I had to drop Tokio Revengers because the MC is the biggest loser in recent anime history, I couldn't bear to watch such a pathetic, whinny and antipathetic main character.

The reason I mentioned this is because just as Platinum End, both stories started quite interesting, with themes a bit more on the mature side and promising plots. The first episode of Platinum End reminded me of Death Note and I was truly excited, but soon its characters completely obliterate any hopes of a good show.

Normally, I'm fine with mediocre shows, are watchable and somewhat enjoyable, but when the main character is utterly awful and the ... rest of the cast is decent at best, the whole show loses its appealing to me.

So, if you're like me that cannot stand whinny, morally-correct, pathetic main characters lacking any depth, development nor personality, just make yourself a favor and skip this show.

I forced myself to watch 8 episodes to see how the story unfolds, telling myself that maybe the protagonist will get better or at least less cringy, but it didn't happen and I just couldn't keep watching such a pathetic main character.

The protagonist is supposed to be 26, and from the beginning he's portrayed as a complete loser. Normally, these kind of characters tend to develop strength, personality and became really likeable characters, overcoming all their weaknesses.

But this isn't the case, the main character keeps getting worse and worse with every episode. He's loud, whiny and gets his ass kicked every single time without even ... fighting back, honestly is just painful to watch, there's nothing to like about such a terrible main character.

He's supposed to have the power to travel 12 years back in time, but mentally he goes back 21 every single episode, if I had to describe his personality I would say that he feels mentally disable.

I don't understand how such a mediocre story and unlikable protagonist get such a high score in MAL, it really makes no sense. Make yourself a favor an avoid this show.

This is my first manga review, and I'm writing this because there's not enough feedback for this amazing series,so far I've read 126 chapters (only 90 translated),so let's begin.

Story: 8/10
Intense drama, suspense and touching moments is what defines Dome X Kano. As the story develops the characters truly evolve, so the reader is sure to constantly change his/her point of view about their relationships, most of them taboo, creating a constant tension through the narrative that sometimes it get's countered by comedic chapters, that in reality build the path for a new drama.

But some filler chapters, mostly the last ones, in my opinion are only ... there to extend the main story, avoiding what the reader really wants to know, not even building suspense for something else, at the contrary they create an empty tale with a terrible taste.

Charcter: 9/10
In my personal opinion this is the strongest area of the series, really lovable characters, that make you feel their pain and joy, I've even get mad with some of them for their actions. Also is really incredible that at first you might like a character, then you despise it, love it again, etc...


I think that Sasuga, Kei really put her heart and soul in creating them, but as I said in the story section, some filler chapters, including their characters, are completely empty, even their interaction with the main charactes feels way too forced. But, maybe I'm wrong and somewhere in the story they may become relevant.

Art: 10/10
I think the mangaka is a great artist overall, nothing in particular to critique over, but I think I'm not qualified to point something out, because I know little to nothing about manga drawing techniques, but from an avid manga reader it looks incredibly good, typical art but it gets the job done, the expressions and feels are really well put, sometimes you don't even need to read the text to know what's he/she is saying.

Overall: 7/10
So far the story, characters and enjoyment are good, the series really hooks you up to the point that when I was reading I lost the track of time, a phenomenon that only a few great mangas can achieve. So let's see where the story will take us and maybe at the end it will deserve a higher note.
