Definitely a good watch. But, if you are expecting the non-stop action and fights that the OG series has, then you will be let down. It definitely moves at a much slower pace as well.
Learning that there is indeed an "EAT" class and a "NOT" class, depending on an individuals power and will to fight and the differences between the two, was enlightening. The story centers around the three MC's, all female students in the "NOT" class, and it goes through out their stay at the DWMA as they try to cope with their abilities while trying to still live a regular, normal life
...
w/o all the fighting that the students in the "EAT" class are preparing for. You learn about the daily routines of the students, and the hardships that accompany them as they try to hone their abilities. Being able to see this secondary path the students can take at the DWMA was a great concept. The series definitely focuses on friendship, which the OG series does as well, but in a less coarse way unlike the OG. At times this series does slow to a snail's pace in terms of the plot. But, if you stick with it, it does pick up in intensity towards the latter part of the series. All of this is done in a very cutesy way. Almost too cutesy at times. (Lol)
You also get to meet a good amount of the original characters as well, as they make sporadic appearances throughout this series. It was very awesome to see them all in the "early' years at the DWMA, and how their roles took shape. You also get a good amount of background on them through this series, which answered a fair amount of questions that I had after finishing the OG series.
The characters are developed very well. You learn almost everything you need to know about the characters in a timely manner, and the relationships between characters are developed very smoothly. The flash backs and back story is all well placed, eliminating a lot of the possible confusion that could've come about if it wasn't.
The art style/ animation used is very good. Very consistent with what you'd come to expect for a Soul Eater series. Same with the music. Each character has unique physical traits, and definitely all are unique.
Overall, the series provides a good amount of enjoyment. It is a worthy prequel to the OG series, and provides you with some great background. They did a great job in connecting the two series, while not taking away from the originality of this current series.

Not your typical harem, but a harem nonetheless.
What really caught my interest when deciding to watch this series was the concept of the whole "Death Flag", "Love Flag" and etc. But, as you dive into the series, it kinda deviates from that concept at times, and becomes a bit inconsistent. At some points, I was actually wondering when the concept was going to present itself again. What was a good concept was detailed and presented very choppily.
This series definitely had its ups, and its downs. I feel as if it was struggling to find its identity. Yes, as you begin the series it is
...
definitely you typical harem. Especially when you realize how many beautiful girls actually surround the MC. But, unlike most harems where the underlying story/plot isn't really built upon, this series tilts back and forth between harem and the story/plot. Definitely something that I was not expecting. The fact that it also goes into the details of why the girls are drawn to the MC and all the situations causing such does separate it from traditional harem. One instant you are in this cutesy moment or you go through 20 minutes of romance and comedy. But suddenly, BANG! You're hit with some seriousness and they try to build upon the story. Though it is a refreshing idea, it doesn't quite pan out smoothly.
The art/animation of the series is decent. The girls are all unique, but the style itself isn't all that tremendous. Certainly not bad. But certainly not the greatest. The sound was good, as the music really does convey to the emotions being shown in the particular moment. the music does in fact set the tone/mood of the episode itself. Again, going back to the being cutesy/comedic one moment, then being serious the next.
The characters are decent. They are developed fairly well. Although I will tell ya it was difficult to keep track of names. The series does give you the back story as to why they are drawn to the MC which is highly unique IMO. Also, each girl is given their own characteristics. They aren't all the same, just given different eye and hair color. They have unique personalities and are all different from one another.
Overall, worth a watch if you are looking for something to fill some time with.

**SPOILER WARNING**
At first, this series seemed to be extremely intriguing. I liked the premise of the story, and the art/animation style is gorgeous. But unfortunately, for a majority of the series, that's the only thing that I could say positive.
Alka is an assassin for the Clan of the Sword. She's on a journey to find Jin Varrel, who killed her master Hon. Jin is a demon-like woman who controls the Energy of Chaos and kills without feeling, which is similar to how Alka has learned to kill in her work as an assassin. On her journey, Alka meets three gorgeous, strange women, each a great
...
warrior in her own right and grapples with her slain master's wish that she leave the life of an assassin behind.
Sounds promising right? This series has great potential. But, it develops far too slowly for me. The action, when it does show, is very exciting. But does not occur frequently enough. Like most series, there are flashbacks and back stories that are needed to be shown. Unfortunately, I feel as if it took way too much time, and deviated from the primary plot too often.
I feel as if the series relied too often on the bombshell beauties' looks to maintain the viewers attention. Yes, the female characters are gorgeous. But that can only take a series so far. That being said, the animation style used is outstanding. I thought the colors used really conveyed to the mood of each situation/episode. Same could be said of the music.
Overall, a wonderfully animated series with some great characters. Some great action. But far too much emphasis on the gorgeous (big breasted) characters looks. The series was very slow to develop, and was boring at times.

Beautiful girls and dragons. With a ton of fanservice.
Seikoku no Dragonar is definitely your typical harem. The entire series based around the hero, who has multiple girls fall in love with him. The difference is, this series throws dragons into the mix.
Brief summary: Learning to ride and tame dragons comes easy to most students at Ansarivan Dragonar Academy except for first-year student Ash Blake. Ash is the laughing stock at school because, despite his unfashionably large star-shaped brand that marks him as a future dragon master, he has nothing to show for it. His dragon has never appeared. One fateful day, Ash's dragon awakes
...
in full glory, but appears different than any dragon ever seen before, in the form of a beautiful girl, Eco! What's worse, Ash soon discovers that this new dragon has attitude to spare, as she promptly informs him that she is the master, and he, the servant. Ash's problems with dragon riding have only just begun. But as the series progresses, Eco begins to develop feelings for Ash, and their relationship soon begins to take on a new shape.
The story is definitely not the most unique plot that I have ever watched and is highly predictable. The MC helps girl, the girl falls in love, and the cycle is repeated as is true with most harems. It has a ton of action, and does transition very smoothly. It was not confusing in the slightest bit. The best aspect of the story however are the dragons. It's very interesting and intriguing to see the relationship the dragons and humans have, and to see them work together to accomplish goals. The story is indeed a fun ride though if you don't nitpick at every little detail.
The art and sound of the series are good. I enjoyed all the music used and thought it fit the mood of each episode and series as a whole. The characters are unique from one another. You don't have the cookie cutter anime girl used for all the females. Plus, they are all animated very well.
Other than that, you have the fan service. The fan service definitely plays a huge role in this series, and is present in almost every episode. Although, I must say that I don't feel it was being shoved down my throat as with some other series.
Overall, if you are looking for a series that has action, beautiful girls, and dragons, this show is for you. It has great deal of fan service, and the story will keep you entertained. It is a fun ride, though very predictable, but in the end will keep your interest if you don't over analyze it.

One of the more anticipated series of the Spring season, this series definitely did not live up to those expectations. That being said, the series is very good. I mean, the entire series is based on teenage girl assassins, with very little side story. What's not to like? Throw a little yuri into it and it becomes a fairly interesting series.
A brief summary: The story is set at Myoujou Academy, a private girls' boarding school. The 10th year's Kurogumi (Black) class has 12 assassins with their sights on one target, Haru Ichinose. Tokaku Azuma is a recent transfer student who is also targeting Ichinose,
...
but she gradually develops feelings for Ichinose, and becomes her protector. And that's really all you need to know. The show's plot is very straight forward and basic at best. But it has a ton of action, with some puzzles that need to be solved. But the viewer doesn't really need to solve them. Tokaku solves them for you. LOL
Each episode centers around one or two of the assassins and their attempt to assassinate Haru. During the episode, you learn of their motives, and reasoning behind why they are participating. Each assassin has a unique situation which drives them which is something I really enjoyed about the series.
In regards to the music and "art", they both were very good in the series. Each episode has it's own ED, which is very unique and something I rarely see. The character were drawn fantastically and the animation is spot on.
Probably the biggest negative I have is the length. I think the series could've used another few episodes to further explain things. At a few points, I felt the episode and series was being rushed a tad bit due to the time constraints.
Overall, Akuma No Riddle isn't the best series of the season, but it's far from being bad. It's filled with a ton of action, and doesn't stray too far from it's straight forward plot. The premise of the series kept me interested, and the series should keep you entertained if you aren't looking for a series that requires a ton of wit and thinking.

First of all, as I was looking through all the series for the Spring 14 season, this series wasn't on my radar at first. It became sort of a throw in "just because." But boy am I glad I decided to watch it!
A teen, Nanana, who was killed, is chained to a single room in an apartment complex for a school. She was part of a group that hunted down treasures that each had a special power and weakness. Only "Adventure Club" (whose sole purpose is to continue hunting down the treasures) members are allowed to live there with her. Juugo, who has many
...
personal problems of his own, is enrolled at the school and is assigned that particular room. At first, their relationship was rather shaky, and really was only help together by the fact that she was a cute roommate. But, as the series progresses, you see their relationship expand, and Juugo puts his ego aside to help Nanana. Throw some villains, a master detective, and a few secret organizations (as well as other characters) into the fray, it makes for a very entertaining series.
Not to spoil the series, the story is very good and pretty unique. It's sometimes hard to incorporate a "ghost" character into a series, but I feel as if this series did it very well. There is a ton of action, some romance, puzzles, a good amount of comedy, and even a tad bit of fanservice in there for you fanservice junkies.
The art and sound are very solid. No real flaws. The soundtrack used is very enjoyable and fits the series very well. The animation style is slightly unique, and all the characters are crisply animated.
The characters are very well developed for the most part. You don't get a ton of inter-character relationships until the later episodes. And at some points, you are left wondering what the connection is. But rest assured, you will get some answers. I like that romance wasn't a theme that was being forced down my throat, and the fanservice was not a major focal point of the series.
The negatives- I was slightly confused at times with the relationships between some of the characters, given not much back story or flashbacks. Also, the length of the series. 11 episodes makes it slightly shorter, and may have caused the series to be rushed a tad bit.
Overall, the series is extremely enjoyable and entertaining. It has very few negatives, and if you are looking for a series that has action, comedic moments, and not a typical run of the mill plot, you should definitely give this series a watch!

This series is somewhat of an enigma. The concept of Wizards defending Wizards in a Magic Court was a very unique idea and plot. Sudo Cecil is your lead character, who happens to be a "Wizard Barrister" working for Butterfly Law Office. She is looking for answers about her past and discovers not only the truth, but is thrown into many difficult, dangerous situations. The characters development in the series is extremely well done. As is the relationship development between them. You get a clear idea of the relationship each character has to each other. With a few exceptions of course. Each episode takes
...
you on its own journey, while keeping its own place in the main storyline. The characters were unique in design and animated extremely well. There was also instances of comedic perversion/fanservice that had me laughing on frequent occasions, but wasn't something that was being pushed on fans.
The negatives I have are why the overall rating isn't higher. First, the story tends to drift at times which causes some confusion, for me at least, at times. Also, though beautifully animated, a few episodes seemed to be very choppy and did not transition well between scenes. Finally, I feel as if there are more episodes (a 2nd season) there will be ample times for better closure and for the storyline to mature and develop much more.
This series has great potential, especially with the unique premise for the series. But, as it stands, it doesn't live up to that potential. At least not yet.

This series is one of the few series that truly stood out when I was making my decisions of what to watch. A fairly normal, typical school girl who has trouble making friends, turns out to be the central role is just fantastic and refreshing. The way the characters/powers, based off of some of the most infamous, famous persona's in history, are portrayed in this series is something that I have never seen in any other series. Using these historical figures to inspire the characters or "reincarnations" could prove to be difficult. But it was done extremely well in this case. Being able to
...
develop the chemistry between the team members, and develop each character so in-depth is just one of the many reasons this series is so great. Other than that, the story and plot are extremely entertaining and unique, and there is a ton of action! Every episode brings about another wave of action and includes some very well placed comedic relief. Lets not forget to mention some of the budding romance, and extreme comradery between some of the said characters that makes for some interesting scenarios and situations. There is indeed some fanservice, which exists in a majority of series these days. But it's not to the degree that it will overwhelm you. In the end, this series leaves you wanting more.

A-1 and Aniplex really scored a hit with this one! In this extremely original, unique series, you get a combination of comedy, action, drama, romance, and even a little fanservice all wrapped into a great little package! The characters are developed very well, as are the relationships and backgrounds of each of the said characters. The plot and how the series develops is extremely unique and entertaining. But also conveys that you can achieve your dreams no matter how small or what gender you are, or what the odds are against you. Every episode has it's own significant story to it and theme to be
...
taken from it, but all the while adding to the overall plot of the series. You will be continually drawn into this entertaining series more and more as you watch. Great action. Ton of comedy. And an intriguing plot. This is a winner for sure! (Season 2 PLEASE!)
"May the light of Zvezda shine throughout this world!"

Romance and comedy comes together quite well! This is a rare occasion that I've watched a "yuri" genre series. But this series is a lot more than just that. Friendship, caring for one another, and being there for one another is what I got most out of this series. Sure it's nice to see cute girls kissing but this series does a great job of not focusing on that. The kisses are well placed so that the story itself is not interrupted. It's a great story! The art and music are fantastic, and the character development is superb. It's very cute, and also leaves you
...
wanting more! Overall, this series is quite unique, and is different. It was a nice change up. : D I do wish there were more episodes for sure.
