Let me just clarify that I'm a very big Hellsing fan. Grant it, I'm fresh out of the woodwork of fandom, but I know a good story when I see one. I own this series, and I love this series very much, but I do realize it's faults and why not many people would enjoy it. I'll just list the pros and cons, plain and simple.
Pros:
- Good action, and lot's o' blood!
- Good characters, like Integra, Alucard, or Walter.
- The major characters have good voice acting.
- This anime has the best soundtrack I've ever heard. Give it a listen.
Cons:
- Some of the voice acting is
...
noticably atrocious.
- Some of the story is similar to the manga, but they did change a LOT of things.
- The most annoying episode in my opinion is "Order 2: Club M", just because I hate those snot-nosed brats who sound like they have a cold. They're distgusting for lack of a better word. They're part was too big in comparison to the manga/ova.
- The art could've been better. I thought Integra was a man the first time I saw her.
- Incognito. Enough said.
- I won't tell you what the ending was, but it wasn't a very satisfying one.
- They NEVER mention Millenium. Ever. They more like dance around the topic.
There you have it. Reasons why you should watch it, and some reasons why you might not like it all too well. My idea: watch this series and get it under your belt for something even better, Hellsing Ultimate. You'll appreciate Ultimate so much better once you've seen the original tv series. The series is alright, and it is the reason why I started liking Hellsing, but I understand why it's not the best. However, you can find that our for yourselves. ;)
