Both revolve around female leads with a dark past... Its hard to know how much I can say without spoiling but if you like Shiki/Fumika you'll probably like the other.

If you liked I''s add

...then you might like Bakuman. add

both these series deal with the issue of long term, long distance relationships from the guys perspective. If you enjoyed I's there are plenty of parallels with bakuman's romance element.

If you liked Kara no Kyoukai Movie 5: Mujun Rasen add

...then you might like Bakemonogatari add

This is really a reccomendation for the whole Kara no Kyoukai series but the similarities are more apparant once you reach the 5th movie. In both you have a team of misfits and abnormalities who constantly come into conflict with other misfits and abnormalities. Also the female leads are surprisingly similar in both murder and love.

Both these movies are set in a similar kinda time period (the beginings of guns and gunpowder) with Princess Mononoke being more fantasical Also they both deal with the conflict of ideals and loyalty.

Both deal with the philosophical question, "Do two evils make a left?" Incase my poor sense of humour is lost on you they both look at the stance of the lesser of two evils and whether or not an evil action can be good

Both Paprika and Akira feature bizzarre hallucinogenic dreams that blur into reality and delusions of power. The difference is that Akira is told from the side of the delusional, Paprika from the side trying to stop him.

pirate organisations with an anti-authority view and mysterious mechs? E7 and Mars Daybreak have got both these elements.

The Diclonius from Elfen Lied and the Demoniacs in Blassreiter seem to be a similar sort of 'super-human race' Also both these shows blur the line between good and evil, presenting humanity as a monster

The artwork is beautiful in both of these. Not necessarily the best reason to recommend as the genres are totally different but i would definately recommend both to anyone.

Not a very likely pair i know, but both the main characters in these manga have a secret identity that deals in crime if you like D.N.Angel and you're looking for something more serious i'd give this a try

-Both Renton and Naruto hold some massive power they dont fully understand to start off with -also both shows have a similar comedy element revolving around the main characters' romantic incapabilities

The friendship between the 3 main characters in this reminded me of the girl who leapt through time, obviously the place promised is much more serious.
