Both anime feature the development of a deep friendship between two men, that get to know each other through the challenges they face, that kind of relationship that makes them go the extra mile for each others. Sk8 does not have the drama mystery genre, feature case solving, which made me a bit hesitant to recommend it at first, but the connection and dynamic between the main characters are in the similar realm for those who are looking for that male-friend-could-be-romance-if-you-want-to-interpent-it-that-way style - I think it's worth a watch :)
