Investigators √A ... I mean Tokyo Ghoul √A... *cough*
I enjoyed the series immensely because I'm a huge fan of this property. I've seen the first season and read the manga. I know that many manga fans hate this series, I'm not quite as critical when the anime chooses to change things but I definitely felt underwhelmed considering the wealth of content that was missing. I can't believe they left out some of the best parts in the manga! Why?!
There is lots of symbolism in this series. I've felt very moved by the actions that unfolded in the series. It's definitely very sad and Tokyo Ghoul
...
has lots of tragic events, it works nicely. I am disappointed that they had so little fights and had very little gore which was censored again. The first season had good, unique fights but this series had far too few fight scenes.
The art/animation was an improvement from the first season. The sound was also great. I like the OP and ED, the sound effects were good too.
The characters were underdeveloped and underutilized. It's an absolute injustice that we got so little Kaneki. Season 1 did a much better job in this regard. It does look like we might get another season focusing on :re which I'm not very thrilled about considering the amount of content that was skipped.

The potential of this show was extremely high when first watching. It seemed like a perfect candidate for a long running show like Fairy Tail or One Piece. The world was seemingly huge, the characters were plentiful and interesting, the story left time for adventure and side stories but unfortunately we were only blessed with 24 episodes.
The story was a little rushed and could have had some interesting filler arcs or side stories. I can only speculate that the budget was the main reason for a measly 24 episodes, luckily we're most likely getting a second season to continue the manga.
The art and
...
sound is extremely average. I won't bother to elaborate.
The characters are what make this show interesting. I love each character for different reasons but my favourites have to be Ban and King. I just love how much depth Ban has and his past ties into the plot incredibly well, as does Kings. They are probably the two characters to get the most attention. Hopefully the next season will explore other characters a little more.
I really enjoyed the show. It was a pleasure to watch and I'm excited for season 2. Give it a try.

Absolute Duo is another standard harem series. The show is filled with humorous misunderstandings. The series does have a unique twist in the form of weapons created from the powers of the soul.
The story throughout the series is severely lacking which isn't too shocking considering the genre. The main plot development happens in the last two episodes.
The OP is great. I love the music choices.
The characters are very typical. They definitely need more work in terms of character development. We barely scratched the surface in terms of the motivation and pasts of the lead characters.
I enjoyed the series but I'm not
...
excited for a second season or too bothered if one isn't made.

This is the closest harem to Highschool DxD that I've seen yet. That is a plus in my opinion although everyone seems to either hate or like this series.
The story is rather simplistic but overall interesting to see the relationships between the demons and hero clan. I think there is much more depth to be mined in future seasons.
The OP and ED are very reminiscent of Highschool DxD in both the style of animation and type of music used. The music is good and fits the show.
The characters are underdeveloped which is to be expected for a harem that consists of only
...
12 episodes. I think more complexity will be added in following seasons especially with the revelations of the last episode which does hint at a greater depth than previously seen.
I enjoyed this series. It's very humorous and entertaining. The anime is heavily censored which is to be expected. I'm sure an uncensored version will be released eventually. If you like Highschool DxD, give it a try.

I didn't have the highest of hopes after watching past Dragon Ball movies since they are quite nonsensical and non-canon but Battle of Gods changed this and gives new life to a staple of the Anime industry.
The amount of fan-service in this movie is godly. You even have pilaf and crew making an appearance. The humour is certainly strong in this movie, it's very comical and brings back memories of the original Dragon Ball series. We have all our favourite characters and they each get quite a bit of screen time which is unusual for Dragon Ball Z which usually focuses on action and
...
fighting. This movie was a nice mixture of fun and action.
The animation is absolutely gorgeous. The budget for this movie was obviously much larger than past movies along with the creativity. The character designs are very good and high quality but what most impressed me was the tactical use of 3D. The 3D is spectacular and blends perfectly with the 2D elements of animation. The colours are also very vibrant and in general, the colour pallet was good. The characters were all well represented.
I love the theme music for Dragon Ball, the Japanese version and this modified theme song was perfection.
The characters are great as usual. I don't feel the need to explain why you should like them because it's obvious that Dragon Ball has well developed and interesting characters. I would have loved to see Vegeta wear his pink shirt however.
The movie was impressive and deserves a higher rating. My ratings for other Dragon Ball movies have been 6 or 7. My rating for Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z has been 8 but the quality of this movie is amazing. The animation is incredible, the time and love poured into this movie is obvious to any fan of Dragon Ball and thus this movie deserves 9/10.

I missed the opportunity to watch Dragon Ball as a child which both fills me with sadness and happiness. I envy those people who had Dragon Ball impact their early life but I'm also pleased to have had the chance to view the entire series consecutively and without nostalgia to influence my final opinion.
We are starting to live in a politically correct world where entertainment is beginning to stagnate. You want to make some light hearted jokes? Not allowed, someone might be offended. Dragon Ball doesn't care and welcomes jokes and stereotypes without giving a damn. Dragon Ball is the most humour filled Anime that
...
I've ever seen and I've laughed incredibly hard over the most simple things.
The story is rather fragmented; consisting of multiple arcs and fillers. The main story isn't really about the Dragon Balls but Goku growing up and becoming continually stronger and making a few friends along the way.
I watched the remastered version which has better colouring. The original colours are very washed out looking in comparison. The art is decent considering the time period.
The sounds are very good. Good OP and decent ED.
The characters are great. Master Roshi and Goku are my two personal favourites.
I really enjoyed this series. I originally began watching it before sleeping to relax but it didn't take long before realizing that I was watching four or five episodes per day. The series is highly addicting and while some arcs can be bad (Muscle Tower... ) it's a really funny Anime with lots of heart.

I've been watching Naruto for a very long time. I've read the entire Manga and completed Naruto (Part 1) I've also seen a few of the movies and all the ova's and specials.
The story is utter garbage. It's dragged out and supplemented with horribly written filler arcs. The pacing is painfully slow and unnecessary. The battles are relatively interesting but there is too much needless talk and deliberation.
The art/animation is inconsistent and changes from episode to episode. It's usually very poorly done and while this might be good for saving money and time. Naruto is one of the most heavily marketed Anime in
...
the world, it should have enough funds to pay for decent Animation.
The characters are the best thing about this series. My personal favourites being Madara, Sasuke, Itachi, Orochimaru, Naruto, Kakashi, Hinata and Jiraiya. These characters are pretty deep and deal with their own struggles.
The sound is pretty good. Good OP and ED's.
It's enjoyable to watch but people need to stop rating it so highly. It's not a masterpiece, it's not perfect and it's pretty damn overrated but it does provide me with lots of entertainment and I'm still watching after 399 episodes... I like this series but lets not pretend its as great as the classics.

I'll start by saying that this movie in my opinion is quite overrated. I've heard it mentioned on numerous times and finally decided to give it a try.
This movie has a good idea but bad execution. The manipulation of dreams provided an interesting showcase of animation, it's all very colourful and nice to look at however... What exactly was the plot again?... from my perspective, this movie lasted for 90 minutes yet barely had any character development or story progression.
The last 30 minutes were the only truly enjoyable part. The midway point feeling like a chore, I had to pause the movie
...
and take a few minutes to relax.
If you're thinking this movie is Sci-fi... well, I'm sorry but the summery lied. This movie is purely fantasy except for a few references to technology known as "DC Mini" which fair enough, does allow for people to share dreams but this is soon forgotten after the first 40 minutes. The main characters don't even need the "DC Mini" any longer.
The art/animation is great and the character designs are pretty good although these characters are very uninteresting and not very likeable. I'll be honest "Tokita" is one of my most hated characters.
You might be thinking that I'm calling this movie horrible or that I dislike it. No, not true. I actually enjoyed the animation, the sound and the conclusion to the story. I enjoyed the movie and for that reason, I'm giving it 8/10.

Why do Bats hide during the Day and come out at Night?
The focus on this short movie is placed upon the Bat; an Animal belonging to neither the beasts nor the birds. The story is simplistic, two factions are at war over an undisclosed reason; each side mercilessly killing the other for simply being different.
This Anime aired in 1930. The animation is ancient compared to today's standards but its got a certain undefinable charm like most old Anime. The art, animation and voice work isn't the reason for watching this short movie. The reason is to gain respect for older styles of animation
...
and to glimpse back into the past at what Anime once was and enjoy it.
The story is average but entertaining. It's a measly 10 minutes and worth watching if you want to hear an interesting tale about a Bat and a moral lesson in discrimination.

I've seen Death Note four times, twice subbed and twice dubbed. This series is renown worldwide as a cultural icon of Anime. You ask a random person to name an Anime; Death Note will be there with Cowboy Bebop, Attack On Titan and Pokemon.
This series is a complex look at morality and poses some very interesting questions. It's a tale of how power corrupts even the purest of intentions. The protagonist of this story originally has the goal for peace through administering justice upon the guilty but his own sense of justice quickly begins to morph throughout the early episodes. What starts as a
...
noble cause becomes a selfish grab for dominance over society, taking pleasure in his intellectual superiority in a game against anyone who dare challenge him.
The other great thing about this series apart from the story itself is the characters. Lets not forget the amazing and talented Miyano, Mamoru who voices Light, you might know him from Steins;Gate where he voices Okabe. The voice acting is superb on the Japanese side and also a surprisingly good dub for anyone interested.
This series is a must watch for fans of Anime, it also serves as a great gateway Anime to introduce new fans. This Anime for me is the one which changes my perspective on Anime from a simple hobby to one of my main interests. I'd also recommend that fans of this Anime check out the live action movies. There is three of them and each has a full Japanese cast.
