Classroom of the Elite review.
Plot:
(=) Although off to a slow and confusing start, after season 2 started it picked up pace and we saw the rise and developments of not only Ayanokōji the MC but many “villains” and other geniuses in the school. The plot was really interesting to watch, consisting of many different classes battling in such genius ways and many different special tests. This plot was really unique and certainly very interesting. Surprisingly brilliant storyline for a school based anime. However, some may still find the plot confusing and it is arguable that the plot had no overall progression but just the classes

fighting.
Characters:
(+) This one is obvious. Not only do we have the coldest main character Ayanokoji, but many really intriguing characters. They all developed and learned and even the perfect human Ayanokoji learns things throughout the anime. All the characters are very interesting and fight in their own genius ways, but their personality isn’t exaggerated so much and are realistic. Either way all the characters brought their own unique personality and were all interesting to watch.
Sound:
(=) Since it’s not an action packed anime, there weren’t many places for possible cool sounds. Just normal sounds you would expect to hear from something based around a school, like the sounds of people speaking at a canteen, sounds of footsteps, papers, e.t.c. However, the voice actors were good, great voice acting from all of them which really added and fit to each of their characters. Ayanokoji had a particularly notable voice which really suits him.
Art:
(+) The art was stunning. All of the school, nature, and characters looked amazing throughout the anime. However, a noticeable quality drop appeared in the art after the second half of S2, but everything still looked fine. It is also necessary to consider the fact that Lelerch are under pressure from many fans urging the production to go faster. Overall, the art throughout the anime was fairly consistent and really nice to look at. Also, in the manga the art was absolutely beautiful. I hope they will have art like those in the mangas.
Animation:
(=) Again, there isn’t much potential in cool animations for an anime which isn’t revolving around fighting and any action. The animation was smooth, clean, and looked pleasing to the eye. Apart from that there is not much else to say about the animation. It was good.
Overall:
I think COTE was a really interesting and awesome anime to watch. By season 2 I was hooked and it was really fascinating to see just how smart some of the students were (obviously Ayanokoji) and the different ways in which he manipulated everything left me intrigued and shocked. The anime rounded off nicely in S3 and I look forward to a bright future for COTE with upcoming seasons, they still need to finish Y2 and Y3 for the anime!
2(+) 3(=)
9/10.
