I ended up really enjoying the show. The whole concept of renting a girlfriend is for sure an interesting one and a big reason as to my liking of it.
On the one hand, the whole relationship is a false one, a simple exchange of money and service, an act. The MC understood that at the start of the show and was left feeling even worse off for himself.

Oreigaru is just a step ahead from all of the slice of life anime out there with it's amazing character development and emotional depth.
You truly feel the change of the personality of various people throughout the series and it feels like they truly have grown up and matured. The change is very gradual, which gives the whole story a feeling of longevity. It frankly feels like you've known and been with the group for years and developed yourself alongside them.
