If you look at it as anything else then a parody of all that is anime then it's simply just a disappointment. It did a decent job at picking out the most cliché parts of the anime industry like the all-mighty student council, fanservice, lazy revenge plot, random power-ups and what not but watching a single episode of that would be enough. The animation of battles was good but any other part seemed like a slideshow. Art style was not to my liking either, too simple and lazy. There's a limit to how far making fun of something else takes you. At some point you ... have to put something original, something of your own in that to make it special and enjoyable. Kill la Kill failed at that.

The only warning I had received before watching this anime was that I wouldn't like the ending.. And while it was a wild ride from start to finish, I didn't expect this. Yet it's the opposite, I rather like how it ended. I liked the suspense of not knowing if the character will survive or not, I liked how everyone was fighting and killing for their own reasons, I liked that this anime showed that neither side has to be wrong or even right. There are always two sides to a coin and as Run said, only the history will tell which of them was ... the right one.
