I first watched Ouran when I was a full fledged middle school weeb, completely unaware that the characters were being played up for their tropes. Now that I have graduated high school I still enjoy this anime for not only the nostalgia it gives as a staple of the 2000s, but also for the emotional bond one will form with each of the characters. They may all be blissfully trope-y, but don't let that put you off; this anime is NOT a parody, it is a homage which builds the characters from the ground up.
Ouran is equal parts hilarious, sad, heartwarming and will have you
