I just can’t take it anymore. I don’t know what to do. No matter how many times I recommend or encourage people to watch this show they always either laugh it off or outright refuse. Sometimes it’s even worse, as they end up just looking at me as if I just walked out of an asylum for saying anything about it. And I don't know why, I really don't. I’m at the point where I’m starting to question whether I really have gone insane and this show is actually a pile of unredeemable shit. Sure, the premise of the show sounds pretty stupid but I

can’t begin to list all of the different anime at this point in time which have had stupid sounding premises and still turned out to be great. It makes me a bit sad, to be honest, because I really love this show. No matter how sincerely I try to tell people about it, no one will listen.
I’ll admit, the first few episodes are pretty mid in terms of entertainment value but they are very important in easing you into the world, the characters and the overall premise before launching into the meat of the show. The great cast of diverse and memorable characters. The engaging tank battles and high stakes. The rivalry and friendships created along the way. The incredible soundtrack. This really is the type of series which gets better as it goes along, with ever increasing stakes and character development, especially if you decide to continue watching the other parts of the series where you will learn a lot more about the overall lore of the world. Over the many episodes you will begin to develop an attachment to certain schools, teams and individuals within the show which all have distinct fighting styles and personalities which makes all of them very memorable. I think it is incredible how an anime with this many different people to show on screen manages to make them all worthwhile and relevant in some way. If you are a history nerd such as myself, it is an added bonus but I’ll admit as someone who doesn’t really care all too much for WW2 era tanks it still managed to stay interesting. Even most of the more slice of life elements of the show were still really entertaining and relaxing to watch, which is a nice break from really heavy shows but is still deep enough for you to be able to care. Top all of that off with a great soundtrack with many memorable themes and songs, and you have one heck of a show. Is it the second coming of Christ? No, probably not but I don’t think any anime out there could ever reach that level.
I’ll end by clarifying that no, this is not ironic and I am being completely serious. To be honest the fact that some people will think that this is ironic just demonstrates the negative perception people have of the show. That really makes me sad, because I truly believe that this is a really underrated and under watched show which people are really missing out on. Panzer Vor!
