I’m currently rewatching this and re: noticing that the names in this match names in the SNES title Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen. The four swords needed to unlock that fireseal sky island bonus stage with Albeleo as the doll mage/master boss, they are the Euros, Notos, Zephylos, and Boleas/Boreas Wind Axe. The Greyrat family names have this. Paul’s waifu is Aisha and his daughter by his wife is Norn, two Ogre Battle healers. I’m sure I caught some more items but those are the main ones that jump out. I just caught a run through of Ogre Battle on Sega Saturn 🪐 ... #todayyearsold

I can’t think of a more complete anime than this. The main characters are OP in a way but have their flaws and take Ls. Three friends wind up traveling together for personal gain and find out they need each other to survive. In the Edo period when Samurai/ Bushido is becoming extinct, these three take advantage of the times like everyone else. The animation and action and flip between fights and simultaneous situations is nothing like I’ve seen before. When I watched back in 2004/05 it captured me then and it still holds to this day. Fuu is not terribly annoying and has her ... uses. She’s not a typical damsel in distress. When Fuu gets caught or captured, she chooses to be resourceful instead of being useless. They all save each others life at some point making them a perfect three legged stool. Mugen and Jin are cool in their own right and the comedy between them and the writing is awesome. It’s a perfect 26 episodes. It’s like high school, parting is such sweet sorrow. The writer leaves it up to us whether to chose if they die or not. One episode the got high and thought they were in the Genji era and another episode they played baseball against Americans. No filler. Also the music is top notch, everybody cactus throats Nujabes/ Shing02, Fat Jon, MINMIs music Aruarian Dance (episode 6) Just Forget, Counting Starts (episode 11) and a slew of others and rightfully so. I could go on and on about this anime it’s a true masterpiece.

Deltora quest is easily the worst Anime I’ve ever watched. On its face it seems like it would be phenomenal. The straightforwardness and awky writing is so cringe. No real character development or story to follow. It seems like everything is on the fly. I had forgot the name of this anime it was so bad. The artwork drew me in because it’s the genre I like ie spell casters, warriors, brutes, wizards etc. the familiar was giving popful mail vibes. When I started watching it’s like they immediately went for it. The names of the demons are so ugh..hot and tot bruh? Come on ... it’s like they were even trying.
