Like most Trinity Seven fans I'm sure the desired result of waiting 2 years for more of the show was another 12 episode season. Instead we got this movie which wasn't too bad.
Story 6:
Nothing really stands out about this movie story-wise. The concept of the bad guy in this one is decent (although I might be underscoring based on how much I've seen that concept used recently). The usual cast of characters returns and you get a little bit of everything the show offered in its first season.
Art 9: I've always loved the art in this show, perhaps more than I
...
ought to. Always been a fan of that darker lighting and darker colors. Regardless of any bias there's always something to be said of the "sun" animations and how much textures and colors abruptly change during breakdowns. Character art is great as always.
Sound 8: The sounds are all just so appropriate for this show. From the combat sound effects to the background music in pretty much all situations the sound here is fitting and adds to the appeal of this movie.
Character 7: If this movie was longer or perhaps split into two parts or just given more time for anything I'd give this movie an 8 like I gave the show. The biggest problem I have here is that the movie basically only used half of the characters well and the others were just barely given enough time to remind us of what they do.
Enjoyment 7: I'm biased here too as I really just wanted more for this series than a movie. The movie itself is fun to watch and a must-see for Trinity Seven fans. I'll say the action in this movie is intriguing upon initial presentation but ends up being too hurried. Ultimately its the usual interactions we've grown accustomed to from 12 episode series that deliver much of the enjoyment in my opinion.
Overall I would recommend this series to any Trinity Seven fan, its a must see in the sense that its the first bit of anime we've gotten from this series in 2 years and for an hour long movie (which is really just 45 mins of new stuff) it watches quickly. A lot of the movie does seem somewhat rushed but I suppose that's a given considering time constraints.

Let me begin by saying I wish I could rate this show a 12/10 in all categories except Art that can stay at 10.
This show was the anime of the year for me, and that's coming from a huge dragonball fanboy and huge Food wars fan.
What this show did so well, particularly in the 2nd season, was taking the time to highlight and make full use out of its large cast of characters. Amazing story and great battle sequences aside, the show in its 2nd season did a much better job with explaining plot concepts and the characters all improved
...
with the introduction of Dazai's story and the Guild. Some (myself included) would be reasonably annoyed with the beginning of this season as it decided to tell Dazai's past instead of keeping with the current events of the present story line (especially considering the suspense that 1st season left off with). This ended up being a small issue as, the backstory was awesome, and the main story that resumed was improved because of it. From the point the show resumed the present plotline it just got better with each episode, from 3-way conflict giving way to an unlikely partnership to a final fight worthy of the show's 2 season long buildup finishing with a peace tainted by the juicy plot-hook of yet another more menacing foe, this is how i like my anime, 12/10 would recommend to anyone.

Without letting the awesome 2nd season influence my judgement too much here, I have to grade the first season lower for a multitude of reasons made clear by the sheer improvement seen in the second season. I'll not discuss any plot elements because the show uses mystery very well and to its success. If memory serves the first season follows our protag MC Atsushi and the entire season for the most part is focused on him. That being said the show did a very good job of telling his story but it did repeat a lot of concepts/explanations. I'm not a
...
particular fan of someone feeling sorry for themselves, deciding not to feel that way anymore, and then go back to feeling sorry. The problem here is that the first season did quite a few things this way. Aside from that the show itself was very much enjoyable, soundtrack work here was done well, art/animation was splendid and the cast of characters specifically in this season were also entertaining (Kunikida and his mannerisms contrasting with Dazai's care-free nature, etc). Overall the 1st season is very much a show I would recommend and especially so if the intent was to watch the second season.

Tokyo Ravens isn't a particularly ground breaking anime nor is it spectacular/must-see in any particular category. That being said, the show itself was a good watch, I rated enjoyment as 9/10 mostly because prior to this show, I hadn't really seen combat sequences involving magic used SPECIFICALLY the way this show did. The combo of mantras plus talismans plus magic ability was nifty and for the action spread throughout the show I give the anime in general a 7/10. I do think the anime peaked a little after the mid point (episode 16-18) because the fight scenes there were really good but
...
beyond that no particular character or single plot event stood out to me. There was a couple of things i felt were unanswered in terms of reasoning but I'll let it slide, the show was fun to watch.

As a regular fan of mecha anime and an audiophile, I originally decided to watch this show as I had heard good things about the soundtrack. Coming into the show I had reasonable expectations as I had hoped it would be the unique intersection of quality show and amazing soundtrack I had hoped for. To these expectations I was met halfway and found myself in the middle of an average tier anime given a great soundtrack.
To break down this show into the review categories I'll be brief about each one
Story 7: I don't really feel good about giving it a 7 but
...
the beginning of the show was just so great I can't get that landing castle nuke scene out of my head. The story itself was par for the course at best, a story of a fake assassination turned into "just cause" for a "righteous" war didn't really stand out to me especially given the execution of the plot. Any plot twists or deviations I would/should/could have expected were downright pedestrian and it left me feeling that I was watching the show, just for the sake of watching it.
Art: I'm not really big on reviewing art in anime, as long as its not some overuse of horrible CGI and the animation is decent I'll give it a pass so 9 here means I liked to view the anime
Sound: Ah yes the best part, 10/10. Simply put in the absence of a future without more Nujabes music (RIP) I look to Hiroyuki Sawano for quality sound work on shows and man does he deliver here. THat nuke scene in the beginning was absolutely insane, blew my mind away and the music couldn't have been better for the occasion. If ever there was a reason I would wanna watch this show again or recommend it to a friend it would stem largely from Sawano's heavylifting on the soundtrack. I very highly recommend googling or searching for the Aldnoah soundtrack on youtube.
Character 5: I'm gonna skip this part as there's just nothing distinguishing about the characters.
Enjoyment: Ah yes the most subjective score, I gave it a 7 cause of the soundtrack, good visuals, and decent action/combat scenes. This is likely where I'd recommend the show to others so in that sense I would say sure give it a go.
Overall 7: yeah its not a stellar anime but its okay. Would i recommend it to a friend? If they liked mecha and wanted a good OST then sure otherwise probably not.

After being told about this anime by a friend, I was expecting just another vampire themed anime and nothing more. I'm glad to say in HU (Hellsing Ultimate) case I was very much wrong. If you're reading this review then you've likely avoided the incorrect regular Hellsing and come straight to this-the better anime adaptation. That aside HU stands on my list of all-time favorite anime and its because of its story and characters, namely Alucard, Sir Integra, Seras, and Father anderson. The other characters were also fittingly done and worth nothing but not in the league of these 4.
...
These 4 were given plenty of attention and much development throughout the story and it was particularly noteworthy to see Seras go through much of the show without submitting to the basic vampiric need for blood, it felt very much appropriate and fitting that she broke her series long fast by drinking the blood of her dying comrade just to avenge him and it felt genuinely good to see Seras thrown into situations without the nearly omnipotent ALucard bailing her out all the time. Speaking of, Alucard was my favorite character in the series, in part due to his badass nature and overwhelming power but also due to the exploration into his behaviour during battles and how in the end he wasn't truly as invincible as one would think. Granted he didn't die despite the infusion of that schrodinger's character he was genuinely humbled by the infusion of her blood and had me believing it was over for our favorite vampire. Last but not least we have Father Anderson my only regret about this character was that he died off in the end but my word was his journey a good one. To spend all his life as the most powerful and best suited "counter" to Alucard only to find out in the end that even after giving himself wholly to god that it still was not enough to best his nemesis. Every time he and Alucard confronted each other it was a highlight moment and the series did a great job not allowing the true power differential amongst ALucard and Anderson be revealed until the very end. All-in-all this anime was very well done and I'd easily recommend it to any casual anime fan but not to anyone who doesn't like seeing blood, too much in this show to overlook!

Before I type my review I just need to discern the three "categories" of anime as the way I see them. There are "serious", funny, and fanservice. Now if i'm reviewing a funny anime or a fan service anime I am rather lenient if not very lenient on grading each individual aspect of the show for obvious reasons. But when i decide to watch a "serious" anime, that is one that wholeheartedly attempts to present a good, original, and well put together story/show then I have to grade with discrimination. That being said for this anime I have very little to
...
discriminate against, as it was just that good of a show for me. Fair warning, I am writing this review a good year or so removed from watching the show so perhaps my exact memories aren't spot on. That being said every time i think back to this show I have nothing but fond memories. The story itself felt fresh, original and deliberate, there were rarely any sharp left turns that detracted from the show and the pacing of each episode felt very appropriate. Though in the end the main trio goes their separate ways, wistfulness doesn't stop me from appreciating how great the story was. As far as art goes I would give it a 10/10 as it just plain and simple looks good. But there's more to it than that. There's the countless action sequences and well choreographed fight scenes that amplify the value of the art in this show. You have a show where 2/3 of the main cast wield swords in two radically opposite manners and yet the show found a way to do justice to both! That facet of the art alone would merit a 10 let alone the countless others that make this show stand out on a visual level! I could write endlessly about the sound but basically Nujabes (may he rest in peace) is a genius. His work in general is phenomenal but to use it throughout the show? Of course the sound gets 10/10. As I don't remember the specifics about each character to a T, I will say that this portion of my review might be lacking, but I maintain a score of 10 just because the characters were almost always well-fleshed out. The main trio in particular was very well characterized, remaining dynamic throughout and development via story events and flashes into their respective pasts shed light into the nature of each character. Combine all these factors and it's a natural result to give enjoyment 10/10 along with an overall score of 10.

The psychological genre is one that I am quite fond of. For me animes that have this tag are generally high quality in my opinion and I am often prone to giving these kinds of animes scores higher than they ought to really be. That said I waited a few days after finishing this series to write my review and I just can't find a place in the anime that was objectively not good. To get the easier parts of the review out of the way, Art and Sound were all up to date and both visually and audibly appealing. Characters
...
and their designs were very appropriate (Makina with the childlike personality hence childlike form, etc) and the voices for each character were done well. The background music was dynamic and fit the scenes of each event well, though if I had even one criticism here it's that Makina's voice is straight annoying.
Now then the Story (9)
Psychological genre animes like this often get the viewer thinking and keep it that way to retain their interest in the show---its how they get their viewership. Much like the time-honored formula of fanservice attracting views, a complex and well written plot is the primary hook here. You would think in the first couple of episodes that the anime would very easily and could very easily be just another ecchi involving one male and multiple female co-leads but as the MC interacts with each character and helps to resolve the lingering issues of their troubled pasts the anime really shines with stories associated with each character getting progressively darker/complex. That aspect of the show is quite possibly my favorite one from this series. Now that being said I gave the story a 9. That is because even though I was a huge fan of the almost episodic nature of each girl's story I did have issues at various points with either the time spent or the resolution given to each female character. The first one would be Yumiko's story as I felt it was altogether too short and the resolution was way too easy. This aside I was very much enthralled by the story and genuinely wanted to see the next episode ASAP.
Character (10).
THE CHARACTERS WERE SO WELL DONE AHHHHHHHHHHH
okay excuse that outburst, like I said I'm a big fan of the characterization in this show on a character by character basis only. By this I mean 90% of the characters had unique personalities and histories but it does not mean I think every character was given optimal time. I'm giving this a 10 and not a 9 because for this category i'm judging content and leaving development an issue with the story. That being said I've got a few obvious favorites:
Yuuji: THe MC, the OP male lead who manages to get the job done perfectly despite his means and his obstacles what a guy. Now in most cases I'd not be a fan of this but his character was so damn focused that even the light bits of humor he'd work in were hilarious by comparison. Like if this character was made to be full of himself or present any sort of superiority complex then I'd hate it. Instead we get the cool under pressure driving force that the anime really needed in order to be successful.
JB: This one's a shocker even to me but representing the "middle man" of the series up until the very end is actually a role I think was very hard to fill and do properly. The show could've easily made JB one dimensional and have her stick firmly to one side or the other but in JB we saw someone decidedly set on following rules and orders but at the same time encounter regular and frequent conflict with how those order were to applied to and via Yuuji. I think maybe if the viewer was given the backstory of her association with Yuuji at some point in this series and not later until Meikyuu then the connection would have been better but regardless I really enjoyed her character.
Makina: For as much as her voice makes me wanna bash my head on the table, she's such a great character. The high-pitched young heroine/part time "marine" was very energetic and what the show needed at times. I thought it was altogether stupid of her to leave Yuuji during her episode and get that damn apple plant but she couldn't help it and that's exactly what i'd expect of a character like hers.
Overall if i was asked whether or not I'd recommend this series to a friend then I would say yes if and only if the friend was interested in this GENRE/KIND of show. The show's brief moments of lighter story are juxtaposed very well with the larger moments of horror, confusion, anger, sadness, etc but the show itself maintains a very dark feel about it, especially the backstories. A casual viewer would probably not like the show but to anyone who can stomach the violence and horror they'd love it. 10/10

I'm not even sure where to begin with this Anime, It has been an EXTREMELY long time since I have sat down and watched an anime this funny and enjoyable. I recommend watching Beelzebub if you like:
Action
Badass MC
Strong/badass female MC's
Downright funny and silly sequences of events
Great soundtrack
Great voice acting
great characterization
The list goes on....
...
Story: 9
So I gave this anime almost perfect marks on everything and the story is the only part in the show that I could nitpick on. Let me be upfront, Beelzebub is very much an anime that doesn't take itself seriously and is meant to elicit out loud laughter and enjoyment via its hilarious series of events and character interactions. By that very nature its story shouldn't be reviewed as harshly in this particular category. That being said as the anime is more or less based off the manga, it is not without filler. The filler in this case is actually pretty damn funny so I give it a pass. The reason I don't give the story a 10/10 is because of the ending and because of the time between major plot events due to the filler. Without giving spoilers, after watching the show for its 60 episodes at various points one would expect plot development and furthering, it was often the case that filler would ruin the stream of events and almost as abruptly return to the main story. Again this filler was enjoyable so I won't call it "bad" just poorly placed. As for the ending, well its the kind of ending that left me wanting more out of it rather than what we were given. Perhaps this is just me being annoyed at not having any more episodes to watch but I was hoping for a more concrete ending if that makes any sense.
Art: 10
I'm not the biggest art critic, I don't need the highest end character models/drawings and the most vibrant of backgrounds, all i ask for is artwork that is appropriate to the show's nature and for that I give Beelzebub a 10. A non-serious anime that generally utilizes bright colors is just what I wanted to see and even in the darker, demonic sequences the color choice was always appropriate. All the backgrounds for most any setting in the anime were also well drawn as were the characters and any of their discerning visual characteristics.
Sound: 10
The show had a lot of intros and endings and for the most part they go 50/50 in my book, some were really good, some were really bad. For that reason I won't consider them in this particular review on the show's sound. What I will consider is anything that happened inside the show and sounds used. So first things first, I thought the demonic soundtrack that played whenever Oga got serious was badass. Idk when i'll get tired of it but it's just so good and so appropriate. All the funny sequences had great fitting music, all the action scense had great fitting music, basically all the music choice and sound fx here were on point. The highlight of course being any of the fight scenes or Oga's demonic soundtrack.
Character: 10
There's just so many silly characters in this show its amazing. Whether its battle hungry Tojo, Himekawa's split personality, Oga's demonic personality, Baby Beel's adorable yet troublesome one, all the characters had something to set them apart from each other. Yes a large chunk of the characters were thugs ---- they come from a school of JD's. But in the way Kanzaki was a JD, Himekawa was differently. Each one had his own style and execution, you'd think having a group of characters with the same backgrounds would be a bad thing but here it wasn't. Each and every major to moderate character had something to set him/her apart and for the most part went through significant character development of some kind.
Enjoyment: 10
This anime is freaking hilarious no question about it. If I had to drop two names to watch out for in this anime it would be Alaindelon and Furuichi. Just look for these two and you'll see why I rate this anime 10/10 for enjoyment.
Overall: 10
Minor story annoyances aside, and filler distractions withstanding, this anime is the first funny anime I've ever given a 10 and its for good reason. Though a lengthy anime, each episode watches very well and leaves you refreshed in some way due to the sheer volume of comedy in this show. If you have the time, do yourself a favor, watch this anime!

Where to begin with this, shall we say "unique" anime....
***SPOILER ALERT READ WITH CAUTION*****
Alright I guess i'll start with the first category Story:
So before I write anything let me say that I write this review in the context of what this anime is supposed to be, a lighthearted/comical story filled with ecchi scenes, big breasts galore and wacky storylines and events/logics. This being said I still have to give the story an abyssmal rating of 3. Why 3 you ask because 3 represents poor and that is the first word that comes into my head about this anime's story. So we start
...
off simple enough with our soon to be MC just tryna peep on other women, we very quickly find out he loves big breasts and then we have our female lead show up and basically be the same generic hot/shy girl that makes most viewers gag. Things don't really go up from there but as lenient as I can be in many respects on an ecchi anime like this, I can't excuse the sheer lack of time and effort put into the story. In the simplest terms as i can use, the story is basically this: Male protag meets female protag, both end up as "co-pilots" for a giant fighting robot that gets stronger based on how charged the male protag is on erotic things/thoughts (i.e groping the female protag) they fight bad guys, bad guys lose and come back stronger, both sides trade advantages over next few episodes with the "antagonist" introduced after the first "battle". Main protag "dies" and female protag gets knocked out. Insert swerve sound here and bam now we follow a whole new female protag and new male protag, repeat events of first protag couple until penultimate battle where main protag couple comes back, two couples team up to fight bad guys. Bad guys become good guys and government becomes the new bad guys. At the end everyone says sorry, former bad guys go away happily ever after and good guys are at peace the end. Did that sound boring and generic to you? Good now you know how i feel.
Art: 8
Alright so we all know this is an ecchi we watched the anime for fanservice and some humor that much is understood. That being said the art in this anime is actually pretty nice IF we're talking solely about the chracters. By this I mean each alluring woman offered as fanservice is very well modeled and on the whole they all very appealing and good fanservice. Personal favorite of course has to be Kyoko just because her look in general was great with close seconds being Chieko and Moriko. Of particular note is details given to Ritz's eyes, and the various energy based attacks---they were all exceptional as well. The backgrounds did the job well and the robots were passable albeit very clunky in design. I suppose that was the intention here so in that light I'll give the art in this anime a very decent score, my only regret is kiriko and shouma had to take over for a few episode because they aren't as good as Kouichi and Kyoko.
Sound: So this review might be a bit lacking, I just don't pay too much attention to sound when I watch an ecchi. Yeah the voice acting was okay/good and most other action sounds were generally good too, I just never was "wow'd" by the sound in this anime so i'll give it a neutral score.
Chracter: 6
I can't even stand that i score it that high to be honest. Basically everyone from the Prince organization---I hate their characters so damn generic. Kyoko is the biggest albeit prettiest offender as she's just the usual big boobed tsundere type that eventually likes Kouichi's shall we say attention. Kiriko and shouma are no better albeit Shouma's "gulliver" was funny the first time he did it. Chiezo made a good slutty teacher character (and again looked very nice). The only reason i give this anime a 6 is because of Ritz and the penguiin empire. I have to say the idea of crazed human sympathizer isn't revolutionary but man Ritz's way of doing it was just great. Always referring to herself in 2nd person, always having that constant level of charm in both anger and happiness, her character was refreshing. But the best part had to be the penguins I mean just look at them. They're humanoid black and white things with giant dick-like tails. The very concept is so odd that its actually funny. Pair these two with the "emepeor" penguin who tries his hardest to be serious and we have some decent characters in an otherwise bleak environment.
Enjoyment: 9
WAIT WHY THE HELL DO YOU GIVE IT A 9 IF YOU HATE THE STORY AND CHARACTERS?
well that's easy, because the anime succeeding in being entertaining despite its flaws. As much as the story and some characters made me cringe, the little things like the general populace fearing the good guys in fights, or the two leaders who try way too hard to be serious made me laugh. Not to mention that fanservice was generally well done here. I mean lets face it Kyoko was hot and Chieko is the kind of teacher you'd want to give in to. Put all this with an MC who is just too eager to follow up and we have genuine humor. I also give the enjoyment a slight bump up because I'm a massive mecha fan even if this one doesn't make the best use out of them.
Overall: 6
yeah if i'm gonna actually give a serious opinion on "would i reccomend this anime" then I'd have to say no to most people. To other ecchi loving, wacky loving fans like myself I'd say yes go watch it. But to a general fan of anime I'd say no don't waste your time, too many problems too few good points. So if you fit that first category of viewers then Hell yeah go watch this anime. But if you're the more casual or serious viewer then stay away.
