First, there's maybe a couple of biases because the anime just came out like yesterday. But I'll try to make it fair for all of you.
There's this stingy disgusted feeling when Netflix announced that they will create an anime based on the game Cyberpunk 2077. But hold my balls because Studio Triggers are the one who's going to make it and thank god Netflix finally got a W for this one after a year period of time.
Story: 8/10.
The story of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is not strongest point of this anime. You could arguably finds that the story kinda leave a plot hole and felt rushed sometimes
...
cause from what I believe is this show shouldn't be a 10 episode anime maybe like 14 or even 20 episode until it reach its end. There's a lot of exposition, story or world building that could be an opportunity for this to make it a into a higher score. But, the score of 8/10 is the least that I could give for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
Art: 10/10.
Studio Trigger are known to make an S tier animation in their anime despite the anime itself overall could go to an C or even an D tier overall and after who know how many long time has it been they finally got themself an S tier animation with an overall A or even higher. You're going to be a handful of NSFW scene (mainly gore and nudity) but it's not like a borderline H anime or over the top gore and that's what I like about Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The content is NOT for fan service but it's just an art for them to visualize the people in that world.
Sounds: 9/10.
The choice of the soundtrack and music in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners are straight up bangers. The sounds producers absolutely knows to do their jobs. They create an atmosphere where sounds and scene fit into one another. Now in the VA category there's not a lot to comment on this one because I couldn't find a single flaw from the VA. They doing their job well, the sounds from the VA to the characters just fits.
Character: 9/10.
Their all just one dimensional character where you know how they going to do this and that AT FIRST. The thing is you could see the development and progression of characters despite it feels a little bit of "ya ya ya it happens like this is it" at the first episode. Props for the writers for doing it just in 10 episode.
Enjoyment: 10/10
For me to see an anime that tries something new, put a little bit of spice, being different from an anime that popular is just a 10/10 for me. You see bad guy not the usual goody two shoes. You'll story that makes you smile, angry or even depressed in this show. The ride is a rollercoaster, sometimes you don't know it until you realize that you're upside down or going down into the gutter. This anime just clicks with me and there's not a lot of action packed anime that I really really like.
