Prequel to Jujutsu Kaisen series season 1 (2020/21), canon. We get to see already established characters and learn more about the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. Can be viewed before or after main series season 1. Animation is on very high level, story stays true to the original manga. Final fight between protagonist and antagonist tops the cake.
The despair and mortality/injury career risk of jujutsu sorcerers are being shown throughout the movie. For established viewers of Jujutsu Kaisen, movie contains the antagonist's moral commentary on current state of the world which gives insight into his further actions and goals both in manga and series. Characters

reacted as realistic as could be expected from Jujustu High students. Most realistic reaction was from Maki while inspecting fellow students ID. The Inumaki case about using pharmaceutics was unexpectedly grounded.
Bad: The story isn't finished. The final fight while certainly cinematic but results could be called inconclusive. Characters reacted

Supposedly our world's best assassin gets reincarnated into a world of sword and magic after making a deal with goddess to assassinate hero once he's subjugated demon lord. MC an elderly man now in a new born body gets uncomfortably close to other children of same biological age, but certainly not the same mental age. In preparation to uphold his end of the bargain with the goddess MC builds a harem of beautiful girls to help with his assassination.
plus
Honestly nothing memorable. Story is average, as while occasionally viewer is reminded of MC dealings with
...
goddess most of the time is spent building harem of beautiful girls to help with assassination.
minus
Art is terrible. The one branch off family tree incest love story is uncomfortable. Lugh and Dia are cousins from Lugh's mother's side. The magical diet that made all the nutrition go to Tarte's boobs doesn't give anything to the story. What did Lugh do in Orca company isn't explained.
Recommendations of similar anime:
Spice and wolf - great slow paced coming to terms with love anime with beautiful art and story that explains medieval trade in relative detail compared to this anime.
Fate Zero - showcases real assassin workmanship, has similar scenes of assassination employing magic.
No death no life - animated in vivid colors with inclusion of hilarious references, story about pair of MCs that have made a deal with a God of another world and proceed to climb towards their goal.

Future utopian Japan has eliminated hunger, poverty and automatized major branches of government, eliminated social uncertainty in large. In such world, where individuals career possibilities, social groups etc. are determined by system, there is no pace for irregularities. Special investigation bureau deals with social elements with heightened crime coefficient, place where equals meet on both sides of the law.
plus
Wonderful cinematic world. Parallel to Psycho-Pass I viewed Dune part 1 and Foundation by Apple Originals, comparatively Psycho-Pass offers a far better constructed and grounded sci-fi world. Not a single mention of religion (not directly at
...
least), most questions are answered, where are artists and musicians? Those authorized by Sibyla System continue to perform as well as illegal bunch in deteriorating parts of city. Psycho-Pass stands equal to Blade Runner or Judge Dredd, which to are fascinating and well told sci-fi worlds.
minus
Most of the crimes had happened purely in unsupervised territories. How in Sibyla's stewarded world there exist camera blind spots is beyond me. If all people live in apartments equal to Akane's couldn't the home AI just feed necessary sedatives with breakfast to people who show signs of deteriorating Psycho-Pass? There are a countless flaws throughout the series, where all-powerful system is shown to be the opposite. Which I wrote off to it still being in process of implementation. From Masaoka viewer learns that system was implemented during his lifestyle while Ginoza was still a child, so it couldn't have been more than 30 odd years ago.
Recommendations of similar anime:
Promised Neverland (season 1) - there exist certain similarities between these two, as in both world is revealed to have serious secrets and in both a mysterious system is in place to govern/maintain the world. Don't watch the second season.
Deadman Wonderland - a sinister plot takes place in anime which viewer can attempt to uncover. Anime finished awkwardly, and as far as I read comments on reddit, manga had gone astray somewhere or other as well. But gore and one system to rule them all still is eyepleasing (on second thought Btoooom! could be better, anime concluded nicely, manga went into prolonged serialization rather than telling story that had captured readers attention)
Towa no Quon - THIS! I remember viewing it under the name of infinity of the immortal, say you ain't intrigued, and story is well told and has a satisfying and acceptable conclusion. Similar to Psycho-Pass in that the setting is Sci-fi, discusses morality and gray reality of life.

short
MC a country bumpkin girl ,as described by her best friend, still in grief after her mother's death, with passion for music. Being unable to sing since mom's death (Your Lie in April, much) registers in social media platform "U", where she regains self-confidence to sing. Bunch of Twitt.. "U" drama happens, concluding, "U" brings both old friends and new acquaintances together.
plus
Animation was top notch. Hand-drawn 2D for school of life part and 3D CG for world of "U". The song "U" by millenium parade is very addictive. All scenes where Chimai is
...
on screen scream of youth. The awkwardness of confessing your love as a high-schooler is well conveyed.
minus
This anime is very much intended for younger viewers who are head over heals for themselves. The messages conveyed, I feel, was that hiding from real problems in digital world solves everything, and while I can't deny that it's a surefire way to escape from reality and gain short term gratification, that's no way how to live properly(Origin by Boichi). IMO, Japan has traditional values and this anime opposed those in high degree. (everyone is unique, individual needs preserve over societal needs, gaining media attention is as good as solving the problem) Like, what did MC accomplish by visiting the two abused children? What good did her actions serve but self-gratification? I think, none.
Recommendations of similar anime:
Summer Wars - similarly animated anime with 3D online world and 2D real world, upholds more traditional values, as familiar bonding and showcases how Japan has adapted to deal with large scale societal disturbances by each doing what they can to help the society.
Hal! - MC deals with a loss of a loved one. Beautifully shows integration of modern technology in Japan with it's aging population. Touching story, well written.
Welcome to the N.H.K. - MC is completely lost in life. Slowly via baby step, one insignificant action after the other, MC rediscovers why life is worth living.
(Even that same Your Lie in April, tells similar story of losing a mother, and suffering emotional trauma, that stops from performing in musical sphere as MC did before the loss.)

short
MC gets reborn into world of sword and magic, raised by three what is revealed to be undeads into what he later becomes a brilliant warrior-priest. Following his promise to goddess that bestowed MC with a blessing, MC travels to fight evil and set lost souls acourse.
plus
MC has only vague notions that he's been reborn, apparent by him having adult like consciousness since birth and hitherto memories of bad filial relationships from his past life. Story seemed highly promising, which made me read manga. Bishops view of preserving the image of priesthood
...
uncorrupted was amiable.
minus
Story is too rushed. Having had read manga as far as my means allow me to. Scene of Melandor's injuries (present but mellowed out to fit vanilla theme) and Bee blaming are absent. Animation while not bad per say, at times is unfit. Reminiscent of Made in Abyss (MIA used their choice of colours better), colors are undiluted and bright, but there is no tonal shift but the weather to indicate when MC is lost in himself (e12) or when he's traversing the brave new world (e7). And pacing... From having spend third of the anime inside an abandoned church, couple of episodes rescuing poor villages, to receiving blessing from church and local feudal lord in two episodes and exterminating beasts and demons in the entirety of Beast Woods in another two. Main issue is with vanillization of otherwise quite gray story.
Recommendations of similar anime:
Made in Abyss - similar story of travel and animated in beautiful vibrant, deep colours.
Erased - story about MC on a solo journey to restore order and justice in real world, via time leaps which only he remembers, set in modern day Japan.
March Comes In like a Lion - thematically similar, with beautiful animation. MC is a high-schooler/professional go player, that has suffered life's realities.

short
Stinky (literally the first adjective attributed to MC in this anime) MC guy gets isekaid. Thick plot armor teleports him separately from the rest of his group, into dangerous human uninhabited territory where, padding on armor make it so he gains OP abilities. Following typical tropes on his way to advance adventure guild rank MC gains ever increasing harem.
plus
I got the feeling that anime was self-conscious of how bad it is, so it tried to be a good bad anime. Basically Fairy Tail with acknowledged harem plot-line.
minus
Simple animation (shadows are
...
a block of one color, character outline is drawn with single line etc.) I seems zoophilia is encouraged in anime's universe. The serialized plot was bad. Everyone in Isekaid classroom, which MC doesn't meet in anime, are placed under slave spell and don't seem to mind. are hated in magic academy they attend because they are summoned heroes (not sure). The MC has no initiative, simply gets involved in situation, which doesn't need his involvement, does something to benefit himself, and continues waiting till next event happens in his surroundings.
Recommendations of similar anime:
Fairy Tail - no isekai involved, but has both good and bad episodic stories and a greater serialized plot that (as far as I remember from watching first anime series) was good.
Ixion saga DT - consciously bad anime, which embraces it's badness and had erotic moments and funny over the top, goofily animated moments akin to Sket Dance/Fairy Tail.

MC is an avid reddit user on r/im14andthisisdeep sub. After another casual day of living the privileged life but being too deep and misunderstood by world, he skips school, opting instead to spend time as his heroes do, wandering the streets and being a public menace. He gets kidnapped so badly animated Squid game x X-men death match can start. Plot doesn't progress anywhere, gives no reason to sympathize with any of characters and series viewer base is based on cliff hanger addicts.
plus
Ignoring the execution, idea of random people having knowledge of having a
...
super power which needs to be discovered seems fun (Gantz, Btooom! vibes). The archetypal trope of villainous/ethically gray protagonist, can serve as a great medium for dissecting traditional values.
minus
Animation is cheap, all 'mind games' have an ending, but seem to miss quite the important bits of beginning and middle parts. Basically only after something is uncovered are clues relating to how it could have been predicted shown. Animation is really bad. Characters are at best one dimensional - the big muscular guy, the hot psychopath girl, the wise old man etc.
Recommendations of similar anime:
Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor - detective with layered characters thought out plot, actually good mysteries, high stake gambles (not typical action scenes), bizarre/memorable animation.
Psycho pass - dystopian future sci-fi with underlying detective story, smooth and exquisite animation, high level animation.
Btooom! - similar to Deatte 5-byou de Battle but far better execution. Story starts to lag as it progresses, not so much in anime as it simply ends abruptly, but quite evidently so in manga.
Gantz - similar to Deatte 5-byou de Battle but far better execution. Anime stays truthful to source, and manga never promises more than what it delivers, which is pure eye catching gore and epic illustrations.

short
Villain protagonist or tragic hero MC vanilla guy experiences betrayal on all possible stages after being isekaied. Slowly manages to move past it, but still continues to preach nice guyesnness and vanilla (stepping on same rake twice, much) As story progresses, I think author didn't expect to be writing it for so long and all kinds of wild, plot armor clad stuff happens.
plus
I enjoyed underdog story told in the beginning of anime, but once Filo appeared, whole 'dark' hero theme fell in the ground. After finishing season 1, I quickly caught up to
...
manga, and artifact wielders are wild, a cool concept, that reminds me of fly fishing Rick.
minus
Story adheres to traditional values and characteristics of good and bad, heroic and villainous too much. A lot of fan service for all tastes - young: Melty, furry: Filo, Raphtalia, simple minded: Malty etc. Of course, there's the elephant in the room: Raphtalia's age. While it is explained that demi-humans age differently, through levels instead of time. The facts remain that Noafumi kissed underaged and sexualized Raphtalia on screen.
Recommendations of similar anime:
Aldnoah.Zero - can't recommend this anime enough. Epic battles, planetary politics, little to no romance taking away time from the pure eye orgasmic animation. The actually well structured and rational 'gray' ethical questions discussed.
The Devil is a part-timer! - much more easy going and light hearted than A.Z, with better story and more sophisticated characters than shield hero. (How Not to Summon a Demon Lord - might be similar, but it's still on my 'Plan to watch' list)

MC gets iseaied, all we know about him is that his parents died when he was young and now his only living relative, grandfather, had passed away. MC is a studious guy with higher than average knowledge on state affairs, economics and politics. In short succession MC acquires harem to boink, kingdom to rule and work pile to slave away.
There is a drastic fall in anime production somewhere around midpoint (after first 4 episodes before 8th episode). Source of story is light novel with manga adaptation of the same name (manga illustrations are
...
much better than anime and story is more flushed out/detailed),
But animation is degrading. Reminds me of Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko. Different studios but same horrid animation style. Stills are increasingly in use with voice-overs telling the story. Fewer and fewer lines are used for art etc. Some of more iconic scenes got left out (comparing manga v. anime) and things that could have been conveyed using visual medium ever often were told by voice actors.
Recommendations of similar anime:
Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko - if you enjoyed Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki then Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko has similar sense of rushing and degrading animation episode after episode.
Aldnoah.Zero - story is similar as a realistic MC has to deal with a lot of bs from both friend and fiend, scale is much large, animation is times better, musical score too.
Alderamin on the sky - MC is a plain staff officer in failing state's militia, and he offers some insight into political scheming and larger landscape of on the ground action.

Story is amazingly entertaining, with well fledged world building and societal structure in this world. Main theme of anime: hunger; self-acceptance; overcoming structural hardship. Animation looks great, hand drawn through and through. Anime opening and ending both now and at the time of ongoing release were huge successes.
IMO, main anime purpose is to attract new audience towards source material (and earn some in the process), this anime accomplishes it perfectly. During weekly release, I jumped into manga and was a devoted fan till the end.
Excellent adaptation, manga's dark theme is well preserved, however,
...
some of minor actions scenes, like Appleseed's case, are animated at lower quality. Would strongly recommend this manga as it deserves to be one of last decades greatest stories.
Recommendations of similar anime:
Ajin: demihuman - a Fantasy story set in modern times, about systematical social injustice towards a minority group. Comparatively better portrayal of military and society's actions. A much grounded story with no generations long scheming.
Jormungand - a Fantasy story set in modern times, about wartime orphan turned mercenary. Relatively realistic weaponry and mercenary group interactions. Gravity defying boobies. Realistically portrays MC (who hasn't received any formal education, and lacks common sense in many ways, in theory how most ghouls should be).
