Yu Yu Hakusho is an Anime about an aberrant young man named Yusuke Urameshi who is killed while attempting to save a boy’s life. After leaving his body he finds that a place for him in the spirit world is not available! After fulfilling a task given to him, he is resurrected in his old body. This time around his body comes with Spirit Powers, and a few strings attached; he is called upon to work as a Spirit Detective to investigate any suspicious activities brought about by the demon world.
Yusuke's resurrection changes his mind-set and behavior, he slowly discovers new ways to use
...
his Spirit abilities, and faces many strong opponents in his battle for good. Some of his opponents however are inspired by Yusuke Urameshi’s honorable intensions. His love for his friends and family brought about a change in 2 of his most difficult adversaries, namely Kurama and Hiei.
In addition to his two new allies, there exists an on-going rivalry between Yusuke and his schoolmate Kuwabara. Seeing Yusuke possessing great psychic power leads Kuwabara to train harder to develop his own powers, his family line boasting some psychic ability as well. Botan; the Secretary of Heavens aids the four unlikely battling partners, guiding them on their quests and solving mysteries, quite often using a liberal dose of Whoop-@$$.
DARGON / Tera-Alpha's Notes:
I like this Anime Series a lot! I watched all of the episodes that have been aired during the "Adult-Swim" on Cartoon Network at least twice. It is exciting and a bit violant (comparable to DBZ). The plot, and the charachters are as realistic as can be expected considering the situation This anime is GORY and deffanitly NOT intended for younger audiances.

If you can get past the lame opening theme song and the horrific distorted gory fighting graphics that make up the introduction to the series, you may find that there is actually a plot.
In short form, the story is based on a power struggle created by a martial arts master who had no son to pass on his art to in the traditional fashion. His remedy for this situation was to adopt four young boys and train them. Since only one of them could be the master’s successor, the four adopted brothers had to battle for the title by defeating the other three.
The
...
world, in the meantime has been through a nuclear holocaust and only remote pockets of people exist in tiny villages, or in nomadic groups. The four brothers have been separated from each other, and must find each other to compete for the title of Master of the martial art known as Hokuto Shinken.
The main plot focuses on the efforts of the youngest of the four adopted sons, Kenshiro, who uses the art to defend and help the innocent people whose path he crosses in his travels. On one of his travels he hears of a village referred to as the “village of miracles.” This village is so called because of a man who came into the midst of the sick and injured and healed them by using his fingers on “power points.” Kenshiro is pleased when he hears the name of the man who preformed these miracles. It was his adopted brother, Toki! His pleasure is short-lived when he hears that the man who preformed these miracles had become evil and was now busy doing evil experiments on innocent people. Could this man really be his gentle adopted brother whose only ambition was to use Hokuto Shinken as a healing art instead of a fighting method? How could such a change have taken place? Was it his Toki, or an imposter? Follow the episodes to see where Kenshiro’s travels take him and what adventures await him.
As Anime’s go, I would rate this four out of five stars. It is a worthwhile plot and can hold your interest. The fight scenes are a bit gory, but that is expected due to its TVMA rating.

I first came across Photon when a close friend of mine wanted me to watch "The Ding Dong Song" Anime Music Video (a must watch). I was curious about what Anime was being used in it and come to find out it was Photon. After a lot of searching I finally found Photon and got to watch it. It is a very interesting and weird Anime. It is a must see Anime.
The Ding Dong Song AMV:

Photon Earth is the main protagonist, he is extremely strong and fights using a quarterstaff made of black crystal. Has the word "baka" scribbled across his forehead by Aun in
...
black ink as he was trying to lead her back home. He's also able to withstand even the strongest blasts of Aho energy, even when it's focused directly on him.
Aun Freya is Photon's spoiled, high-strung, flighty childhood friend, she has the ability to create stasis fields. Humorously, she isn't immune to her own stasis fields and can paradoxically trap herself (and everything around her) in a perpetual stasis field. Photon is the only one who is immune to her stasis field and also is the only one who can get her and keep her out of such messes.
Keyne Aqua is the rebel space pilot who came to Sandy Planet. Photon inadvertently married her when he wrote the word "baka" in katakana on her forehead in black marker.
Sir Papacharino Nanadan (or Papacha) is the bumbling antagonist. Also quite perverted when it comes to women. He has an obsession with Keyne and will stop at nothing to have her, but is always foiled by Photon's intervening.
Princess Lashara Moon Known as the "Flower of the Galaxy" due to her beauty, she's the daughter of the Galactic Emperor. She's madly smitten with Papacha, but what she didn't know is Papacha was really going to user her marriage to increase his harem.
Bulan The mysterious servant woman to Lashara, donning a strange looking hat (with feminine lips) and skintight purple attire. Usually moves by hovering on a golden platform and arrives with the princess to Sandy Planet to search out the "Singularity Point". However, she seems to know more about Lashara than she really lets on...
Pochis Papacha's cute doll-like henchmen. Excluding Pochi #1 (who acts as a leader figure to the others), there are 28 of them, who refer to each other by their number. Though Papacha believes they're all male, in truth, all the Pochis are really female.

The Cowboy Bebop series is about the adventures of a spaceship called the Bebop and its crew of bounty hunters. This Anime has an impressive combination of sound, visuals, and music. Each episode of Cowboy Bebop is almost like a short movie; only a few times does one episode require advanced knowledge of a previous one for it to make sense. Spike Spiegel is the enigmatic main character, who is complemented by the very cool-headed and likeable Captain of the Bebop; Jet Black. Later in the series various other character will join in, making up the Bebop’s crew; Faye Valentine, Ed and a Genetically enhanced
...
dog, named Ein.
This Anime has a good mix of action, from martial arts, awesome gunplay, to explosive space battles. There is quite a bit of light-hearted humor, but more sinister plots are a part of the whole. The musical scores enhance the overall feel of the show; the retro-jazz type music is unique to say the least. If you listen to only the music, you would never guess that it is in any way connected to an anime, Let alone one’s soundtrack!
DARGON / Tera-Alpha's Notes:
This Anime searies is excelent! I have watched all of the episodes aired on Cartoon Network. The story line is unique in that it comes from a lot of differant directions, and is still exciting. The last episode does seem to be missing something, but there may be more to come; either as another season of the series or an OVA Movie (P.S.: A movie was reliesed some time after this review was originaly made. The movie was quite good, but basicaly like a longer eppisode that was stand alone from the plotline of the series.).

Humans from Earth who created androids known as the "Second Types" colonize mars. People on Mars eventually become paranoid about these very human looking androids, causing riots and lynch mobs to burn the "Second Types" in mass quantities. The androids begin to resist the only way they can, by evolving into a new class of Android the "Thirds". A group of these "Third Types" begin to murder humans in retaliation for the way their kind is treated. The "Thirds" are soon classified as unlicensed androids, for the simple fact that they not only look, but act exactly like human beings.
Upon arriving on Mars Detective
...
Ross Sylabus is thrust in to the middle of a baffling murder, which eventually spawns an investigation into the mysteries of the "Thirds." During this encounter at the Space Port he stumbles upon his new partner; Naomi Armitage, a young girl with what you might call an outgoing personality.
Being the typical Human of the times Detective Sylabus is openly prejudiced against all androids, but ironically finds he is becoming more and more like those things that he hates. As the story moves forward Detective Sylabus finds that his body is slowly being replaced by cybernetic implants, and is forced to confront many of the same feelings and bigotries that androids deal with on a daily basis.
Arimitage though, is in actuality a "Third Type" android, one that possesses a secret that if revealed, will thrust both of them head long into an adventure that could easily lead to their destruction.
DARGON / Tera-Alpha's Notes:
This is my favorite Anime Movie! I have watched it several times and am still not bored with it. The plot is very well developed and extreamly exciting. The end does seem cut short even though the movie is 90 minutes, but that is explained by there being a sequal ("Dual Matrix") now available on DVD. I have not seen the sequal yet, but predict that it will be at least as good as the original!
