This did not feel at all like Code Geass. It felt like a re-hash, some bs villain with very little depth, very brief moments from characters of the OG series like Lelouch, C2, Suzaku. And a few we didn't even get to hear more than 5 words said by them. Kallen appeared for like 2 seconds and said one thing, that's it?? The ending rushed. Basically this was a disaster of a reboot, that bet on featuring old characters in cameos to promote it. I am a massive fan of the original series, and after this, I will now be telling myself that the real

Code Geass ended with R2, with the Zero Requiem. This time-line brought upon by the recap movies, while it started out good, it slowly devolved into this, through different writers, and a culmination of other things. This felt like some budget world disaster mech fighting series with "Code Geass" slapped on it, and featuring familiar characters. Had this have been given the writing and directing as the original, and made longer, it could've been something good. But everything, from the annoying characters, the dull villain, the overall empty feeling of the world and the atmosphere, just made it feel like something else entirely. They did a dis-service to the original series, and characters. I gave leniency to the Resurrection movie, because it had our main cast, but now, looking back, that was not really ideal either. TL;DR, Code Geass ended with R2, with the Zero Requiem, episode 50. That is my true canon.

I honestly don't know how I feel about this movie. Don't get me wrong, I am an extreme die-hard fan of the television series, so much so, that I still have PTSD from all the whirldwind of emotions it's put me through. I was so distressed and mellow at the end of Season 2, when Lelouch had Suzaku kill him, and the way he signed off while leading everyone who ever knew him and worked with him, that he was an evil conniving being, just saddened me. I desperately told myself and envisioned realities where he didn't die, and to cope, I envisioned where he

did explain things and reconciled with everyone and the Black Knights and lived with C2 happily ever after, while still being with Kallen, his sister Nunally, and being beloved by everyone. This movie gave me what I wanted, and saw Lelouch return and reconcile with everyone who thought they'd be wronged by him. However, this is where my mixed feelings come in, is the story of this movie. I find it very lacking and pretty dull, with some war mongering desert nation trying to start shit because oh peace sucks bruh. I also thought the antagonists were very shallow and poorly written too. Basically, I loved our beloved characters and their interactions with each other, but not so much the story they embark on in this movie. I still rate it 10, because I just cannot bring myself to downtrod on an installment of a series that really changed my life. I simply would've wished that this movie not exist and we have gotten a third 25 episode season, and if the same antagonists and plot stuck around, fine it would've then had ample time to have been thoughtfully structured out and built up as a monumental continuation to R2. Long story short, I did enjoy the movie, but it has its flaws, and I still am just happy Lelouch is back alive and can happily keep in touch with the beloved cast, though he only be alone with C2. As they move on in life, I hope the characters of our beloved cast will continue to contact Lelouch and keep in touch with him, especially our waifus, Kallen, and Shirley. please let me cope. I love Kallen too and her action in this movie was brilliant. C2 is amazing as well, and I loved her prominence as well. I just love happy endings, and that's what this movie gave, although it was more bittersweet, but those murals depicted some form of an epilogue and it looks like Lelouch finally got around to calling Shirley, who must be totally mindfucked oh god. Anyway, yeah The Geass goes on I guess. Anyways, yeah give it a watch, and it's up to you. I enjoyed it for the characters and their interactions and more knightmare frame battles, and ofc Lelouch.
