Let me say this, I originally only started watching this anime with the full intention of memeing the shit out of it and then stop watching it after a couple of episodes. But to my surprise, it wasn’t only interesting enough for me to keep watching, it was also good enough to call it one of, if not the best anime to come out this season. And I don’t say those things lightly.
Onimai is another one of these body-switch shows, where at least one character gets genderbend. Often done so in the style of Your Name, where two characters of the opposite gender switch bodies.
...
But in Onimai, things are a little different. Because our main character, Mahiro, originally a man, gets turned into a girl by his little sister. In the process Mahiro also becomes a little younger.
The premise itself sounds interesting, but it needs to use it correctly, otherwise it would just be wasted potential. Fortunately, Onimai is doing exactly that.
Mahiro isn’t turned into a girl for the sake of having an interesting premise, it’s done so to put Mahiro into various interesting situations that a normal man would not be in. Like being on your period. So this anime takes Mahiro into these situations, that are typical more girly, and shows how a former guy would probably react in those type of situations. In the process, It also tackles some heavy topics like gender identity. The opening song is called “identity meltdown” for a reason.
But don’t be fooled. This is (most of the time) not a show that tries to dive deep into the topic of gender identity, and what it’s like to be in the “wrong body”, this is a lighthearted slice of life comedy most of the time.
Also, have I mentioned that there are wholesome moments in it? Because there are. Often between our two main characters, Mihari (Mahiro’s little sister) and Mahiro. I don’t want to spoil anything major, so I just wanted to let you know that they are there. It isn’t very often, but when it happens, it hits you like a rock straight into your heart.
All in all, a perfectly wholesome and funny anime without anything controversial in it, right?
Or so I would say, if there wouldn’t be that little thing called “Fanservice”. Yeah, we do that here, and most of the characters are 16 and under, got a problem with it? The fanservice is the only reason why I can’t recommend this anime to anyone with just a spark of self-respect. But to be fair, it’s not done in a “in your face” way like for example shows like Fire Force do. It’s done in a way that’s not forced. It just happens when the story goes ways. There are episodes without it, and it isn’t forced in in any way. It (most of the time) is there for a reason, often for Mahiro to be put into uncomfortable situations. Which pairs in with the already mentioned use of the main premise. In addition to that, the fanservice is more of a “funny” kind of fanservice, not a lewd one. All of the cast members are teenagers, after all. Still, the fanservice is the only reason I call this show a trashy anime with wholesome moments in it, rather than a wholesome anime with trashy moments in it, like I was promised from manga readers. But to be honest, I don’t mind the fanservice that much. The opposite is true, in fact. If the show would lose most of, if not all of its fanservice, it would be a worse show.
Fanservice is like a seasoning; if you put too much into it, it can turn the best anime into a cringe fest. You need to find the perfect balance when you put fanservice into your show. There are usually two types of fanservice in anime, the first is too much of everything, either done for some horny guys, or for the comedic aspect. Both are just neither hot nor funny because it’s just too much of everything. Your disappointment is immeasurable and your day is ruined in the process.
The other type is the perfect balance between whatever your show actually wants to do, and fanservice. It is not interfering with the main dish; it is adding extra flavor to it.
Onimai is doing the latter. But if you generally are not a fan of fanservice, then I can not recommend this show to you, but what I can recommend to you is the manga. I have already mentioned that I was promised a wholesome anime with trashy moments in it. Well, that is because a lot of the fanservice and “trashiness” only appears in the anime. The manga is pure for most of the time.
I really didn’t think this anime would hit as hard as it did, I’m a sucker for a well done slice of life, but still. It’s not like the winter 2023 season was bad or anything, we have had some hard hitting shows, but for me, Onimai still managed to come out on top.
The best part is that it is only one more step for Studio Bind.I think we can safely say that whenever an anime is made by Studio Bind, it is worth a watch, because there will always be that extra effort put into it. They have done it with Mushoku Tensei, and they did it again with Onimai, those guys over there really are doing it out of passion, I love that.
Thank you for reading this, love you!

I normally don’t write a review in the middle of the season, since some of the things I’m about to praise can become bad in the long run, and things that I don’t initial like can become one of the greatest things a show has to offer. But since the manga is an absolute masterclass, I don’t see a way how this show becomes bad in any way.
Let’s clear things up first. This is not an action driven show with lots of twists and turns, nor is it a show only driven by comedy. It is both, it has a great story with interesting
...
characters and comedy segments that are funny af. That doesn’t mean you have to like both you can perfectly enjoy this show when you are only interested in either the comedy or the actual plot.
For the first three episodes, they do everything the first episodes of a show need to do. They establish the plot, the characters and tell you what will happen in the future of this show.
I usually don’t have to say much about the music except “it makes the nice noise”. But one thing that is worth pointing out is that the sound director, Shouji Hata, is the same guy who responsible for the amazing tracks we heard in One Punch Man, or Vinland Saga. This guy clearly knows what he is doing, and he isn’t afraid of putting his sweat and heart blood into this show either.
Regarding the future of the show, since the show is being produced by Studio WIT and CloverWorks, it is safe to say that this show is in good care. I’ve picked up the manga like 6 months ago and let me say this, WIT and CloverWorks have the best job one can ask for. They basically only need to color in some manga pages, make them move, and bam they suddenly invented a new money printing machine. But as we know these two, they still are going above and beyond with really everything. Just from the first episode you can tell that there is passion and love for this project, and it will only get better from here, I promise you that.

When you think to the season of winter 2022, you will probably remember such mega hits like Demon Slayer or Attack on Titan, but Akebi’s Sailor Uniform is the anime I will remember winter 2022 for. Well then, let’s take a look at peak winter 2022, shall we?
This show is as simple as its title, it’s about a young girl named Akebi, and she likes her sailor uniform. There is no deeper meaning behind the story, it’s just the newest version of our favorite genre in anime: “cute girls doing cute things”. The perfect genre to sit back and relax a little bit.
Our
...
main character Akebi has one simple goal, that no slice of life character ever had before: She wants to make friends. But she has the ability to normally talk with other people unlike most characters with this goal in other shows. She is really hyperactive throughout the entire show, but not in an annoying way, you don’t get tired of her, the opposite is true to be exact, it gives you a feeling of serenity.
The side characters a good too, but not as good as Akebi. This show has a wide cast of characters, all with their own reason of being there and individual goals in mind. The anime tries to show us some of it, but it only feels like we scratched the surface, you can tell that these characters have more to tell than the anime showed us. But considering that this only had 12 episodes to work with, I’m glad they chose to focus on a small number of characters, but doing them justice, the alternative being creating a “jack of all master of nothing” kind of situation. In which case, no character would have had the chance to shine as brightly as some did in these 12 episodes. One thing this show does great, despite many people are not seeing, is the curiosity that comes with the situation we’re dealing with. You see, this show takes place in middle school, so the character are about 13 years old. Most people know how curios one can be in at this age, and this show works with it sometimes. Instead of breaking one’s mind on rather to do or don’t do something, one just does it to see if its something you may like. The downside of this is sadly that the show can be a little too curios, like showing hints of intimate curiosity, if not really displayed. But do not worry, if something like this happens, it’s only for short and it’s not bad enough to drag down the good stuff. It’s not like some Eromanga-sensei where you get smacked with at least one shot of a lolis ass every episode, so it’s possible to just ignore it when it happens.
The last thing I want to address is the art, holy shit does this look amazing sometimes. This show has animation quality that is capable of rivaling Demon Slayer at some points. You can really tell how talented and hard working these animators are. It is even more surprising when you take into account that this was just a side project of Clover Works. They really didn’t need to go all out with this one, but they still did, and the effort was worth it. Just take a look at the first 5 minutes and you know what I mean. I don’t have much to say about the soundtrack thou, it sounds good, some tracks a great but nothing too exciting.
TLDR: Do you like slice of life? Then this show is for you, as a little extra you get great characters and amazing animation.

~ This review contains minor spoilers. ~
Ah yes, Kyoto Animation have finally returned, again with another masterpiece. Nothing special just your typical Kyoto Animation here. Hello, and welcome to my Ted Talk, today I wanna present to you my top 100 reasons why “Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S” is awesome, and why you should watch it.
Season 1 of Maid Dragon was a great show, it was a good combination of various genres that we don’t get to see very often. But that was it pretty much, sure it had an epic ending and wholesome moments, but I think a that good majority of S1 was
...
carried by Kanna and her overwhelming cuteness. A lot of people (including me) only started with S1 because the internet exploded with that ball of fluffiness and cuteness that Kanna was. We came for the cutest dragon in existence, and we stayed for the story and the great cast of characters.
That is the best way I can sum up S1 of Dragon Maid. It was great, but not great enough to really talk about it, it was that one anime that came up in a conversation, everyone said that they found it good, and that was pretty much the whole conversation. So S2—I mean season S came out eventually, I watched the first episode and was blowen away, it felt like I was watching something like the new Demon Slayer movie and not a slice of life show about dragons being maids. That’s how good it was. In fact, it was so good, that I was worried for the rest 11 episodes, because how on earth do they want to top that? They did, and not only did they top that absolute banger that episode 1 was, but they also toped it on episode 2. I was sitting on my desk and said to myself “That’s it, that was the best episode this season, no way are they going to top that”. They did it again with episode 3. That happened every week, I said every week that episode X was the best episode so far and that they won’t top that, only to be proven wrong next week, and the cycle continues.
But how? How is it possible that a slice of life about cute dragons doing cute things, is so much better than 98% of anime out there? Why does this look like it was made for theaters?
When it comes to the quality of animation and the soundtrack, there is always a big discussion around it. In the case of Dragon Maid this discussion revolves around the question of “Is it legal for a slice of life show to look so good that it could play in theaters?”. There comes the question “Why does it look that good, why doesn’t anime X get these animations?”. If you ask this question, you will most probably get answers that say that it is because of the budget. I myself am not sure if these people are trolling, or if they just don’t know it better, so here is the real reason why it looks so gorgeous. It is simply because the skill and motivation of the animators. That’s pretty much all, sure there are more things to it, like time or the stress the animators have to endure, but to keep it simple, the main reason is because the animators at KyoAni are treated like normal human beings and not some work machines, like in other studios. So, in return the animators give it there all to create something big. I hope more studios see how much you can achieve by simple changing the way how you treat your employees. That is something that KyoAni did all the time, they always did everything they did with passion, they only do like 1 or 2 projects simultaneously, we can see for ourselves how that turns out.
So, enough talk about why KyoAni is the best anime-studio, back to cute dragons. So, is that all? Is the sole reason why it is a masterpiece because it is made by KyoAni? No of course not, there is more to it. S1 already did a great job at making every character somewhat interesting. Even a character like Lucoa, who is clearly only there for fanservice, has not only great booba, but a great character too. In S1 she wasn’t really that big of a deal (except for her breasts), but season S did a good job at giving her another reason to exist outside of fanservice. She doesn’t have very much screentime, but that little time she was there, she contributes to the plot, so she had a reason to be there. Although, you need to read between the dialog to find out more about Lucoa, because she is a former goddess, therefore not very much is known about her (at the moment). She isn’t something you would call a “great character”, but considering her job she has in this show, that’s enough for me. Let’s take another fanservice character as an example, but this time, someone you can actually call a “great character” (on my opinion): Kanna, the slayer of depression. I think Kanna and Lucoa have one thing in common, they are both fanservice characters, but on a different basis. While Lucoa just has enormous boobs and does her fanservice job that way, Kanna’s fanservice job is it to kill your depression with her overwhelming cuteness. She does have a lot more screentime compared to Lucoa, but her character is never boring to watch. Not only that, but season S also continuous Kanna’s character where S1 left; at building a mother-daughter relationship between Kanna and Kobayashi, and let me say, never ever have I seen a parent-child relationship been executed so damn well. It’s the little things with Kanna, that make her so god damn good as a character. Her doing her all to stop Saikawa from taking pictures of Elma, her spilling tea over her school notebook, than trying in panic to getting it dry with a towel, only to fail at that and then taking a hair dryer and trying it that way (also she plugged that hair dryer in her tail because she is an electro dragon, that is too adorable to watch for one person), or that one time when she read 5.95$ as 595 ¥, so she tried to pay that way. There are countless other examples on why Kanna is a great character, and she does all of that while still being plot relevant. Kanna is the best example that being a fanservice character doesn’t mean to be a bad character.
But that were just some of the side characters, I haven’t talked about the main characters yet (although you can call Kanna a main character, because of her enormous screentime, but I think Kobayashi and Thoru can be considered the only main characters). What bothered me in S1 was the lack of story and character development. Season S tackles that problem. While we got only like 3 or 4 story relevant episodes in S1 (the rest was slice of life), we got like 6 or 7 in season S. The first 2 episodes were all around the new character Ilulu, then we got some backstory episodes about Elma (which is very nice because she didn’t have much to say in S1), then some about Thoru and now the finally, which is… you know if you know. These backstory’s not only show us the origin of said character, but it also says a lot about the problems character X has. I won’t go into detail here, because of spoilers, but it is similar with Lucoa’s story relevant situation, where you must read between the dialogue to find specific things out. It is by far not the best story out there, but it is rare enough for a slice of life to have a story at all, so I can’t complain here. The only thing that bothered me in S1 was that they didn’t really do something with that story, now they have done something with it, I am happy as it is.
TLDR: Should you watch it? Yes, if you watched S1, you will love this, if you haven’t, go and watch it at once! This show has everything you can wish for in a slice of life, plus godlike animations that can fight on eye with Demon Slayer. You watched episode 1 and don’t know if it gets better from there? Don’t worry, it only goes uphill from here. The story is also very good for slice of life standards, so that shouldn’t concern you either.
Also, one final thing I wanna say: Kanna is an angel and she deserves all the love and head-pets in this world, and if I hear anyone talking shit about her, I will personally humiliate you more then Rimuru did to Clayman.

What is love? How does it look like? How many shapes does it have? Is everything justifiable if it is in the name of love?
Everyone has a different answer to the question what love is, based on their entire life. This anime works with this, everyone in this show has another form of love. But the catch is, almost everyone is crazy like shit, and in return has some crazy form of love.
The story is simple, our main character is Satou she has pink hair, and if you are familiar with anime then you should know that pink hairs are always the biggest red flag
...
you can possibly find. She seems like a good and innocent girl, she talks about how happy she is with her boyfriend. But then you get to see that her boyfriend is actually a little girl half her age. We are talking about an 8-year difference, so Satou is 16 and her "boyfriend", Shio is 8.
At this point, many people condemn this show, but for me, this is where it really started. You would think that this relationship can never function, but the show suggests that it is indeed possibly.
Later in the first episode we get to learn that Shio is a missing child. But she does seem happy, she never seems like she is unhappy or even missing her family. So, what happened to her? Is she being controlled by Satou? Is she just pretending or is she indeed not missing her family and is happy with Satou?
These were the initial questions that kept me interested in the show. I wanted to know what happens to them, but there were so much more great things about this show, that really had an impact.
Many people do not like the majority of the characters, because of how disgusting some of them are. But I think that the inner conflict and mental issues are very good portrayed. Almost every character has a trauma of some kind, and how they work out is very good. Every character has scars, they either they are there from the beginning, or the develop over the course of the show. They are exaggerated, yes, but I think that this is one of the best things in this show. I will go into depth of my favorite character trauma later on, because that would spoil way too much, so you can skip it if you want to.
So, what does this have to do with love?
Like I said, every character has a different meaning of love, and the show goes all the way out to show all different kinds of love these characters have. But the elephant in the room is with no doubt the love between Shio and Satou. I feel like every person has a different opinion on the question if this can really be considered love. It is a harsh topic, and I will explain my opinion on this topic at the end, with a spoiler mark.
But if you accept it, you will think a lot about it. I said earlier that every person has a different answer about love, based on their entire life, this is one of these shows where you start to think about your concept of love, because for me, it definitely was a reason to think about it.
Let’s move on to the music and soundtrack, to cool down a little bit.
You know that a soundtrack is great, when you don't even notice the music played in the background during an intense scene. It really helps creating a feeling of despair, sadness, or even happiness, when needed. The best example for a great choice of music is episode 9 I would say. Easily a great choice of music in my eyes. The same goes for the opening and the ending, both are very good, and you know what this anime is about just by watching the opening.
What I loved the most about this show. *(spoiler)*
I recommend you to not read this part if you still need to watch the show, because I will spoil the hell out of you in this part. You can start reading at the end of spoilers mark.
My favorite part in this show is definitely Shio and her character development. At first, she didn’t was a complete character, with a reason. She had a trauma which she forgot, and that made her incomplete. But the more you dive into this show, the more she fights her trauma, and in the end, she remembers everything. She remembers her true family, the reason why she lives with Satou in the first place, and that was the moment I thought she would turn against Satou, but that wasn't the case. Her trauma was basically her entire life, she couldn't go to school. Her mother wouldn't allow her to go outside because of the fear that her abusive father might find her. When she even put a foot outside, she was yelled at, and even got hit. In the end, her mother abandoned her on the streets. In that moment, Shio was mentally completely lost. I mean, she was an 8-year-old that had never seen another person besides her family, and that family abandoned her. But the person who gave her a home was Satou, many people misbelief that Satou kidnapped Shio, but that wasn't the case. Satou basically saved her. Furthermore, Shio had the best time in her life with Satou.
So instead of going back to her family, she chooses to be with Satou, because why would she want to go back to a family that let her alone all by herself in the rain? Shio is even willing to spend the rest of her life with Satou, and they vow to one another to ever be there for one another. When Shio is confronted with her brother in the last episode, she has completely free will if she wants to be with Satou or her brother, and she still chooses Satou. In the end, there is no escape for the two of them, and in that moment, it is Shio's wish to die together with Satou. But Satou sacrifices her life to save Shio, because she doesn't want that the only person, she ever truly loved dies.
In the aftermath, Shio survived and Satou died, Shio was once again traumatized by the fact that Satou didn't let Shios last wish to die together come true. And Shio became a psycho herself, by adopting a lot of Satous character traits, so much that Shios brother didn't saw Shio in that moment, he saw Satou, and Satou was definitely a psycho. I think it is safe to say that Shio is the true protagonist, and Happy Sugar Life is the story about her being thrown away by her family, then finding her true place in the world with the only person that really cares about her only to being betrayed once more. Leaving a mentally wreck behind that will most probably go on a killing spree in a few years.
So, was that really love? Can you call that relationship love? Like I said, there are more opinions on that topic then I care to count, because for me the answer is clear as day. For me, it definitely was love. Let my quickly explain why. Most people argument that Satou kidnapped Shio, but that wasn't the case. Then, Satou never did anything bad to Shio, she did her best to make her happy, and she never laid hand on her ever. And if you get to know Satous backstory, it gets really clear that Satou loved Shio as a person, she wasn't a pedo, a common misbelief in my opinion. On the other side, Shio felt the same way for Satou, that is also very clear if you listen to the dialogue carefully. Furthermore, Shio was more happy being with Satou then being with her own family. The only thing I would let slide is that Shio isn't mentally mature. But I think if they would been the same age, the story, the message and a lot of other things would go away. And I think that they would still love each other in this scenario. Judge me if you want, I'll stick to my opinion. But this discussion if it really was love or not, is something I like about this show too, I like it if you can share your opinions about something controversial like that, these discussions sure are fun and an important part of that show to me.
What I missed for a 10/10 *(end of spoilers)*
If you skipped the last part because of spoilers, welcome back. You are save now. I will now list a few things that annoyed me in this show. One thing that annoyed me is part of the story, so I will make it clear when I talk about that point, the rest is spoiler free.
To be honest, there were only three things that really annoyed me while watching this show. The first thing is that almost every character in this show is insane to some degree. It would have been nice to have more normal characters. The second thing is that the anime skipped a few things from the manga. Normally I don't really care if an anime skips over some unimportant stuff, but here it was a lot of details that made a teeny tiny difference. I don't really know why, but I enjoyed reading the manga more than I enjoyed watching the anime. Like I said, the anime only skipped a few details, so no big deal, but still. These were just a few minor details, but they made a difference to me.
*Spoiler* skip to the conclusion for no spoilers
The last thing that annoyed me the most was that Satou forgot her ring in the last episode. They were about to go away and life their new live somewhere else, but Satou forgot her ring, so they needed to go back. I hated that moment so much, because it is so out of character. Satou values her relationship with Shio more than her own life, and that ring was a symbol of that love, there is no way she would ever forget something that important. Double points for the fact that neither Shio nor her aunt noticed the missing ring.
My conclusion
I think this is a heavily underrated show. I've seen only a few shows that are capable of really making me rethink some of my perspectives about life, and this is such a show (maybe it's just because I'm a psycho myself, idontknow). I also enjoyed that this show was brave enough to take a taboo subject as his main story, the discussions lead from that subject are very interesting and fun. I can definitely recommend this show to you, but please don't judge it just because of the subject the story is taking. If you don't like the theme, so be it.

This review contains spoiler.
Yesterday I went to the cinema and watched the movie. I am living in Germany, so it took almost 3 months more for me to finaly see this movie, and oh boy was it worth it. The majority of this review is spoiler-free, but in order to explain why it isn't a 10/10 for me, I need to talk about the story and the characters. That means, only the story and half of the character part contains spoiler, so you are warned.
Art/Animation - 10/10
Do I really need to explain why this is a 10/10? Like the first season of Made in Abyss,
...
the artstyle is breathtaking, the flowers, the snow, even the water looks so beautiful. When you see the animation of the world, you can almost feel how it is to walk across the snow fields of the 5th layer. If you liked the art of the first season, you will love this one. Cinema Citrus has once again showed how good a world can be build by just painting a landscape.
Sound/Music - 10/10
Almost the same as with the animation. The music was made once again by Kevin Penkin who also was responsible for the soundtrack of the first season. To be honest with you, I didn't thought that it was possible to surpass the original soundtrack of the first season, but it was possible. not only were made a lot of new tracks, like "Faith" or "Field of Eternal Fortunes", a few banger from the original soundtrack were re-made and adapted to better match the feeling of the movie. Like for example "The Fourth Layer" this obviously a remake of "The First Layer", or "Transcendance and Hanezeve" which is a half-remake of "Hanezeve Caradhina" track. Every part in the movie has it's own nice tracks, it doesn't matter if it is fighing, planning or even cooking, every little scene comes with a beautiful music track that perfectly matches the scene.
I also want to talk about the ending theme "Forever Lost" which was made with the help of the almighty "MYTH & ROID" band. This thing is a absolute beast of an ending theme. I really wish more animes would have such an breathtaking ending song. No one, and I mean no one stood up during the credits and went outside. Everyone was listening to the ending, that is how epic it was.
Story - 9/10
As I said, in order to explain why the story isn't a 10/10 for me, I need to talk about the overall story of the movie. If you don't want any spoilers, feel free to skip to the next part of this review.
So, now to the point of what I don't like about the story.
The story overall is really good, it begins there where the anime ended. But in comparison with the manga, the movie let out a few things. For example the manga explained the arsenal of Bondrewd and the artifacts he has a lot more. These informations aren't really important, but it is really sad the movie let out so much in comparison. There are also more things that have annoyed me. The unimportant TF scences, like in the Prushka flashback at the end, Prushka gets Meinya - her little pet - Meinya shits on the floor for no reason, I mean, why is this important? Or the Reg boner scene, right after Reg was turned back to normal with the help of Nanachi, he gets a boner when he touched Nanachi's fur, why is this important to show? It is not like in the original were these kind of scenes had a reason of being there and explained stuff. In the second episode of season 1 for example, were Rico was tied up naked, this scene gave us a deeper look at the educational methods the people in Made in Abyss use to punish there misbehaving children (it isn't a very effectiv method I guess, but I prefer not to pull the pen out of that grenade). Or the bathing scene in the last episode of the first season, it shows good that Reg sees Rico as a girl, but Rico doesn't see Reg as a boy. She doesn't even sees him as a human to be exact. You know what I mean? These scenes had a reason to be there, but not in the movie. To be fair, the movie also had some of these scense were they had a reason to show some stuff, but you get the idea.
Character - 9/10
The characters are pretty much the same as in the first season. Riko is still naiv and sometimes quite stupid, Reg is still Rikos personal elevator, and Nanachi still struggles by being best girl. The three of them doesn't really change much, everyone of them gets a little character development, but not spoiling too much, sorry if I did for you. And we see for the first time how Nanachi gets into the group, Rico and Reg were a good team before Nanachi, and Nanachi managed to find a good place, my apprehension was that she would turn into a second Sakura from Naruto or something, but I am really happy that this is not the case.
We also got one new, and one old-but-kinda-new-character in the movie. Bondrewd and Prushka. Please note, I am trying to hold spoilers as low as possible for these two characters, but in order to explain what I disliked about them, I need to talk about the story itself, so skip to the last part if you didn't watched the movie yet.
First Prushka, I really like Prushka she is a new character I really enjoyed, she was energetic, cute, helpful and had a little sweet tsundere side. But the thing that bothers me the most about her is that she got introduced way too late in the story. I think to have a more impact in the story, she should habe been with Rico and Reg since the second layer or something like that. That alone would have made her character so much more valuable.
Bondrewd on the other hand, is a lot more comprehensible then you would thouht in the first season. He doesn't does those things because he can it, more because he wants to see the end of the Abyss and also being able of coming back from it. And for this goal, he is willing to sacrifice the lifes of children. If you think about it, Bondrewd and Rico aren't that diffrent, they are both very curious about the Abyss and its Artifacts. In the second episode of the first season we get to know that Rico also tried to cut Regs arm off, but she wasn't able to cut it because she didn't had the tools. Once again, Rico doesn't sees Reg as a human.
But yeah, I really enjoyed both characters, but Prushka was introduced too late. Sorry about that.
Overall - 9/10
This part is once again, spoiler-free
I really enjoyed this movie a lot. It was a good continuation of the first season. Just like in the first season, the Worldbuilding and the soundtrack are beyond epic. The animations are really good, even better than in the first season. The only problem I have is how they did the adaption from the manga and Prushka. I think they should have made a second season instead of a movie, I unterstand why they made a movie, but I think the soundtrack and the worldbuilding could have shine even more in a second season.
Should you watch it? Definitely yes! If you liked Made in Abyss, you will love this movie. And a little tip if you want to watch in the cinema, double check if the movie has sub or dub in the cinema. In my case, I had to watch it with the German dub, since the cinema i choose had only dub. Not a big problem, because the German synchronization is great, but I bet the Japanese one is better.
