I know why you've all gathered here my Berserk fans, it's because you found something remotely, or even greater than Mimura's renowned work, "Oshi no Ko." Let me begin by telling you how refreshing this anime is, from the characters, the animation, and somewhat mostly original story the anime provides is just so different from what Berserk has to offer. Everyone is tired of the same overused dark fantasy wave; series like Claymore, Vinland Saga are truly over saturated in today's market.
Oshi no Ko takes over-used themes like betrayal, revenge, and hardships to a new meaning.
The anime does an amazing job at

setting the scene, it's new, it's modern and it's shiny. Oshi no Ko is like Berserk in every regard, but with more palatable twists that will suit the contemporary viewer.
Oshi no Ko is beautiful and animated so gracefully, Berserk's detailed panels and recent animes do not compare to how amazingly drawn each individuals' eyes are.
As for our main characters, without spoiling too much, are really one of a kind. I like how closely representative the writer's work is aligned to Japan's culture, as well as getting a peak into the writer's mind. I first noticed this connection when I was introduced to Aqua when he was still a doctor interacting with his 12 year old patient Sarina. As embarrassing as it is to admit, I cried. I couldn't help but say, "the doctor is just like me." The scene was so heart felt and relatable, I truly would have considered Sarina as a marrying candidate if she was 16 as well.
Ruby and Aqua are similar to our cherished Casca, blindly engrossed in their mother Ai who failed them as a parent, but Oshi no Ko does something Berserk will never achieve, he gives Ai a happy ending. And honestly, that is so rewarding. Her death is the breaking point for our protagonist and the driving point for the rest of the series.
As controversial as this may be, to simply put it, Berserk, is like Oshi no Ko if it was good. Watching Oshi no Ko just made me realized how failed of a melodrama Berserk is.
