Zetsuen no Tempest is much like a Ferrari on a brisk winter's morn, it takes a few seconds for the engines first roar, but damn even Mufasa would be proud!
This anime is amazing if you can get past the first few episodes of stage setting but once it gets rolling, its unputdownunable.
This anime focuses a lot on the concept of logic and what defines it, and ultimately climaxes in a fight against logic itself.
Its very refreshing to find a Shounen without a 'big, evil baddy' and this allows the fight for survival to bring together many people who dislike each other, and character interactions are
...
intriguing and exciting.
The only department where I find trouble among the main characters' personalities: the lack of any emotion in the two lead males except an anger and lust for revenge, which while it allows for a very compelling driving force to justify the lengths they go to, it also weakens the interactions of theirs with the other characters, making them seem very two dimensional.
This is especially evident in the ending, when all is said and done, where they could have made the anime truly emotional and memorable. A few tears would have been respected.
The supporting characters have very strong and diverse roles and they keep the show very 'crispy', though no comedy shall be found here.
If you have a keen eye for nice story twists then take a look at this anime. I guarantee it shall not disappoint!!
