The creators of this anime definitely took a different and interesting approach with this. After reading the title I automatically assumed it was going to be your typical rom com anime, whereas the main character would miraculously sweep the girl off her feet, and they will live happily ever after. I was proven wrong after watching episode 13, and I must admit; they most definitely left us on a cliff hanger.
The story starts off with Hikigaya, who basically becomes a loner due to bad experiences with society, mostly bad experiences with females.
...
Getting rejected from one girl to the other, he came to the conclusion that the best thing for him to do is to keep to himself. His homeroom teacher notices that due to his lack in socializing, it's taking a toll on his studies. As a result she places him in a special kind of club that provides "services" for students. From there on his "rom com" begins.
I think that the art in this anime was well done. The characters were drawn almost perfectly. The background and the details for the objects was great, and the animation was smooth.
As for the characters, I really liked Hikigaya and Yukino's personality. I thought they were very unique, and they made watching this anime very enjoyable, despite the fact they didn't have much character development due to the anime only having 13 episodes.
I think everyone should definitely give this anime a try. I wouldn't consider this a romance comedy because there is little to no romance in this anime (maybe there will be if there's a season 2), but it's most definetly a comedy. This anime will seriously have you laughing your ass off.

By looking at the cover of this anime I thought to my self that this would be another slice of life, romance school anime that would be good but could have been better. After watching the first episode, I was interested in how this would be played out, and I like how the creators wanted to take a different path for our female main character.
The story is basically about Yamada with a goal in high school, which is to have sex with 100 guys. Yep, 100 guys, and the fact that she's not the usual, clichéd Japanese girl who's in other anime makes
...
B Gata H Kei a lot more interesting. Now that being said she wastes no time in getting this operation started, until she realized that she needs to lose her virginity first. So she puts back the 100 guy plan and looks for a virgin herself, and that's where she meets Kusuda. After meeting him, the anime goes on showing how the feelings they have for each other bloomed.
Now about the art and sound, I'm not really the type of person who will go into deep detail about these two but, the art in B Gata H Kei was great actually. In some anime the characters looks pretty plain, but in this every character had a unique quality in their appearance, except for Kusuda. I really disliked how he looked, he was very plain.
As for the sound the opening theme was perfect for this anime. The music they played through out scenes were well played, and some fit the right moment perfectly.
The characters in this were all likable, except for one of the main, which was Kusuda. I'm not really the type to beat up characters, especially in romance animes for being clueless but I have to say Kusuda is a complete no no. I mean it could've been because I watched this English dubbed instead or subbed, but I have to say that Kusuda's English voice acting was horrible. Other than that the characters were hilarious, and I liked all of them.
In the end I really did enjoy this anime, I entered it feeling unsure if I did, but it started off with comedy right off the bat, and that's why I gave enjoyment the score of 9, but overall I gave it an 8 because of Kusuda's voice acting, although his Japanese voice actor is probably a lot better. Overall I recommend this to other people, and yes ladies this is female friendly ^.^

Now, I've read some of the reviews before watching this and after reading some of them they basically left the impression that this anime is really bad. Now that I've finished watching it I have to say this anime really is bad. It did have some very good potential but the creators couldn't quite grasp it. Hidan no Aria had a good foundation, which is a high school that changes its students into mercenaries, but even though they had a good foundation in the end they didn't build the house as nice as they should have been (I hope you guys get this analogy).
...
There was a lot of foolish mistake made in this and for starters there was no story. The episode started with action right off the bat, with little explanation, then the creators decided to let the main character/narrator explain what was going on.
Another mistake they made, which was really bad were the characters. There was little character development and a few of the characters for some reason had nicknames of Historic people, for no apparent reason. I honestly don't even know where the creators were going with this, but I think it was supposedly suppose to contribute to the 'story' some how.
I noticed while watching this, the characters repeatedly kept referring to an article that I guess the school came up with. I think it was Article 2, "Trust your friends and help when they need it". Lolwut, is this the best they got? I honestly feel that the creators came up with the mercenaries idea, and after that they just rushed into it. Also the whole bullet proof clothes thing really did ruin this anime. If the creators allowed wounding and blood, this would have been a whole lot better. Hidan no Aria really suffered because of the creators, the name doesn't even have any meaning!
One thing I noticed some people were throwing around in they're reviews was that there was a harem going on throughout this, and I have to say I completely disagree. I feel people feel if there's even one girl that likes the main character for no apparent reason then that's a harem, wrong!
Here's the definition that I strongly believe in for a Harem; Harem= when 3 or more girls have been confirmed to like the main character or have a strong fascination over him for no apparent reason or a not good enough reason.
Two girls liking the main character at the same time is just coincidence and not a harem, so in Hidan no Aria's case, there was no harem, there was only one girl that confirmed she liked Kinji.
But aside from all that, the art was pretty good, the characters were drawn well and so were the guns. The background were also drawn well, the art is probably one of the only good things about this show (yikes!).
The sound was alright, the opening and ending themes could have been better. As for the voice actors, there were probably only two I felt fit the characters they were voice acting, which is Aria and Riko.
Despite all that, I did enjoy this show. It entertained me, despite the nonsense it had. I really feel this show should be given a chance by everyone, although most people who reviewed it either said "it sucked" or "it's okay", I think everyone should give it a shot.

Most Mecha and Sci-fi people are looking at this and thinking about giving Infinite Stratos a shot. Well if your one of those people, it'd be best to stand clear, for this anime is not your type. Part of the anime industry are stuck on creating anime with an unclear plot, a plot that doesn't make sense, pointless harems, and too much fan service. But at the same time all of this entertains some people. There are some viewers who do like ecchi and harems, and that's okay, that's your personal preference. I wouldn't call IS a fail but a disappointment because it
...
did have some potential in it but no cigar. I decided to compare it to the anime Freezing and noticed they were aired almost exactly the same time, so it's possible they were competing with each other.
To start it off, IS didn't really have a story to it, which was a major mistake. What the creators need to understand is that every anime needs a story. Its like building a house without a foundation. Without a story, the anime almost isn't going to be favored. Now there are some houses that are standing strong without a foundation, and there are also some anime that are still entertaining without a clear plot.
The art in IS for the characters were good, but for the mecha part, the IS's they were piloting weren't well thought of. There were parts of it that was just floating...in the air. Nothing were attached to them or anything. They didn't really put much thought into the mecha part but mostly into the harem. The backgrounds on the other hand were pretty sweet though.
The sound was alright, the opening and closing themes were pretty good, not bad at all. There were probably one or two songs they played during the action scenes that were just straight up horrible, but music choice shouldn't really affect how much you enjoy an anime.
The characters weren't bad, but many people can't really like them if a harem is going on and there's not enough time for character development.
But with only 12 episodes, a harem going on along with fan service there's not enough time to allow character development I guess. *scratches head*
I have the enjoyment category a 9 because despite all the fan service, the harem, the absence of a plot (and I for one strongly prefer anime with good plots), I actually did enjoy IS. It was rather funny in my opinion, and I hope some of you do actually give it a try.
IS wasn't all that bad. If they were truly competing against Freezing, then I can see where the creators were trying to get at but the didn't do such a great job, the anime could have possibly been rushed.
Overall if you don't mind harems and fan service, try this one out. If not then forget this show.

A lot of people are really beating up this anime because the high fan service. Putting the fan service aside, the producers did a great job in this anime.
The story starts out with a zombie apocalypse with a bunch of high school students and a obnoxious school nurse and they're desperately trying to escape. The group was basically like the Titanic after it struck that iceberg, it slowly started to sink and eventually it was surrounded by darkness. High School of the Dead is basically the same thing although it did suffer one "miracle syndrome" (basically when the scene is in a
...
despair, a miracle happens to save it).
The art was amazing in this. The creators definitely did put in the work to give amazing art. Everything was detailed great, the characters, background, the guns, everything. The sound was also outstanding. I usually don't like opening themes for shows but this opening theme had a good rock song to start it off. Both the opening and ending theme songs are great.
The characters in my opinion was not clichéd, and actually took me by surprise. I honestly feel that all the characters in the group are likable. They're all badasses in their very own way, they're what makes the show so enjoyable.
Honestly, if you put the fan service aside, this is a really good anime, the plot was well thought of, the art was well drawn and the music was well played. Everything was well done, even the fan service (lol) and I really did enjoy watching this, from watching Saeko beat the crap out of a zombie with her wooden sword to Takashi cracking another zombie's skull with a wrench to Kouta launching a 7.62x51mm NATO round into a zombie's head. Despite all that great action the only reason I left HOTD with only a 9 is because they left me on a cliff-hanger. Honestly, they totally screwed up in the end by leaving us blank, but hey its typical Japan now-a-days with making anime with only 12 episodes. So to conclude this, if you like action, drama, zombies and can put aside fan service, HOTD awaits you otherwise you may want to rethink watching this.

Watching Another was like people drinking alcohol. The more they drank, the more they wanted and Another was pretty much the same way.
...
Now for just 12 episodes the plot/story was played very well. Everything fell into place perfectly. The beginning is started out with a mystery of what accorded to the class the main character is in. As the episodes went on so did the mystery, and it kept growing stronger.
I'm not really good at explaining how the art & sound is in anime so I'm going to keep this short and simple: the art in Another was perfect, but the sound was good. Not perfect in my opinion but it did do a good job in adding the feeling.
The characters were also perfect for this plot, although they were clichéd, just a bit so don't worry.
Overall this anime was done perfectly, plot, art, characters, everything was done perfectly EXCEPT for one thing, and that's the ending. One thing I feel Japan is doing now is putting less effort in the ending, and the ending is very important, its the conclusion, it's what's suppose to either satisfy us because there will not be a sequel or its suppose to appetite us for the next season. What ever the case is Another is one of those animes that leaves you on a cliff-hanger, with no knowledge whether there will be a season 2. The story is left unfinished, and there is definitely more room for a season 2.
Basically, if you are looking for mystery along with drama and action, then Another is the show you should be watching.

*WARNING: This review contains minor spoilers*
A continuation from the first season, so just like everyone else said, if you haven't yet watched the first season then it would not be wise to watch this one. It would simply be like picking up a novel, and begin reading it in the middle of the story. That being said, the story is continuing from where Craft Lawrence promised Holo to bring her back to her home town.
...
I can't really say much about the art other than its good. There really isn't anything to mention about it other than it's not horrible. (Some people like to write 2 paragraphs about this)
The sound in Spice and Wolf was well done. The opening theme in my opinion fits it just perfectly. The music is also perfect, it fits the time of year and it also gave the atmosphere in certain scenes.
The characters in this are probably one of the best things this show has to offer. So we have a skilled, kind merchant who's trying to make a living (and also a profit) named Craft Lawrence, and then we have a wolf, a cute wolf named Holo. Both characters are very entertaining through out the show, and together they make "Spice and Wolf".
After finishing this I was a bit disappointed because of the lack of episodes. The end definitely left me on a cliff-hanger. The story did not yet come to a conclusion and there most definitely should have been more episodes, but this can mean there will be a season 3.
Overall, the second season was a success and it even seems to be a bit better than the first. If your someone who's interested in Economics or Business than you can understand and enjoy this show. For those of you who are not interested in Economics/Business, it may be hard for you to find a connection in this.

Usually when we watch anime we don't want something clichéd, but we want to watch something unique. Now unlike some vampire animes, Shiki is old school clichéd, in in this case, that's what we want when it comes to vampires. No offense to the people who love Twilight, but we don't want friendly vampires, who are falling in love with humans, who sparkle in the sun light (lol).

[Story]
Story takes place in area I guess you can call 'isolated' village. It starts out with mysterious deaths that were occurring all over the village. In the beginning, no has any idea of what's going on, only the viewers. The story starts up smooth and continues on a good pace.
[Art & Sound]
I really did enjoy the art in this anime a lot, but there was one thing I disliked and that was some of the character's hairs. There are at least 3 characters who have weird hairstyles, hairstyles you would see on either bleach or one peace or etc. Other than that the characters were well drawn in my opinion. The sound was also rather good. The music helped being the atmosphere in some scenes and the English voice acting was well done.
[Character]
While watching this some of you may wonder, "who is the main character?" Well there are two main characters in Shiki, and I feel one of them didn't get as much development as the other. I also feel that Megumi should have been one of the main characters rather than a supporting character since it seemed she's gotten just a little more character development than other supporting characters.
[Overall]
Overall I really enjoyed Shiki. It had the key elements to be one of those good vampire shows; mystery, violence, drama and a lot of blood!
I really recommend this to anyone who is looking for the good ol' vampires rather than the ones from Twilight.

Some of you are looking at this and are saying "hmmm, should I watch this?".
Even though there are people saying good things about it in the reviews your still wondering if you should still watch it. That was me when I came across this anime, but I decided to give it a shot. Although this anime got some low ratings, I recommend that you watch it.
[Story]
Picture yourself dating a girl for a few months and you two eventually develop feelings for each other, then upon going to the place you two arranged a meet up you find out she was in a car accident and is now in a coma. You've become very depressed, and your good friend Mitsuki starts to look after you. After about three years you and Mitsuki have fallen in love. One day you receive a phone call that your previous gf, Haruka has finally woken up from her coma. You now have to make a decision; Do you stay with Mitsuki, or go back to Haruka?
[Art]
At first I did not enjoy the art at all. It was really something I had to get used to since I was use to modern art. With time you will adjust to it and realize it's really not half bad. After awhile you will start to love the art, so please don't judge the show based on the art.
[Sound]
The opening and ending theme were pretty good, I really did like the music. The voice characters were also good, they really did fit the character's they were given.
[Character]
I really did like the characters from the show, even though it was a little cliched, I was still able to really enjoy this show. As the episodes go by you will see that the main characters change, which makes the show interesting.
[Overall]
Overall I really did enjoy this anime, the plot and drama were great. The first few episodes may have felt rushed due to the season only having 14 episode, I felt that there should have been more. I really do recommend this to anyone who's looking for Romance and Drama, and don't let the score influence your decision on watching this.

There wasn't really much of a story in the first episode (and since it's the only one I saw, so I can't tell you if there is a story in other episodes), but after watching the first episode you can tell that Air is pretty much cliched. The main character is pretty different from the others but since this is a Romance anime the female protagonist is cliched almost to the extreme. She's your typical clumsy girl who's also pretty and very nice, and who will even let a stranger stay in her home. One thing that some of
...
the anime industry suffers at is the storyline and characters that they develope.
The art was reasonable, but I thought that having the females have bigger eyes than the males was pretty old school. The sound was alright, the voice actors weren't bad.
The characters in this were cliched, except the main character I suppose.
Overall I didn't really like this anime because it was cliched, and I prefer something more creative, but if your still unsure of watching it after reading this then try it for yourself.
