I've just watched this show. Keep it brief;
Setting
I've found witch system unique, but that's probably because I'm inexperienced. There some moments about teaching the magic system but I can literally count them on my fingers. Definetly not the show for somebody who want to enjoy exploring their fantasy world.

Show style
This is basic Slice of life, but travelling implements some moral and character development of our protagonist - Elaina.
There is couple fetishes, especially after 6th episode. It simple and not dark, as the main character. The main issue is about chronological order, I mean it gets confusing at the end.
But there no arcs. Everything starts ... and ends in 1-2 episodes. It's not boring but at the same time no action heavy.

Characters
Only woman. Some old and young, but without lolis. There no character development of other participants and IMO it's perfectly fine, why bothering? The show itself about journey. Travelling is about greetings and farewells. Elena is self-centered character, with a "crown". The show deals with it not the way I wanted. The outcome about her persona is vague. That's not about character owercoming their inner issues.

I hope that i made clear some aspects to expect from this.
Tecnically, is show is mid. From animation to CharDesign, story, ending.

I've listed only what is not in this series. There are very cool side about is. It's simple and enjoyable. After a hard day of life it's just perfect to see someone enjoying their life in a simple way. As a fan of Laid back camp I would dafinetly recommend it. I enjoyed watching and not bothering about critical details. Don't try finding sence in something like slice of life anime

Even though this has bad comedic component, or that has triangle, it contains one moral, that is described to viewer through drama.

Comedy based on awkward situations that referred to main female character — Mahiro. More than enough dirty jokes in first half. Second half better, because there's less stupid humor for 12-13 olds. So i don't recommend this part.

Drama
Drama based on two directions: romantic, career.
1)Basic love triangle, nothing to say.
2)Career drawbacks. There's no easy path for main characters. Hard work doesn't have recoil and someone with a talant always will be better than you. This worldviews main character obitains through tears and sweat. This like ... when we have a typical overpowered isekai main charachter that gets all that they needs, but it turned upside down.

Romance
Not so bad, but compared to goats in this jounre, it's nothingness. So we have 2 paralel lines with main and minor charachters, like in "Kaguya sama: Love is war". There's nothing to say without spoilers

School events
Cultural festivals, summer festivals, cristmas. In one word — chicé.

Graphics kinda good.

Conclution
For me is hard to write a rewiews on common slice-of-life romcom. Nothing to say. There's no inspiring, exiting moments, probably because of jounre. That was made for fun, so it might be boring if watch 3 or more series per day. For better enjoyment i recommend to chil. I set mixed fellings because of this jokes in first part, that might dissapoint viewer.

That series reminds me "Final destanation" especially last 2 seasons. A lot of gory situations, sometimes jumpscares.
More than enough violence. Viewer might be prepared for this kind of stuff. That's why it mixed feelings. Someone will just wait this gory scenes. I don't recommend if you one of them.
Based on supnatural and science fiction.

Plot is based on supnatural and science fiction.
You had better to feel it by yourself without wiki/fandom. It well structured and viewer gets it in right moment, so if you can't understand some part — just keep watching. If you bored, you had better to make a stop for a few days. ... Higurasi is long and some parts are essential but unintresting. I've seen it 3 month ago, and maybe have already forgotten some plot mistakes, so i can't judge technically.

Characters design.
We have a lot of different characters. In each arch we learn about one-two (around 6 arches in 2 seasons). Everyone holds secrets, dark future. And everyone is mentally equal, i mean everyone can do the same task. do not underestimate somebody.

Music is like in other 2000s anime

Graphics is usually bad. What viewer can expect from 2000s anime.
1)Backgrounds are so lenit. Just stickmans from paint.
2)Animation cheap, eye-cutting.

Overall
Nevertheless, it was boring and nasty in gory situations. That kind of stuff is not for me.

This anime just passing trough "time exame". Grade ~ popularity·timeFromRelease/(timeFromRelease+1 year)

Firstly, charachter development unfinishied & unnecessarily complicated. Nichika lost her parents, and it was used only one time in short conversation. Ryō at very begining of this series is melancholic, but in last 3 ep she lost this. This anime aren't about strict charachter development, that don't missing details.

So, what about comedy part. Translate humor from language, that is using on the other side of the earth definetly complicated work. This is a point - "You aren't japanese, so you can't get Japanese jokes"

For heaven's sake that isn't romance

Finally, why this anime became famous - ... social networks, espesially twiter or tiktok shorts, attractive charachters, music, unpopular style. That anime only deserve 5/10 technically, 12/10 enjoyment(because of my fetish of searching foe root of anime memes), thats because i rated — "mixed feelings"
