommend this anime and it's associated manga to anyone interested in ecchi.
