So yeah, I just watched the movie and it's fine, like the other Hosoda's movies.
Story - 6/10
It's a story about Ren, a boy who was abandoned by his family ran away before his relatives adopt him. Out of nowhere, he came to a town where beasts live and encounter a beast named Kumametsu. And so, their slice of life starts. More or less, it's a beautiful story about father and son, however it's pretty cliche for me and the consequences are pretty dramatic. Still, it's a fine movie as it delivered pretty much messages to the audience.
Premise - 7/10
Strong premise about love. This movie
...
is family-oriented, and it's about caring your family members. The movie showed two situation of adoptive children: the child loves his adoptive parents for being blessed by them; the child hates his adoptive parents for being adopted by them. Aside of that, the movie also spoken the truth of human hearts. Human hearts are dark and dirty. At the same time, this movie also showed love is actually simple all the time, as we just have to show our love to our close one by action. Anything in this world doesn't matter at all. It's not the case of who we are, love is always close to us. This movie is a simple, yet beautiful great work by Hosoda.
Characters - 6/10
Generic characters with generic characteristics. Nothing much to comment about. The characters fit the story well, however, as I said, pretty typical and nondescript. Nothing outstanding from the characters.
Sound - 6/10
Some soundtracks were good, like for the feel moments. However, most of them are just normal. Nothing outstanding for the sound too. The voice acting is fine, but still, nothing outstanding here too. The theme song is fine too.
Animation - 8/10
High budget production with great 2D hand-drawn battle animations. The backgrounds throughout the movie is great too. Every single frame for the movie are detailed.
Enjoyment - 7/10
I like the movie for being simple and beautiful, with telling us to love our family. However, I don't like the movie for being this dramatic, especially the timeskip where the boy grown up. Everything turned so damn dramatic after that.
Overall - 7/10
In overall, The Boy and The Beast is still a great movie. I highly recommend everyone to watch this movie. If you love this movie, you should try some other Hosoda's movie. I highly recommend you guys to watch them all, as it's all great drama movies about caring your family and close ones.

Well well. After 3 months, here come the second part of the movie series. It's pretty much a great movie for me. As the title implies, it's more or less about teenagers must have their determination in life. Also, as you can see from the key visual, movie 2 centered within Mimi & Joe. So, let me go into detail one by one. This will be spoiler free review.
Story - 6/10
It's more or less goes with the same formula used in part 1 of the movie, which most of the time was just slice of life with nothing happened at all. However, these slice of
...
life actually helps in rebuilding the characters and refresh the audience to know them again. So, slice of life is actually necessary. For the story, in this part, it's about Joe having determination and awareness of himself, same goes to Mimi. And well, the movie continued where part 1 stopped, with pretty much of plot twists. I am so sad again.
Premise - 6/10
Determination, angst, adolescence, awareness, teenage issues, all of these are the theme of the movie. This reminds me of 01 when Yamato was edgy of courage and during 02 when Ken was having a huge conflicts for being replacement. The premise for this part is pretty good. Everyone must have awareness of what they really want.
Characters - 7/10
Well presentation in delivering refreshment onto every single character in this sequel movie series. Everyone grows up, so does the characters in Digimon. They won't be the same as past (01 & 02), that's why character development is necessary. This part there are more character development for Mimi & Joe. At the same time, more details were given onto the other characters. At the same time, reintroduction of old casts is a well-done too. For now, the audience is able to on track with every single characters, as they know them well now.
Animation - 8/10
Best animation Toei could deliver. The battle scenes are amazing, with every single blow of movement well-drawn. Reminds me of how beautiful Kyousougiga is.
Sound - 7/10
Matched every single perfectly, especially for FEEL moments. Also, few insert tracks gave me nostalgia of the original.
Enjoyment - 8/10
It's freaking enjoyable. Watching your favourite female character (Mimi) grow up is a rare opportunity, as she is just a fictional character. Also, old casts return no doubt is a great thing for fans like me. At the same time, new girl MeiMei is so damn adorable! The slice of life absolutely wasn't for nothing. 1 hour 20 minutes of the movie are freaking worthy for the day!
Overall - 7/10
This part of the movie series is really great. Perhaps, it just for Digimon fans. However, it really great, compare with the first of the movie series. I am so anticipated for the third part of series now, as it freaking ended with a cliffhanger. Oh damn!

I just watched the movie after the long wait. The movie is so damn good!
*my review verdict might be low but I love the series.
Story - 4/10
To be honest, there are nothing much to deliver from this movie. It's just simple slice of life of Shido with the girls. It's simple, yet beautiful and enjoyable to watch the characters together. The story of Mayuri is actually quite good, however the whole movie is more slice of life focused instead of having a strong story development. The story in the movie actually pretty short, however it's great.
Premise - 5/10
Usual Date A Live routine. Most of the
...
time in the movie are used for dating again, however as I said, it's enjoyable to watch the characters dating and having characterization. Aside from dating, the movie actually have its own messages to deliver from its story. The movie mentioned of human's existence aren't for the day to be ceased, however is to love people that close to you. In short, the movie is pretty fine.
Character - 6/10
No doubt, characters in Date A Live are lovely. However, I still feel bad for Date A Live Season II for being a trainwreck. Still, characters from Date A Live Season II able to get more screentime in this movie and have more character development. Back in Season II, characters like Yamai Sisters & Miku were only introduced instead going into detail on their characters and personality. The movie did well in bringing up the cast and show more of them to the audience. Also, new character Mayuri is actually fine, despite being just a plot device for the whole movie. Still, this movie having too less of Kurumi & Origami, which kinda disappointed me. But well, remember that all girls in Date A Live are good, even Shidou himself. :^)
Art - 5/10
Production IMS, I didn't expect much from them. But well, the animation in the movie obviously is better than those in Season 2. (Season 2 is really horrible aside from its enjoyable story. The animation, characters, basically everything were bad in S2) At least the studio didn't designed all the girls look horrible. All the girls in the movie are pretty and lovely.
Music - 7/10
As usual, the soundtracks in Date A Live are great and matched every moment pretty well, especially all those heartwarming moments. sweet ARMS's theme songs gave me a lot of nostalgia of how much I loved the series.
Enjoyment - 8/10
It's really enjoyable throughout the movie. Every single moment, every interaction between characters, every word come out from the characters, never bored me. The movie really an enjoyable one. I really like the movie until the level that 1-hour isn't enough at all for the presentation of the movie. I freaking want more!
Overall - 6/10
Clearly, the entire movie is a movie for fans of the franchise. If you aren't a Date A Live fan, this movie clearly isn't a good one for you.
I have been a Date A Live fan for years, so wouldn't be surprise I like the movie that much. I wouldn't say the series is a great one, but clearly Date A Live is one of the best for harem romance genre. If you like shows with romance comedy and harem-based, Date A Live clearly is a great choice for you!
And here, I am going to stop my review here and wait for the coming of Season 3.

Yesterday I just watched The Empire of Corpses movie and what I got is just disappointment. Let me elaborate my statement with my review.
Story - 3/10
The story is about how Watson (Holmes's partner) discover a way of saving humanity from being zombie. The whole movie is just about his journey of his research and medication. The story itself is quite poor, as the movie itself literally is nothing but a medium to deliver deep messages to the audience. There is no story at all, aside from Watson going to save humanity with dumb and absurd way.
Premise - 6/10
The premise itself is sort of interesting, with
...
everyone was zombiefied and become 'Frankensteins'. Government zombiefied their citizens and corpses that are re-purposed with a false soul in order to use them as laborers, are used to improve industrial development. No doubt, the premise is pretty cool and there were symbolism behind it. The whole movie was actually symbolizing those laborers that have lost their soul to the system, which makes them no longer humane anymore. In order to regain the one's soul, humanity needs love. More or less, it's sort of like Guilty Crown, however at the same time, it's same as Guilty Crown failed in delivering the messages. The story and messages were all over the places without any coherence at all. In order words, this movie failed, even though it looks cool by its cover.
Character - 1/10
There is no character at all in this movie. All of them are plot devices in order to move on the plot and deliver deep messages. All of them are pretentious. There are no characteristic at all for the characters in the movie. It completely failed in character's aspect! I like Alexei, Nikolai & Friday though, but all of them are the same too. Plot devices!
Art - 9/10
Wit Studio, the studio that produced Attack on Titans and in Spring 2016 they are going to make a high budget production with cool animation, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress. If you have seen the trailer, or watched Attack on Titans before, you must have known the quality of animation the studio could deliver. It's all superb and fantastic throughout the whole movie. It's the only selling point for this bad movie. The animation, no doubt is eye-catching. The textures in background, the control in colours are well-produced. Every second every frame of the movie is so beautiful. Seriously, Wit Studio really did well in the visual part for this movie.
Music - 7/10
Not that bad, not that good either. All the tracks fit the movie well, but there is no memorable soundtracks from the movie. EGOIST's theme song is fine too.
Enjoyment - 4/10
The whole movie is like a boring roller coaster. It gave me so much anticipation on the movie, however it just left a huge disappointment to me. Nothing in the movie aside from the animation impressed me. I won't recommend anyone to watch this movie, even though it might be some "2deep4u" stuff, however the movie failed to handle the messages coherently. It really disappointed to me. Seriously, don't watch this movie, unless you wanna experience the great animations. Moreover, it's 2-hour long.
I really hyped this movie very much along with the other two Project ITOH (Genocidal Organ & Harmony). I hope the other two won't be this bad, seriously please. It's kinda wasted to spend that much of budget on this bad story.

Yuri Kuma Arashi, I’m sure that your first impression on it was the series is purely about “lesbian”. No doubt, Yuri Kuma Arashi is a series that talks about something related to lesbians, but what the series wants to present to the audience is more than the lesbian theme. Yuri Kuma Arashi, was translated to “Lesbian Bears Storm”. The title, however, is very misleading. “Yuri” actually refers to pure maiden while “Kuma” actually refers to sexual predators. In other words, Yuri Kuma Arashi actually is a show that symbolizing the difference between pure romantic friendship between two girls & the real lesbianship. Ikuhara might had
...
set an objective for the series which making the audience able to differentiate a pure romantic friendship & a lustful lesbianship.
About the story, Yuri Kuma Arashi basically was about a bear who named Ginko wanted to be loved by Kureha who once was her friend in past. The series was set with a setting which at long ago, a far off planet known as Kumalia exploded, turning into a meteor shower that fell upon earth. This lead to the bears becoming violent and attacking the humans, who created the Wall of Severance between them and the bears. The setting was actually similar with Shingeki no Kyoujin (Attack on Titans) which human were living in the wall to avoid the attacks from the monster, but what made Yuri Kuma Arashi more interesting was bears can actually disguise themselves into human. The series started off by after several years, two bears, Ginko and Lulu, disguise themselves as humans and enroll in Arashigaoka Academy, where Ginko takes interest in a human girl named Kureha.
Having a great premise doesn’t mean the series was good. A lot of series which had a great premise usually failed to be a great series because most of the time the development was bad. In term of “development”, we’re talking about the pacing & the plot quality. Yuri Kuma Arashi is great part of the reason have to thanks to the slow-pacing development. Making the audience confused episode by episode and slowly revealing the truth is what Yuri Kuma Arashi had. The plot was developed with a slow-pace to present what Ikuhara actually wanted to prove us, the difference between a pure romantic friendship & a lustful lesbianship. From the series, you can actually see the love by Ginko to Kureha was changing slowly from the beginning to the current episode.
Now, let’s talk bout’ the characters. The characters are great and memorable. They are actually some realistic characters that you can related them to someone in your life. Almost all the major characters in Yuri Kuma Arashi get their character development. Start from the protagonists, Kureha Tsubaki. Kureha is a character that don’t give a fuck to the others except those who close to her like her best friend, Sumika Izumino. Moreover, Kureha is a character who not really well in making decision even though her hatred to bears are deeper than anyone. Also, Kureha is a character who was thirsty for having friends. You can actually relates her to Ruuko Kominato from Selector WIXOSS series. Move to the 2nd protagonist, Ginko Yurishiro. Ginko is a character who will do anything for Kureha’s love. Ginko is also a selfish character who ignore others as long as it doesn’t related to her. Comes to the final protagonist, Lulu Yurigasaki. Lulu is a character who similar to Kureha, cares about those who close to her. But at the same time, Lulu is also a character who full with jealousy. Aside from the protagonists, the other characters are well-written too and how that acted on situations are splendid. You can actually sense that realistic human nature are inputted to all the characters.
Advance to the arts, it’s great with a standard of above average. As you know, Ikuhara, who was great in symbolism usually take the advantages of visual to symbolize some messages he wanted to present to the audience. In Yuri Kuma Arashi, he used lilies to symbolize the purity of a maiden. This sounds confusing but Ikuhara actually did used more that lilies to present out some messages. Aside from the visual effects, Yuri Kuma Arashi actually had a great character designs. The characters looks cute and suitable for the series. Moreover, the background the series used is another tricks that Ikuhara used to plot something mystery. You can actually find something interesting from the background through series like Kureha’s room which was symbolizing Kureha was a lonely person by making her room looks full (Loners actually did this. When they are lonely, they actually filling up their rooms with a lot of objects so that the room isn’t big enough to fit in the second person, which at the same time the loners could able to make excuses for themselves that they aren’t lonely at all).
Move to the sound, Yuri Kuma Arashi also did well on it. Instead of hiring experienced voice actors for their protagonists (Kureha, Ginko & Lulu’s VA isn’t popular at all), the studio hired the experienced voice actors for side-characters. The studio was aware that the side-characters need a more professional voice acting compare to the protagonists to bring out great effects for the series. For example, they hired Junichi Suwabe (Archer from Fate/stay night’s VA) for voice acting Life Sexy because they know that his professional voice acting’s skill might bring effects to series. Not to mention, “SHABADADOO~~” had already became a memorable term to the audience. Aside from the voice acting part, Yuri Kuma Arashi also did well in bringing up the soundtracks. The OSTs are great which the audience able to feel the atmosphere of the situation. In additional, the sound effects that Yuri Kuma Arashi used is another kind of tricks for Ikuhara to plot some messages to audience.
My thoughts on Yuri Kuma Arashi is actually quite simple. Despite being about lesbians, this show manages to be great in its own right. The series actually does symbolize all kinds of stuff like friendship, desire for something, how the society treats lesbians, how people treat sex differences & the power of love. Besides that, the series was progressed well with a mysterious way which makes me getting more interested for the show. The characters are great and memorable most of the reasons because they’re realistic like someone who close to us in real life. As a conclusion, missing out Yuri Kuma Arashi might be regretful for you since it’s one of the best series in Winter 2015.
