The Topic the Author conveys in the Manga is something which really opens your mind about Gender Norms, The Person does not get to decide His / Her Gender and just gets put on a boat expected by society to act in a way they approve. The Art style for a Heavy Plot like this is certainly a interesting Mix. When your first introduced with the Characters you think off them just being the Typical Baddie or the Good Guy, But the Anime suddenly breaks these and gives them Interesting Dynamics allowing all to complement each other making all of them very lovable characters.
