While Mushoku Tensei might be a series whose fantasy setting is probably the furthest you could imagine from ReLIFE's more realistic world, they both have the same core appeal. You are here to watch the protagonist overcome the demon's of their past, more specifically, their failures to properly integrate into society. If you like stories where the protagonist is given a second chance at trying to integrate themselves into society, attempts to better themselves as a person, and grow thanks to the support of those who do love them, then this story is a story for you.

While both series are most definitely a comedy series, they both use and blend their comedic elements with other aspects of the story. The comedy is used to accentuate scenes, either by giving an outlet for the dramatic tension, or by exploring aspects of the characters that exist in their worlds. The comedy is also character driven. Rather than creating silly one-liners and then reusing them when the author runs out of idea, both series uses the quirks and relationships between their characters to create humor. While Saiki Kusuo has more meta moments because of the fantastical nature of psychic powers allows for such things, it never fails to deliver on laughs that are due to the characters. Lastly, both series has an ever evolving status quo. The changing nature of people's relationships is what makes both series truly enjoyable.

Do you like MCs who are nice to people who are kind to them, but absolutely shits on anybody who tries to fuck with them? Or the kind that are super lazy scumbags but always do the right thing? How about also being incredibly cultured? Well if you enjoy Kazuma you'll probably like Leon, who has to suffer through the pains of an Otome game, while also crushing the pride of douche bags.

Both stories take place in a "not exactly Earth but very similar" setting, and roughly the same time period (1800s-1900s). Both MCs are talented military officers who employ clever military strategies to win difficult battles. Both stories have a heavy focus on the politics of their nations, while also focusing on how those changes affect the groups of people we the reader follow.
