I was very invested into this manga, because it had a interesting concept that many could get behind, a boy who doesn't care and excels at things while a girl hates him for not caring? Alright cool lets see it!
aaaaaaaand it falls apart. Around the chapter 15-ish its revealed that Himari, the friend of Akane and honestly the friendship bridge that ties Saito the mc and her together, likes Saito. I thought this was fine and made sense, considering what he does to help her throughout the manga. She even asks if Akane and Saito are in any kind of relationship, because for her, if
...
they are she won't bud in. This gives this dynamic of failure to communicate proper feelings between Akane and Himari. Good plot point on the inability to speak up causing more issues, however Shisei buds in as well. She is Saito's cousin, and she ALSO likes Saito but doesn't say anything. This immediately made me just lose interest. Not because they're related VERY CLOSE BY BLOOD (although that did add to it), no I've seen and read worse and was able to brush it off. Its the fact that it was slowly changing what type of genre it was, from a story about a couple of people who hate each other, learning to love and accept each another, to a harem romance with everyone wanting the mc's pie.
The MC's character progression is either shallow or slow moving (the manga realistically is in its infant stages). The series basically slams you in the face 24/7 that the MC is above everyone when it comes to memorizing and regurgitating knowledge and information, which was fine, at least when I wasn't bashed across the head with it almost every other chapter. That wasn't what made me give up on him though, no that was his family, his entire bloodline ALSO seems to have these gifts, with the main example of them stating that the MC's mom was able to see and react to things slowly I think? I don't know its when I started to tune out and it just ruined it for me
TL;DR started as a interesting concept, slowly started morphing into a common Rommance manga, if its your thing, go for it, but for me? Nah I'm good
