A very good anime that I binged in a day, but the ending made me scream at my screen.
The story about revisiting childhood memories and making up for missed opportunities was great, and the found family was amazing, but I’ve never been fond of the ‘unfounds your family’ trope at the end. It’s surely a profound message about moving on and Poco doing what he needed to, but who’s going to take care of him now? Souta will be okay, but will Poco?
The moment at the very end gives me some hope though.
Overall I loved this anime. The op and ed were amazing
...
and I didn’t skip them once, I was genuinely invested in GaoGao’s mini episodes and I liked that the characters all felt realistic and human. Poco was adorable and I’m a sucker for found family.

Just read the manga
This anime looked cute at first glance and I enjoyed it a bit, but it felt rather boring and simple. School scene, dungeon scene, school scene, dungeon scene, no real driving plot.
Someone mentioned the manga was better and they’d cut a lot out of the anime, turns out that was completely true. The anime sanitized the designs, cut out the best fight scene ever for budget reasons and made the two servants pretty much insta besties instead of having their bloody battle and the entire Lucelia lore they teased at in the fight. Whats the point of making an anime adaptation
...
if you can’t make a faithful recreation? The manga has interesting characters and an actual driving plot, the stakes are real and there’s actual danger.
Apparently the Light Novels are very boring, so it’s likely the anime adapted from those and is independent of the manga, but I dropped the anime and just read through the manga. Great art, interesting story, made me laugh, go read that instead.

“What the fuck” the Anime
Rating 8/10 maderakas
I watched one episode of this anime and immediately added it to my ‘chill vibes’ folder. It seemed like a good anime to have on in the background, with anthologies telling multiple stories and no rush for a big plot
HOLY SHIT this anime takes a turn. If you think you can guess an episodes plot, you’ll be wrong. It’s funny at times, gory at times, sometimes sad and others with fan service. It crashes all the storylines together in the middle of the season and proves that nothing was just there for no reason. I genuinely thought characters would
...
die at points.
Story 7/10
I enjoyed this anime a lot, but it’s not what it seems. It’s weird and disjointed and then everything is happening all at once, but it’s good. The last episode is hilarious.
Characters 9/10
Everyone was interesting! Background characters grew as people and they all had their own lives and quirks!
Romance 6/10
Occasionally frustrating and slow burn but cute. Everyone ships it except Guivre
Also Morlock is the main character.

A surprisingly lovely story!
I love the gourmet genre and found this while looking for a new one.
Our premise: A young man suffering from a medical condition needs to eat constantly, but his weight is exponential and is having a severely negative effect on his health. His doctor suggests a virtual reality game where he can continually eat and not gain any weight.
Going in to this I expected a lot of fat jokes, but everyone around Min Hyuk genuinely cares about him. His doctor made a few cracks, but his physical trainer and medical team love him and want him healthy. He has a doting
...
father who loves him despite his weight, but wants him healthy and happy above all. Another lovely thing was how Min Hyuk was drawn, with gentle rounding that makes him lovable and happy looking instead of disgusting or unsightly.
Min Hyuk has had to diet continually and still can’t lose his weight, but in this game he can cook and eat whatever, he can appreciate the simple taste of bread he’s had to go without.
This manhau is also wonderful because you can imagine being in his place. As someone who struggled with food, not being able to eat much without getting sick, I hope to be alive should the day come where Athens is a real game. To try all the sweets and breads and ethnic dishes I could ever want without getting sick or gaining weight and not having to worry about wasting what I don’t like.
Overall, a great manhau to live vicariously through for those who love food but can’t appreciate it due to illness, diets, or sensory issues. I want Min Hyuk to succeed in his journey and eat all the delicious things!

Wonderful Anime, but picks and chooses from the manhua
I read and loved the manhua of Lady Elise, and was so excited to see it adapted when I hadn’t realized it was in production at all.
Let’s start with some good things
Elise is a very likable protagonist, and you want her too suceed. Having her return to her first life and get a second chance, rather than possessing the body of a book or game character as if often done, it a very interesting choice I enjoyed a lot. The change can be a bit jarring considering she had been a horrible person once and is
...
now literally perfect, but she did have twenty years in Japan spent learning and growing as a person.
Like the original content the story is interesting and engaging. I loved the Manhau’s story, so it wasn’t surprising that the anime flew by. The changes and mix and match of the story was jarring to a fan of the original content, but it was well written and not out of place to a viewer not following the manhau’s content closely.
Added new content not in the original, including more about Elise’s second life as a doctor! We got to see more about her death and her successes as a doctor, as well as meeting a friend that makes the loss of this life bittersweet.
It’s a medical drama anime! For those who live medical shows this is very fun. I loved the medical mystery of the season finale.
And some less than nice things
First off they pick and choose from the original story, taking an arc from the end of the manhua and slapping in into the story. I hadn’t read this far in the manga yet, but it was a very confusing change.
The war arc was my favorite in the manhua and it is cut here because there wasn’t room. I can only assume the war and disease arcs will be in season two. I hope they’ll iron out the story and fill the holes they may have created. If this doesn’t get included or a season two isn’t made, I’ll be very disappointed, as the war arc is very important to the story and Elise’s character.
Severe lack of lamp, lol. I know it will come later, but the comments on each episode loved to call back to her lamplessness.
They made the king a more sympathetic figure rather than the asshole he was in the original story. He’s still rude and going back on his wager in an underhanded way, but these decisions are suggested by an advisor who shoulders the hatred reserved for the king. I can assume this was done to make him more likable and us care more about him since he’s a large part of the finale?
Lastly Elise really is perfect. This isn’t a bad think necessarily, she’s genuinely lovable and kind, but everything works out for her as a true protagonist. She doesn’t truly face consequences for how she acted on her first life and everyone accepts the sudden (to them atleast) change in personality after some time. There were some good moments where she was doubted, but her perfection shined through. She’s never lost a patient, something that some of the best doctors can’t say due to complications and reality of life. As much as I love Elise being a perfect and amazing doctor who’s always right, I would love to see her meet a patient she can’t fix, someone she couldn’t save, and have her carve it into her heart as promised while facing the reality that she can’t fox everything just because she wants to. But! If this doesn’t happen, it’s still enjoyable, especially if you like an MC that doesn’t have to struggle.
