When I saw the low scores this was getting, I thought it was people being overly critical of an anime again, but after seeing it. I understand what they're talking about.

The limited animation they went with makes me think of that other Netflix anime called 'Back Street Girls: Gokudols'. I think for that it was fine since it was it's own thing, but for a series so anticipated as 'The Way of the Househusband'. I feel like it kind of backfired. Rumor has it the creator wanted it this way, but I don't really know about that considering some parts seem more animated than they ... needed it to be. I think in comparison there are other series that do it better. I will admit, after seeing it, I was a bit disappointed too, but I'll give it a better score because I was finally able to show the series to my fiancee who isn't really able to read the manga. He enjoyed the adaption so that makes me happy.

I didn't know what to expect when I bought this to read. The previews on rightstuf.com didn't show too much except for the chapter covers. I thought maybe it wasn't erotic manga but instead it was in the adult category because of it being gory or something. Even when I breifly flipped through the pages I didn't see anything major with sex, but when I got to reading it....boy was I wrong. Very wrong, oblivious really lol. So now with that out of the way.
This manga can be erotic at times but it mostly consists of "guro" or just gore in general. I can usually ... stomach it but some scenes were so gross I thought I would have vomited. Mainly the itcing chapter. It's stories can be really crazy, reminding me of Junji Ito...except with more sex. Many of the chapters end in such blunt ways and are really silly, then again most of the stories are pretty silly in the first place. One thing that bugged me was that the characters reactions didn't seem genuine.They didn't really give off proper emotion, I wish they did that better. The pacing needed a bit of work too.
I really enjoyed the art work the most. I would like to get more surreal art from this manga artist.
If you like really freaky adult eroge...like REALLY freaky. You will enjoy this.

If you like shows such as "Whos Line is it Anyway?", then you may like this show.
I first discovered this on Crunchyroll and found the image poster to be pretty so I wanted to see what it was like. I suppose you could say the image is rather misleading considering the anime itself consists of cgi motion capture with some stillframe illustrations. I didn't expect myself to watch more after the first episode, but regardless if it was curiosity, enjoyment or the need of always finishing an anime, I kept watching. It's a parody anime that much is obivious. Morso it's an experiment probably with ... some well known voice actors in Japan. If one isn't caught up on current trends or humor from Japan it can easily become lost on American audiences. I think episode 9 is when it started to get pretty funny. The end is rather Madoka-esque and I know it's a parody magical girl show but I was hoping for a more light hearted ending.
Main point! If you like improv shows, you will like this. The animation is less to be desired but it's not really ment to be taken seriously...I'm more curious as to how they made it. I need to look up the behind the scenes for this.

Zyword has a facinating story conscept, the problem I had with it though is that the pacing felt off. It felt like things would happen but would be so quick that it was a bit difficult to kind of understand. Despite this being a former member of CLAMP, there were some issues with some of the art, mainly it felt panels were to squished togeather sometimes. It was still nice to see her artstyle again when it came to the characters. Speaking of, the characters were pretty good too, though once again I felt some of their backstory felt unclear until the second chapter. The ... biggest issue besides the rushed feeling was that is ended on a cliffhanger. There is only one volume to this so I thought it would end in this manga. It's a bit dissappointing. If you really enjoy new fantasy worlds and are not too picky with the storyflow, I would recommend it. It wasn't terrible, but I feel the pacing could have been better.

Ok well, this is my first legitimate anime review so be warned, but of all the animes I have watched and wanted to review, I think this one deserves to be first. Will try to aim for no spoilers.
Well as usual I jump into this anime thinking it will be like something else but then ends up being completely different, and I was not dissappointed. In fact, it was one of those rare animes I became massively invested in, hoping to see the characters be sucessful in their goals, and even when their major goal is not met they seem to end up happy with ... the life they have. The story can really hit hard depending on who you are. I really sympathised a lot with Sato since I have issues like him to an extent (not hikkomori bad but sometimes being around people is stressful). The series itself really displays how relationships and life itself isn't all that easy to understand or simple. Habits that people have are also not so easy to break either, but sometimes it's possible with just the right push. I really recommend this anime to anyone really, espically people who feel confused or lost regarding their life. It really made me think about things too. The one minor thing that bugged me was with one of the episodes, It was animated so differently compared to the rest of the series and it stuck out to me like a sore thumb. I don't know if the animator had an off day or they had another company do it but well, it wasn't bad, but it just wasn't consistant, hence, the art gets a 6.
