Certainly inspired by Overlord. 1. New powerful world society under an isekai protagonist lord. 2. Protag is anti-hero in nature/belief and holds 2 separate identities 3. "Genius mastermind" main character but realistically, all the side characters do the big brain planning and information gathering. They just overcredit their clueless master in a comical manner. 4. HUGE ONE: the servants (combat maids in Overlord) primarily have names associated to the greek alphabet. Naturally, both have a character with some beast connection. 5. In general; plenty of magic & political fantasy stuff

Both shows have a trolly, school related ghost. The school is split into a new and old building and the main story is based on several different smaller ghost stories. They each have their own very interesting art styles and very comedic at times, but can suddenly get semi-serious instantly and then back to goofing and clowning around

From the sharp visuals and audio, they both hold something in common. Though Dusk Maiden is more of a darker, spookier version of how Bakemonogatari does it. They both keep the quick cuts, deep, vivid, abstract and expressive colors. Audio fills the scenes whether actual music or just some thing to fit the situation.
