I've been cut off from anime for a while. So when a friend of mine suggested to try watching this, I thought, okay! Might be a good transition! And it was; the first few episodes were interesting, and gave the feel of a dark story. By episode 10, I felt sorry for the characters.

Now, I haven't read the manga, so I don't know when or how the anime deviated, but the frivolous story lines were painful to watch. The supportive characters didn't completely get a chance to shine, while the main character Ceil, was a seriously whiny crutch to the supposedly awesome Sebastian.

The animation ... wasn't spectacular either. At times it did improve, like during fighting scenes, but otherwise, there was nothing that made it standout.

No character development, not much a plot development, and it ended in an obscure and unrewarding way that made me want to cry.

If you want to watch it because of the manga, go ahead, but it was a huge disappointment for me.
