A really nice send off for the characters! Every time I re-read Fake I feel like the ending is a bit too quick, this epilogue does a great job at tying up the loose ends and gives a very sweet send off to the characters. Other than our main two characters you had their two closest colleagues at the station as well as Diana and Berk who weren't really mentioned at the ending of the main story. All of them get little scenes here that I think were hinted at pretty nicely in the main story. Bicky and Carol also show up and it's fun
...
to see what their final forms look like.
Seeing as this is a bonus one-shot it's to be expected that nothing crazy will happen here and you obviously have to have read the main story first or there is no point to this chapter. It's short, predictable and sweet, and it's just what was needed for the story.
I also really like that the artstyle is still what we know and love from Fake, but has ever so slightly started to shift towards what Fake II would eventually look like, a very nice mix!
If you've finished and enjoyed Fake then you're sure to love this little bonus too!

Wow. This has been such a journey. Taking a manga that was very of its time and updating it for new audiences is never easy and you're never going to be able to get everything right or make everyone happy. You can however do what feels right and focus on what needed updating the most to end up with something different and fun for a ~new~ generation!
Where to begin? I will begin with what I loved the most; the characters. The original Tokyo Mew Mew manga was a 7-volume story about a girl fighting off aliens with her 4 friends who have all been infused
...
with DNA from various red listed animals. Tokyo Mew Mew New is an anime about 5 girls all with different struggles who learn new things about themselves together with their friends while they have to protect the earth from what they initially think is a hostile invasion by aliens. The biggest update this adaptation gave us was the 5 main characters. This season gave all of the main girls character focused episodes with TMMN original material for all of them. These original stories strengthen the bonds between the girls as well as develop completely new personalities for some of them. I won't go into spoilers but for anyone who felt like certain characters deserved more spotlight and more fleshed out characters than "She's rich and spoiled", "She's cool", "She's shy" or "She's a goofy kid" this is definitely an adaptation for you. The one who sees the least amount of rewriting is Ichigo, but as she was the only character with a more proper arc in the manga this makes a lot of sense.
The overarching story, that of a race of aliens who inhabited the earth before humans trying to take it back by polluting it to a point where humanity dies out gets more focus this season. For the first time we get insight into the lives of this people and new material is added to make us understand them, and by extension the villains even more. For me this was needed as this adaptation takes the aliens and their struggle in a bit of a different direction from the source material. While they are still villains and their goals are still the same all of them have moments of doubt in what they're doing, and you greatly sympathise with them once you see more of what's happened to them. Again, a lot of this is original for this adaptation and I'm so thankful for these additions.
Another thing that I feel is worth bringing up is the music and ost. While the first season didn't have many stand out tracks for the original score they stepped it up this season. The ost is more dramatic and stands out more, they also manage to make some of them memorable and enjoyable enough that you recognise them when they pop up every other episode. One of my favourite aspects to this season was also the character insert songs given to every character. While season 1 gave us 2 character songs for Zakuro this season gave every girl her own insert song sung by the VAs and written from the characters' perspectives. These were a nice surprise and are great for giving the audience more of a feel for the characters.
There is only really one aspect of New that I personally feel the need to criticize, and that is the animation. This show was very obviously not given a very high animation budget and it shows in critical moments of the show. Some dramatic moments get very cookie cutter angles and lighting while more quiet moments get very little animation at all. This is a great shame because the voice actors are giving it their all in every scene which just pulls even more attention to the low animation quality when the emotion in the acting isn't matched by the emotion in the drawings. To give credit where credit is due there are a couple of scenes that are obviously given more attention. There are a couple of fight scenes where you would never be able to guess that the budget was low, and while there isn't a lot of movement for other scenes the stills are mostly beautifully drawn.
Tokyo Mew Mew New is far from perfect and there is no way for everyone to love it. However, if you go into it with an open mind and try to see how much passion was put into it I do believe that everyone can find at least something they enjoy about it. Tokyo Mew Mew was the first manga I ever read read but growing up I've realised that there are a lot of flaws and even problematic aspects of it that I can't really excuse. Tokyo Mew Mew New fixed almost all of my problems and made a fresh story with a great amount of heart for new fans to enjoy, just as Ikumi wanted. I recommend this for anyone who wants some sparkle and wholesome characters on their lists, and don't recommend it to people who grew up watching the 2002 version. Tokyo Mew Mew New will make sure that this story lives on and I hope that we get more of it.

One thing that needs to be made clear to everyone before watching this: This is a re-adaptation of the manga from the year 2000, NOT a remake of the 2002 anime. This version seeks to tell the story of the manga in a new way, and is not trying to imitate the 2002 anime adaptation. With that out of the way let's go!
Tokyo Mew Mew New follows the story of five girls who gets infused with DNA of red listed animals, and gains superpowers in order to save the world from the threat of alien extinction. The main character, Ichigo, is also struggling to balance
...
her life as a superhero with her romantic high-school life as she's in love with a boy whom she doesn't like lying to about her secret identity. Having been infused with DNA from an endangered animal is also ironic fun seeing as the boy she's in love with is extremely passionate about endangered animals. The girls do their best to fight evil while working simultaneously at a cafe and trying to conceal their true identities to the world.
Characters:
All of the characters in this show are somewhat stereotypes that were common for this kind of show back when it was written. Ichigo is your standard protagonist who's determined, loyal to her friends and head over heels for a boy she barely knows. However, they take the time to give her moments of personal growth and a personal arc, mostly tied into her love-interest. Speaking of the love-interest; I never cared much for him in the manga, but here he's fine! Him and Ichigo have a couple of nice scenes together where they just talk, making them feel more natural as a couple and giving them time to just be teenagers in love. Then you have Minto who's the stuck-up rich girl who has a hard time complimenting people, Retasu the clumsy shy girl, Pudding the cute and hyper-active athletic type, and Zakuro the cool and quiet type. It's nothing spectacular, but for a show that was written in the early 2000's they're all fine, and the girls do get moments to bond and get to know each other, making their friendship feel very natural after a couple episodes.
Story:
The story itself is very simple, and I doubt anyone will have any issue following it. It's very classic 90's - 2000's shoujo with colourful but somewhat silly situations interwoven with fight scenes and romance. I grew up with this manga and is thus a bit nostalgic for it, however, there are some common tropes in the story that can be distracting. They never take the time to fully explain most of the plotelements and there are gaping holes in the story at every turn. However, the story was written with pretty young girls in mind and is very cute and fun, so if that's all you're really looking for then there are few actual complaints.
The pacing on the other hand is all over the place, and this is something that I believe can really turn some people away from this adaptation. The first 4 episodes are incredibly rushed, with episodes 4 - 8 slowing down and taking time to develop the characters, and then the pacing drinks an energy drink again for episode 9 - 11, to then have a pretty good final episode. For those that have read the manga this won't be an issue, but for everyone else you should really brace yourselves for some ups and downs.
Presentation:
The overall art style is very cute and suits the show for what it is. The music as well suits the style that the show is going for very well. The opening and ending are even performed by an idol unit comprised of the five main voice actors, who were auditioned specifically for this show. The voice acting does suffer a bit because of this. The main five are all rookies at voice acting, and there are places where it really shows. It's good to prepare for the voice acting to not be up to the standard that most anime fans are used to if you're wanting to enjoy this show. I do want to give the girls credit though, as by the final episode they've all improved significantly, and I barely noticed their previous insecurities anymore.
The animation goes up and down depending on the episode as with all shows created by smaller studios. There are some fight scenes that really stand out, and the transformations and attacks for the most part look gorgeous. There are some derpy looking cells at times however, and the framing is a bit stale at times. This really isn't a show that sets out to be revolutionary in that department though, and you can tell that they focused their efforts where it was most needed.
All in all this is by no means a perfect adaptation. It has flaws at every turn but they in no way sink the show. A lot of heart was put into this from the designs and direction to the VAs and composers.
This being an adaptation that seeks to follow the story and pacing of the manga does make it feel very rushed (as the story in the manga was extremely fast paced) so those who take issue with that should probably give this a skip. Especially those who grew up with the 2002 adaptation should probably skip this as they do most things completely differently.
If you're just looking for a cute, lighthearted, somewhat silly show with a lot of passion put into it despite a smaller budget, and you enjoy mahou shoujo, then this is a good way to spend your time. With season 2 having been announced for April 2023 I really hope more people join us on the hype train!

Wow.... they didn't even try.
The animation was uninspiring and dull.
Nothing really happens in the first half except that they move around a bit.
The main characters go through absolutely no development what so ever.
They spend entire episodes on just talking but then rush through huge plot points and character moments in minutes.
...
The ending is one of the greatest insults I've ever witnessed in a manga. If you're not going to bother actually spending time on something then at least write something new and don't give us the story in a slideshow.
Infuriated that I wasted my time on this.

Since there are a fair share of positive reviews for this I'm going to be the cruel one. I truly do not understand how this can have a score higher than a 5. I'll also mainly write this review around the parts I find the most important to talk about so a lot about it will be omitted.
Before reading this manga this you need a bit of a trigger warning as there are a lot of things like abuse, manipulation and rape that are jokingly glossed over in it. You could say that it's an older series and that it's a product of it's time,
...
but I do not find these things ok no matter where or when they're written.
Story:
The story is that of a 20 y/o girl who get's a blood transfusion and afterwards inherits the memories and psychic powers of the woman who donated blood to her. This is important because the brother of this woman's husband was passionately in love with her and becomes insanely possessive of the MC who now has the memories of the dead wife playing in her dreams.
To start off this isn't an uninteresting story, and the subject-matter of someone trying to come to terms with the loss of a loved one, especially when a part of that loved one is alive within someone else, could be a strong one.The problem is how the series handles that subject-matter. Without spoiling anything I can say that the topic of loss is a lot of the time glanced over and mostly serves as foder for the characters having the same fight in ever other chapter with little to no development.
It's also a bit problematic because the love interest is really forceful towards the MC when he finds out that she has a part of the woman he love inside of her. There is even a rape scene in the first chapter where the MC tells the love interest to stop and he doesn't, this is played for laughs. I can not stress enough how there needs to be a trigger warning in this, the author clearly didn't know how serious of a topic this is when writing this.
Characters:
The main character Maiko is a very stereotypical MC for the early- mid 2000's. She wants love and goes along with everything any man really tells her. She gets angry and screams a lot but gives in with some convincing at every turn.
The love interest is called Yukiya and is one of the creepiest love interests that I've ever had to read about. Upon finding out that Maiko has his dead brother's dead wive's memories he pretty much guilt tripps her into living with him and starts treating her like a possession. Maiko tells him off for this, but as I said before, it just takes a bit of simple sweet talking for her to become compliant.
Their dynamic never really develops, she yells at him and he's possessive and creepy for 2/3 of the manga. Once she, in a pretty disturbing turn of events, realises that she loves him she does a 180 and thinks he can do no wrong all of a sudden.
It doesn't help that the manga sits short on only 14 chapters. The pacing is laser fast and there simply isn't any time to develop any of the characters beyond their basic characteristics. There is a love rival thrown in later in the series who serves as nothing but a plot device to move the MC's relationship along.
Art:
The style is pretty standard mid-2000's shoujo but unfortunately that's all you can really say about it. A lot of the characters look different from page to page as well as bodies looking disproportionate at times. There are also a lot of "goofy expressions" through out this that are thrown in during dramatic and serious moments, this made it hard for me to ever get into anything that was happening since it didn't seem like the characters themselves were taking anything seriously.
The facial expressions also played a huge part in how I saw the characters. The MC tend to make this really angry, razor sharp teeth face a lot of the time which led me to find her annoying as she's angry a lot. The love interest is drown with this really cutesy and kinda "uwu" ish expression in a lot of moments when the MC is mad which makes him incredibly disturbing as it doesn't seem like he's listening to her at all, which for the first book is 100% true anyways.
I see what this series was going for, and it really tried, but I just don't think that this is a good or healthy way of showing off a relationship. There is a scene in the first couple of pages where someone brushes domestic abuse to the side like it's a woman's preference to be beaten and it's just an awful message to send.
I'm not saying that you should expect shoujo manga to offer a realistic look on relationships, or that you should seek them out for advice, but there is harmless shoujo and then there is this.(It's really written way more like a shoujo than a josei, just remove the sex scenes and there would be no difference)
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone except for how to not write a love story. The love interest is a possessive rapist who is in love with his brother's wife, and the main character is a pushover who falls for anyone who shows her kindness.
I will not be revisiting this and I hope that I might have saved someone an hour by writing this review.
Have a good one and wash your hands everyone!

Don't be fooled by this show, it's not what it seems.
I'll make this fairly short: This show has a good opening, a good premiss, really nice designs, and a fairly enjoyable soundtrack, BUT the script is honestly so poorly written and boring that it's making me mad. The characters don't get any real setup, they're introduced, given some quirks and then you're supposed to automatically care about them. The two MCs don't have an ounce of chemistry but they try to trick you into thinking they do with some (supposedly) emotional scenes that lead absolutely nowhere.
It also claims to be about music but except, again,
...
some random quirky details it's really now. This is just a mech show with a music theme and it doesn't even do the mech part well. Everytime the main mech is brought out I realise that I can't even remember what it looks like which is a bad sign. Nothing is really memorable about this show except for the look of it and the opening, for me that's never enough.
4/10, bad script, boring characters, will be dropping this show now.

I am writing this as chapter 6 has just been released, January 2016. Also Yagate came into my life as I was on the height of my BL obsession, so I might be a bit bias to this and don't really see the flaws because it was a welcome change at that time. I apologize for this.
The series centers around a girl named Yuu who, big surprise, is a freshman in high school and doesn't know what club to join. She is convinced to help out in the student council where she meets the student council president, a girl named named Nanami Touko who
...
takes interest in her for reasons she herself is unsure of.
Story:
The story is really your basic high school drama, and so far nothing out of the ordinary has happened. So for anyone who is looking for something that stands out this probably isn't it. What the story does well tough is that it doesn't put any expectations on itself, so you're really going into it without an real idea of what it's gonna give you. This is really a series that focuses on the relationships between the characters, so if that's not your thing (again) then this probably isn't for you.
Characters:
The main character Koito Yuu is really what makes this so worth while. Not only is she unique in her way to think and her personality, she's also not the first one to fall for the other, which really isn't that much of a spoiler. She knows her limits as a person, and she isn't the "give it your all and always smile" kind of character that you usually have as the main in shoujo ai. She feels isolated from her friends and from love, but she just keeps going anyways, she is by all means not a "what a pain" kind of character either tough.
The love interest Touko, while not as interesting still has a few things to her that makes her stand out from other characters in similar series. First of all she's the school's miss popular who gets confessed to a lot, but you can't really feel that from her and there isn't much emphasis to that. This makes her way more lovable and once she falls for Yuu (which is in chapter 1, it really isn't a spoiler) she becomes a bit dorky in a way that makes you root for her since Yuu really just thinks she's being weird. As their relationship builds you feel more and more chemistry between them as well.
The rest of the cast are by all means not badly written, but they don't get any real development, which is good because all the development time goes to the two mains. There is a character who is an exception and that plays a bigger role tough, but you'll have to discover who that is for yourself.
As for the art and style there isn't much to say other than that it's simple, yet refined, and fits the tone perfectly. The colored pages truly stand out tough as they are very calming and bring you a feeling of peace, at least in my case.
I say that if you're looking for something that's not complicated to read when it feels right and to lift your mood a bit this is a good choice! It doesn't try to be something it isn't, it's just a plain, well written, well paced, and really sweet shoujo ai. I really enjoy it so far and have even re-read the first chapters because I felt like it, which for me is rare.
I now feel the need to eat some chocolate, because don't we all?? Have a good day/night person reading!

Are you sick of the magical girls formula?
Have you asked the obvious questions like "Why doesn't anyone recognize them?" while watching Sailor moon?
If you have then THIS is the best possible anime you could watch!
(Something went wrong when I posted this and it cut off midway, this is the edited and completed version ^^)
Story:
5 fairly bored guys go to Binan high school and have club together called the "Earth defense club "lol"" where they do practically nothing. One day when two of the guys are taking a bath at a local bath house they regularly visit, when a pink fluffy animal that looks like
...
a wombat drops down and ask them to help him protect the earth against monsters!
Together with the other guys in the club they become "Battle lovers" heirs to the throne of love! With frilly outfits and everything!
Yes! Everything you just read is just as silly as it sounds, and that's what makes it great! It rips off a typical magical girls scenario and uses it to ask all the questions you've always wanted answers for, while making fun of it to the extremes! Not only that but it makes fun of typical bishounen show fanbases, and since I belong to many I laughed and shipped to my hearts content! As many magical girls shows it's mostly fillers with a lot of fan service, but it doesn't feel like filler since they focus a lot on the relationships between the boys in multiple forms!
The final episode has the most unexpected plot twist since Mirai Nikki or even Death note if I may say so by the way.
Characters:
The main 5 are Yumoto, En, Atsushi, Io and Ryuu. They are accompanied by their trustworthy(That was sarcasm) side-kick wombat, whom you'll get to know incredibly little about. The 5 MCs are all pretty basic and stereotypical, but they are on purpose. What really makes them is the relationships between them and the whole parody thing. They are sorta paired up in Ryuu & Io, Atsushi & En, and Yumoto & Wombat, the first 2 pairs are best friends with each other. Putting the fact that I ship them both very hard they work off each other so very well! They aren't your everyday best friends who are perfect, no they bicker, and disagree with trust for the other just like normal best friends. This makes them all the more amusing and comfortable to watch as they learn more about each other.
We also have three villains who I won't go into any detail on since that might spoil some small details that I think everyone should experience first-hand on their own. I will say this tough: They are voiced by Kamiya, Fukuyama and Terashima, in other words: It's pure perfection.
Art & Sound:
If you are looking for something that is very fresh and unique in it's style and animation then look elsewhere. This show doesn't have all that good animation, and the soundtrack doesn't stand out at all. HOWEVER! Focusing on good animation and a fantastic and memorable soundtrack would have done nothing in this show's favor. The simple style and bright colors is just what this show needs for the comedy to shine, and I am so very happy that they went in that direction. It looks fantastic in the transformation sequences, and that's all I could ask for. I really can't remember anything from the soundtrack. That said you will have the opening theme in your head for at least a week! The op and ed songs get a lot of focus and are perfect for the show. That alone is more than enough for me.
Overall:
If you are bored, If you love shipping, If you are looking for a plate of brilliance, If you are looking for a good laugh, If you watched Sailor moon and Pretty cure when you were little, If you watched them just recently, THIS is the show for you!
This show takes the parody in the world of anime to another level of spot on and funny!
The writers of this show have obviously been the ones asking the questions while watching magical girls anime. They wrote this to give us their speculations on how the kingdom of girls fighting in mini skirts is ruled.
This has a lot of fan service and hints at ships which makes the fujoshis jump with joy, but anyone can watch this show, shipper or not and find it absolutely hilarious!
Judging this show for what it is and is trying to be I give it a strong 9.3/10!
I would recommend this for ANYONE.
Thanks for reading, and I will now go watch the last Nanatsu and then try to get this assignment done! Have a good one!

Why do I always write my sucky reviews when I'm sick?? No clue! Here goes!
Ofc this review will be basted of what has happened up until ep 6. If there is a manga I haven't read it. This is only anime based! I will try my best not to spoil anything!
Story:
Yona is the princess of a kingdom that is divided between 4 elemental tribes all Avatar style! Her father is a kind and wimpy king whom everyone seems to like. Her cousin and life love murders her father on her birthday which forces her to flee the palace with her bodyguard/childhood friend and seek a
...
way to make things right as well as to find herself.
The story in itself is pretty engaging, but what really works is the way Yona evolves!
That said she only started doing that in episode 5. The first episodes are kinda slow paced which leaves you hanging for a while. For me some of the humor(which can be pretty out of place) makes up for that. It's thrown in a bit here and there and gives the show a pretty unique style when it's at it's lowest. The slow start has great payback tough as sh*t really starts hitting the fan in ep 5, so it's all good!
Characters:
This is funny as there are A LOT of characters who take up pretty much 50% of the opening who hasn't shown up yet. I am slightly worried that they won't get the development they need, but I'll let the writers take care of that. I'm looking forward to them anyhow!
Yona is our main. She starts out as a spoiled princess who only has eyes for her cousin Soo-won. She is energetic and a bit of a tsundere with no clue of the world, and this MAKES her! As we've seen in the opening already she will develop into a warrior princess, and I could not be happier with that! She started her development a couple of episodes ago, but in the latest episode we finally got a glimpse of the future which looks very bright!
Hak is her childhood friend and closest servant. He is the leader of the wind tribe (No they don't have arrows on their heads) and the best warrior in the land!
So far he hasn't gotten any development. They have the typical childhood friends relationship of bickering and teasing, and he has an indestructible loyalty towards Yona. I doubt his character will develop much more, but he's there to be the right hand handsome future love interest, so it's fine.
Yona's cousin and father's murderer Soo-won. . . Is an asshole! That's what I know about him so far. His reason for killing the king is based on nothing as far as I'm concerned, and he gives off this "You're supposed to feel sorry for me even tough I'm a bastard" vibe.
Look and sound:
The animation is nothing spectacular in either the bad or good direction. Studio pierrot can be very good and very bad, so this is a nice go-between. The colors pop a bit too much if you ask me, but it can be overlooked.
The music is the biggest downfall for this show so far. It's very ill-placed at times and very repetitive. I really liked the opening which is only an orchestra piece which gives a very epic feel. While I still like it they've also used it in the show a couple of times already which lessens the epic feel. I just hope that they'll work better with the music from here on out because the timing is really bugging me.
Overall:
So far it's not fantastic and it's not bad. Today's episode got my hype back up as it showed a new side to multiple characters and I'm looking forward to seeing where the next step will lead!
If you're into historical, comedy, romance, or drama anime you should give it a few episodes and see what you think! I think it'll be worthy of your time!
Now I will try to go to sleep as it's 2am, and hopefully I'll not sleep until 12 o'clock! (If I do I won't be able to wake up for school on Thursday. . .)
Good night to you!

As always, I suck at reviews! If u want a good review then. . . . read something else! I'm still sick, so I excuse any typos. . . .
This series was pretty much a way to kill time while waiting for Tokyo ghoul and Zankyou no terror (which wraps today noooooo!) every Thursday. Did it waste my time?. . . Let's see!
Story:
Our main characters and her friends live in a seaside town where all there is to do is to apparently draw chickens! A new guy shows up who stirs things up a bit aaaaaaand it's a basic slice of life from there.
...
While I don't think it's a bad setup for an easy going slice of life there really isn't anything going on until the last 3-4 episodes. The main learns through the new guy (let's call them Girl #1 and guy #1) that she can sorta see glimpses of the future when looking at something sparkly. They don't use this for anything big until like I said the last episodes, which is a shame since it could have given the series a bit more dept.
The characters:
Girl #1 is the basic boring main. She loves to craft glass tough which is an interesting hobby for a main character. She pretty much only makes pearls to put in bracelets tough, which is a bit of a shame.
Guy #1. . . . I swear. . . HE HAS NO SOUL!! He show little to no emotions until the last 2 episodes, and even there it's super stiff! Without any hint he decides that he's in love with girl #1 halfway through. Could have fooled me! I never even saw him smile at her! He can sorta "hear" the future the same way girl #1 sees it and. . . .I never understood that. His seiyuu is the same guy who voices Eijun in Ace of diamond and Nice in Hamatora. This soulless character is a waste of his talent!
Girl #1 have 4 friends; Girl #2 and #3, and guy #2 and #3. They are all pretty much on the same level of blandness. Guy #3 can be a little funny at times, but really this series doesn't have any humor. Guy and girl #3 get together halfway through the series, but there is little to no chemistry between them.
Anything I have to say about any of the characters are pretty much rants, so I'm gonna leave it there.
Art and sound:
The coloring of this is pretty nice, and the backgrounds can be very beautiful! They really know what to do to make this town and the surroundings feel a bit real around the bland characters. The music is what makes this for me. They have a lot of piano in this, which quite frankly I could just sit down and listen to a calm summer night without connecting it to the series at all. The character can look a bit derpy at times. The eyes are a bit misplaced and the proportions can seem a bit off, but if you don't look at them(the bgs are prettier anyways) it's fine!
Overall:
This is not the type of series that I usually watch, so I'm not sure if I have the rights to judge it. Anyhow this is a bit too boring for my tastes. Nothing really happens until the last couple of episodes, and the characters are blander than toast. Was it a complete waste of time??. . . . .Not exactly. I could find it a bit soothing to watch before getting into the darker series that I mentioned at the top. I would never watch this as a completed series tough, that's for sure.
If country side slice of life is your thing then you can check it out! You'll like it ok!
If you don't watch them so often then leave it.
I will now go to Mc Donalds before getting depressed that the last ep of Zankyou aired today. I bet it'll be epic!
Have a good one!
