~~ This isn't going to be a review, but an appreciation message to an adaptation that I am so in love with. One that elevates the source material and makes the anime feel like a completely new cinematic experience. ~~
It feels kinda empty, now that the series is over. I am writing this while tearing up from joy mixed with sadness. I've been hyped and excited about this anime for a long time and wasn't disappointed by it at all. community in 2014. The amount of love and care that was put into crafting every little detail in it is astounding.
Seeing some people say the adaptation wasn't that great, needs a remake and that it needs new staff members makes me lose hope in humanity. But again, it's to be expected to get hate when it's a new show, especially one that doesn't sound like most generic shows that get produced nowadays. And to the ones complaining about the CGI, it clearly shows that you are simply ignorant drama queens that can do nothing in life but complain.
This anime although definitely had its own flaws, it didn't affect my overall experience and enjoyment. Everything from the direction, the visuals, the storyboarding, the additional scenes that added that extra little something to the show, the OSTs and the new EDs every week, were all perfect. I am simply happy and I hope to get to witness the rest of the series get adapted with the same passion that was present during this.
In the end, I am just going to say to anyone who reads this, is to give it a try, experience its beauty on your own and be open-minded so you could truly enjoy it as it is cause it's worth it.

Occultic;Nine great story, yet was so rushed with not enough time to explore.
Story: 9
The story of Occultic;Nine is simply beautiful. I am not a genius and I am not into physics, but the fact that I have at some point heard of these theories and predictions made the show's idea easy to digest and more enjoyable. The show creators tried to be creative with their direction with the unpredictable camera angels and positions, lighting, and the art style in general. Yet what it lacked the most was a decent pacing that gave everything time to settle and be understood.

viewer is forced to interact and introduced to so much information and characters that it feels like we are in a race or something. Even the character's dialogue goes insanely fast that I had to stop multiple times in order to read and understand what's going on.
Then the series takes things slowly for about 2 episodes then it turns insane again. It's a pattern that keeps repeating itself over and over again. I was able to accept it and get over it, but it's understandable that many can't and find it annoying and hard to follow.
Personally, what I loved the most was that it was a mix of mystery, sci-fi, and paranormal activities that ended up (mostly) making sense and that it was still grounded into reality. However, we didn't get all the answers to all the mysteries and questions raised and it's a shame in my opinion given how little a 12 episodes was for such a LN that has a lot to explore with many characters as well. Yet the story is interesting enough to hold one's attention and forces you to use your mind and think other than waiting to be told the answers for free. It was basically like a puzzle mixed with a prediction game which was fun yet sadly rushed.
Characters: 7
The characters I must say that they were really essential to the plot and with time we get to understand were the show's name is driven from. Even though, they were not that special. The story behind most of the characters is decent and so are their actions, but they are not that unique nor were they explored further in order to reach their full potential. As well for us to feel connected to them to care about them. I think the characters were mostly stereotypical one's, yet they were able to fit the plot perfectly.
The series contains a lot of characters, which was tiring at first getting introduced to most of them at the same time (again rushed). Not all the characters had real understandable motives to commit what they had done whether they were good or bad. So we don't end up with much character development in my opinion.
Art: 9
The art was the most impressive thing about this show. I mean it was what hooked me to continue giving it a try because of how beautiful it was. It was very creative, detailed, with great color pallets and character designs that fit the characters perfectly well.
I wish we had more animes that take this art approach as it's so wonderful.
VA / Music: 7
The ED song was what made me watch it tbh. I freaking love it as well as the OP. However, there were no other memorable ost or soundtracks that I took notice of.
The VA for Gamon was the best out of them all in my opinion. Yet all the other main characters did a good job as well, so not much to be said about it.
Enjoyment: 8
I enjoyed this series, even though it took me a whole week to finish it lol. Honesty, it's not the type of series that will be enjoyed if you force and binge watch it. So take your time to digest it to the fullest.

I have been waiting for so long for this adaptation and it was one of my most waited animes this season, yet all my hope was gone at this point. I waited till the fourth episode to judge this adaptation, but there is no hope for it to get better. I don't know how or what happened during the director's head when he thought of how to adapt off this beautiful manga, but all I can say is that It's truly one of the worst adaptations that I have ever seen in my life. censoring, the terrible static still images, the skips, and the amount of content that was taken out. I am utterly disappointed and I haven't been like this since the second season of Tokyo Ghoul. Please if anyone is interested in this type of story and loves Shakespeare / Shojo / BL stories then please give this one a try as it was butchered by this adaptation.

This show is an utter failure. I saw the trailer when it first dropped out and can't lie, I was looking forward to it. But what I got was a weird, incoherence Show that's trying so hard to give fan service yet hook you into the story. They drop you in the middle of the episode excepting you to go along with the flow. And while I did continue with it it was only out of my pure boredom and me slacking from my assignments.
Finally, I have no connection whatsoever with any of the characters that we meet so far nor do I truly care

about the story as it has a very weak almost non-existence plot. The animation is the only good thing about this show, but it has no point when everything else is bad. I will finish it only for the sake of adding it to my watched list, nothing more. But I honestly don't recommend it unless you have nothing better to do with your life and want to escape your assignments.

Well, the story of the anime wasn't really controversial in my opinion as someone who was born and raised in the middle east. Here it is usually accepted to have an age gap that goes for even 15 years apart. Although of course, it ain't everyone's cup of tea, including myself. Just to get that out of the way.
Now my real issue with the anime is the characters and the lack of actual development in both them and the story. I am usually a sucker for romance/shojo animes/manga, but this one didn't click right with me at all. Maybe because I felt that we

don't really have any real connections with the main characters. Hell' even they themselves don't seem to know that much about each other, which is truly lame. I think this show had the potential to be good, yet it failed miserably. I wanted to explore the characters more and see them stuck in actual events that would show their true nature, but we got no progress with any of the characters.
To sum it up, there is nothing special in this anime. It's your average romance show. I know that I won't be remembering it a few years from now for other than how controversial it was perceived when it came out. You can watch it if you have nothing else to.

So I decided to write my first review ever about this show because I am honestly really disappointed. I am not going to talk in depth about the story in order to not spoil much about it. So if you would like a general review then ago ahead.
As an anime only fan, to me the first season had a couple of boring episodes but that was until the last 3 episodes which were amazing in my opinion. It got me really hyped up for the story, and I went right away to read some manga chapters and I spoiled some new info on myself. Yet

it only made my hype and anticipation grow bigger for the next season once I heard that it was confirmed.
Now let's talk about the story in this season. I don't know how to start on this one, but this season had been a terrible roller coaster. The first episode was incredible in every possible way but then it kept getting worse and worse. With the pacing ending up being very weird you can absolutely feel how rushed it is. A lot of things were introduced to us just to be left unclear ans it only gave us more questions than answers. The whole story at this point was about how Emma is feeling. Her being irrational and wanting to change the world without any sacrifices is absolutely ridiculous. And the fact that everyone around her simply agrees to her ideas just because "that's Emma, she is kind hearted and cares about everyone" is absolutely annoying and no that'snot how things work. Because at that point it's not about being good anymore, she's just simply selfish. And the fact that no one died or got heavily injured throughout that whole shit is quite stupid.
Character wise, we got introduced to multiple new characters which was great, but we didn't really get any chance to like them or sympathise with any of them. If any of them would have died I wouldn't have really given any shit. Which is sad because as the story the characters had great potential if only they were written right.
Now I am not gonna talk a lot about this but I never imagined that it's humanly possible to ruin a good story that much. I was and still I am completely shocked with how everything got resolved at the end and us seeing still images of all the achievements that they had done and them succeeding, was just so sad because it had a lot of damn potential. I would have loved to see and be able to feel what they went through and how they made it through the end.
I really wanted to be part of their journey and to witness them grow through it, but unfortunately it wasn't as I expected.
To sum it up, this anime had great potential with good story and interesting characters but they ruind it. I wouldn't say that no one should watch it, but if you are going for it, then give it a try but don't expect much of it as it will only disappoint you at the end. It was a fine season in my opinion. Will It resonate with me? Yes, but as a terrible adaptation just like what happend to Tokyo Ghoul so it's not new to me.
