This is, so far, the final season of You're Under Arrest! And it wraps up the series wonderfully. Every episode feels important to the story and character development, unlike the previous season. We continue this season with more episodic buddy cop action, but the subplots all drive toward a singular purpose.

The last episode is a little bit of a let down, but if you count the second to last as the last we get perfect resolutions to the important plot points with no useless information attached. We get some kind of resolution to the Miyuki/Ken OTP drama, and a solid crime solved. I personally would ... like a more resolute ending in some of the aspects of the show, but the vague endings add to the appeal of the show overall.

I wouldn't say that this anime is good by any objective standards, but damn is it enjoyable. This show centers around Haruka and Yu, who are close friends that become "special friends" (they make out with each other). That's the majority of the appeal of the show. If you like watching cute girls make out, this is a perfect anime for you.

Beyond the surface level yuri, a lot of the scenes between the characters can actually be touching and sweet. The way the two main characters explore how they really feel about each other is very similar to what someone would experience in highschool, same ... sex relationship or not. The characters themselves are nothing too special, but their interactions seem mostly genuine and realistic.

The general story just follows the two main characters and their relationship together, but there are many scenes that seem forced for pointless. Visually, the show is nothing special. They attempt boob physics but it comes off more as comical than sensual.

Overall, this show is very enjoyable if you like drama and cute girls kissing. It is nothing special, but can put a smile on your face and pass the time.

There are only two things wrong with this show: The first is it either has too much yuri in the beginning or not enough yuri in the end, depending on your tastes. The other things is that it only has 12 episodes.

The story and the art styles are definitely the best thing about this series. Every scene has a purpose in the greater plot, and the fight scenes especially are stunningly beautiful, if not highly detailed. That being said, the sounds of the show and the music in general are somewhat forgettable, though there are certain moments that the music makes.

The characters in the show ... have clear progression, and all of them have their part. Even when certain characters have predictable arcs, they are executed perfectly. The only thing keeping the characters to a 9 instead of a 10 is that the ending, and the character arcs that go with it, seemed a bit rushed and would have benefited from a 13th episode in the season.

Overall, I came into this anime with it being listed in the genre "Cute Girls Do Each Other" and expected it to be soft core porn with a plot. I was absolutely wrong, but in the best way.

A wonderful story following Nanako and Yukari, two ordinary high school girls, through their time as local idols. The day to day activities of what it means to be a Locodol, as well as the effect it has on family and school life, are portrayed incredibly well in the series. The story avoids unrealistic outcomes or tasks for a brand new idol duo, and very successfully makes events and themes work for both a slice of life of ordinary girls as well as an idol anime.

The art of the show is a little lacking, though that is not to say it is bad. The art ... style is fairly standard; the only real exception being the wide shots of scenery.

The sound is another area that was disappointing, though only for a specific reason. The actual songs that we hear the girls sing in the show are lackluster. The final song of the series is definitely the exception, but in general we hear the same songs through the entirety of the show and the songs aren't particularly catchy or memorable.

The characters in the show are definitely a highlight. Nanako is incredibly believable as a real person who could really exist, and the same goes to Yukari to a limited extent. Nanako isn't exceptional, but also doesn't feel inept to the point of it being annoying. She is a very relate-able every-man. Yukari is similar: she is shown to come from a wealthy upbringing and is very well mannered, but still comes across as someone who could have gone to the viewers school.

Overall this anime was very enjoyable, and will definitely be one that I plan on watching again. It is a definite pick-me up of a show.

Kemono Friends started off poorly for me. The 3D animation is jarring and unnatural looking, distracting from the rest of the show. By the 2nd or 3rd episode though it is no longer really noticeable. The sounds and music are solid, but it has one of my pet peeves where the character "Boss" makes squeaking noises every time he takes a step.
The story is actually quite good and fulfilling, if predictable. There are some deep or tense moments, but nothing to really tear up over. It really is just about building an interesting world full of interesting animal friends. It's also rather educational about how ... animals behave and where they live.
Pretty solid anime that apparently was paired with a game no one played.

This anime follows two groups of characters: the adult kindergartner teachers centering on Tsuchida, and the kindergartners themselves centering on Anzu. Right away a bridge is established between the two groups, with Anzu being a flirt and madly in love with Tsuchida. It is very cute and endearing to start off with, but quickly becomes old and boring. The show even goes so far as to lay out exactly what the love triangle and love arc of the show is at one point. The sound gets a worse score here than it probably should, mainly because all of the kids make a squeaking noise with ... every step they take. The characters are well done for what it matters, but I personally find the story lacking and too cliche driven, even for a genre made from cliches.

The premise of this show is absolutely absurd and is an excuse for the anime to be a softcore porn. That being said, if you accept the fact that you are in fact just watching porn, it is actually executed pretty well. The plot arcs in the show are rather generic, but are executed well enough to keep you interested. The characters interactions with each other are often incredibly sexual, but in many cases they have deep or thoughtful conversations about the tasks and issues at hand without it sounding like an excuse to get to the next girl on girl scene. The girl on ... girl intimate actions also drops off towards the latter half of the series, but the girl on girl fighting action picks up for some pretty memorable and intense fight sequences. Overall, not a bad anime if you're ok with watching porn.

This show is a struggle to get through and largely forgettable for multiple reasons. The art style and music are nothing special, though they aren't bad. The story is also thoroughly uneventful and amusing. The main characters just sit around and eat food, and then react in a disturbingly sexual fashion to it. At first this appeared to me as just how this show felt the need to portray how good the food was; that everyone in this show's universe would go into throws of passion with every bite. Then at one point, the mother of one of the characters makes a comment about how ... she is glad it's not just her daughter who reacts this strangely to eating. This has some strange implications that it is only these girls who react this strongly to food and it's not a stylized way of portraying unseen emotions but instead they actually fully react the way they do on screen. When you take into account how often they eat in public or semi public places, this becomes kind of disgusting.

You're Under Arrest the Movie is absolutely stunning and blew me away. I had just finished watching the first season and the specials, so I came in with context of all the characters and how they interact, but I was watching with a friend who had 0 context and they also loved it.
It encapsulates all of the best elements of the anime series that came before it. This movie is riddle with action and intense situations, but treats them all realistically. The chemistry between the characters, their dialogue and their teamwork, all fits together flawlessly and doesn't come off as awkward or cliche at any ... moment. The story keeps you on your toes the whole time; even when it is a relatively calm moment you still have that sense that the scene is driving the plot forward. This is an hour and a half experience where even if you don't know the story of You're Under Arrest you will enjoy yourself immensely.

Truly the end of the K-on!! Story that we deserved. The wonderful artwork, the music of both the background and the performances, and the ability for the characters to completely express their words and thoughts remains just as good and powerful as the show. While it starts a little slow, especially if you've seen the special on the group preparing to travel, the story is completely commanding of your attention and is a real tear jerker in some instances. The relationship between all of the girls, but especially between the older ones and Azusa is giving a beautiful resolution that, while somewhat predictable, is wonderfully ... executed and exiting to watch play out.
