This is genuinely a masterpiece in the anime industry and a highly underrated piece of fiction, which is quite sad because everyone I’ve recommended this series to has said that it was literally a 10/10 experience for them.
What’s interesting about this series is that every episode is unique and something different, and it only gets better with each one. Especially episodes 21 (A World With No Sadness, Baby) and 24 (Different Dimensions). In both of these episodes, you will question one thing: What makes us who we are? Are we defined by our choices, our past, or the different life paths we could have taken?

I always denied this anime due to its animation style, but I thought, "Why not give it a chance?" So I did, and yeah, it was a beautiful experience. Now it’s one of my favorite animes of all time. I truly love the characters (especially Nakamura), and I hope a season 2 will be announced someday in the future, though that’s probably not going to happen, considering the hate it received when it first aired in 2013.
The rotoscoping in the anime scares a lot of people off, but in my opinion, it was the best way to animate this kind of series. I honestly can't ... |
