Story:- 3/10
The premise from what I understand is about people with some type of ability similar to telepathy however it’s never properly explained what it is. It’s just a brief summary with images as we, the audience, are supposed to grasp this concept of the psyche. I’ve watched ‘ID:Invaded’ and played ‘AI: Somnium Files’ and they explained in their own terms what happens to people in their own mind than this show did. There were too many terms used in a short amount of time without evaluating on what they properly were and moving onto the next one straight away which caused further confusion.

Art:- 6/10
The ... art style is quite good, especially when it takes places within the minds of the characters. It was animated by Studio Geno who have done other Anime such as ‘Star Wars: Visions’, ‘ Kokkoku’ and ‘Golden Kamuy’. The ‘peaks’ and ‘valleys’ both have nice artistic value to them with the ‘valleys’ being seen as creepy, dark or grotesque while the ‘peaks’ were seen as serene and beautiful.

Sound:- 8/10
The opening is sung by TK from Ling Tosite Sigure and the ending is produced by TK but sung by Memai Siren which are probably the only memorable pieces of music from this anime.

Characters:- 4/10
The very first episode introduces like six characters and only four are main. The character known as ‘Hiroki’ was likeable until he became entirely dependent on ‘Tsukasa’ whenever he’s around. It was annoying. There were cool moments that seemed like something might happen with him, but never did. Apart from the vague confrontation in episode twelve between him, ‘Tsukasa’ snd ‘Satoru’.

Enjoyment and Overall:- 5/10
Overall it’s an average anime with a story that doesn’t know where it wants to go. Characters that dawdle along with the plot until the time is right. A lot of unanswered questions especially with how it ended. Vague explanations on how the system surrounding the abilities in this universe work and how people get pulled into the company’s business. The switching between multiple characters in a single episode is also a major factor into the confusing plot along with it constantly showing multiple flashbacks per episode.

I was looking forward to this when I saw it’s trailer on Netflix, but I am quite disappointed with the turn out. This will be a short review.

Story:- 2/10
What story? Momo only apparently discovers music from a music box she finds while on a mission and really likes it. Enough to want to leave the home she’s known for years and her Mother? What motive is that? She also decides all of a sudden to go with a vampire when she’s been brought up to hate them. The whole plot is the two running away from both vampires and the military it was a great ... premise, but the execution was awful. It was a mess.

Art:- 7/10
The one thing that kept me watching was the amazing animation and art that Wit Studio always puts out for their Anime, but that’s the only thing good about this show.

Sound:- 1/10
I can’t recall a single piece of significant music that I found awe-inspiring.

Character:- 2/10
There was not one character I like in this. The human characters I hated, the main characters were boring and there weren’t really any other vampires that got screen time a part from one. The only character I like was Allegro because he was the only interesting character in the whole show with his past relationship with Fine, his hatred towards humans and he had a dog too. A vampire who likes dogs and cares about them is different than them just being used for food; though we didn’t get the dog’s name sadly. The Uncle seemed interesting, but his development was at the end and I really didn’t care anymore. Momo and Fine I could care less about. Momo’s Mother was borderline abusive due to the fact she didn’t understand why her daughter ran away in the first place and continued to have her soldiers hunt her down; even crazy ones who would get her hurt either by accident or on purpose.

Enjoyment and Overall:- 5/10
Even if this review has been fairly negative I enjoyed it quite a bit, but only to a certain extent. And it’s mostly due to everything I wrote above. I give this Anime a 5 because of the lackluster writing in the motivation of the characters, the lack of knowledge of who the characters are and not letting the audience care about these characters enough. You can watch it if you’re a fan of vampires but I advice don’t. It’s a waste of five episodes you can waste on something else.

I'll just summarise my thoughts on this remake instead of writing a full-on review.

Story:- 10/10
Well, it's basically the same as the original. There weren't any changes except for some scenes being extended or changed. I was bothered by some dialogues being changed in the dub or even cut off though. However, since the story is basically the same it still retains a perfect 10.

Art:- 7/10
Okay, I have to say that the CGI for this film was amazing, but ... only for the Pokemon and scenic shots. Whenever it captured a human character it was just off-putting and looked more like I was watching a videogame ... cutscene that I really wanted to play.

Sound:- 3/10
Here's where I was annoyed the most. In the original, we had 'Brother my Brother' play during original vs clone Pokemon fight, but in this there's nothing. I get sometimes no music makes it more immersive, but half the film felt empty without any battle music (apart from the Pokemon theme at the beginning) or symphonies for emotional moments.

Character:- 6/10
They are all basically the same as from the first movie. The only character that really has any development is Mewtwo.

Enjoyment and Overall:- 6/10
It can still be an enjoyable watch, but with the flaws that I mentioned above especially with the lack of any music I recommend watching the original over this.
