Even though the plots are completely different, they both have the same feel to it. The bgm is really similar and the characters are really similar giving both shows a similar atmosphere. Also, there are many references to countryside people being unfamiliar with the city. So if you enjoy one you'd probably enjoy the other.

One episode of Genei Taiyou and two episodes of Madoka (and of course thousands of spoiler posts on Tumblr) has already led me to believe that the atmospheres of both are very similar. They both start out as a cutesy show and then it just turns super dark. I don't know the characters too well yet, but they seem very similar personality-wise.

The character personalities are very similar. Eita is more or less like like Sorata in terms of how they react to things; Masuzu isn't really like Mashiro but she takes the place of the female transfer student; Chiwa is like Misaki because both of them are full of energy but still have their serious moments; and I haven't read the manga but I believe Himeka is to be like Nanami, one sided love and what not. The artwork is somewhat the similar as well. Setting mainly at a school. However, although OreShura has only released 4 episodes, I think Sakurasou is more emotional.

A few simple words... Chuunibyou Syndrome. Both of the main male leads have ex-chuunibyou syndrome and then a girl appears who finds out their secret and so they stay together. Although in Chu2byou Koi Shitai the girl has chuunibyou while in Oreshura she doesn't. ((I actually haven't finished Chu2byou yet so uhh... I'll update this when I finish both.))

Both try to sing to save their school, at first they are looked down upon and seen as a group with not much potential, but then they get better and more popular. In Love Live, the primary goal of starting the idol group was to save the school. In Tari Tari they started their musical group without knowing their school was going to be torn down, it's a problem that happens later. Both are music centered.

Similar amount of "seriously wtf" humor. The two characters in Senyuu are very Hijikata and Sougo like... and so if innocent killing and stabbing of another innocent person amuses you... they are very alike.

Supernatural characters, crazy humor, (more or less) detective agency... it's all really similar... azazel-san's humor is a lot more R rated though... other than that, if you like one you will like the other~

+The atmosphere. It's like so similar. +That music... something about it... the bgm for the two series give off the same feeling. +The variety of characters. The second the characters appeared on screen of K... it immediately reminded me of Durarara. They don't even look that much alike...I guess the badass level of some (most) of them... oh right, there's also one character that looks strikingly similar to Shizuo. +It's about battles between rivaling groups, and yes, brutal murdering is totally ok. +They both have the separated confusing plots which will end up adding together and making sense. +This is extra credit for all yaoi fans: EASILY SHIPPABLE CHARACTERS

Well... + There is a mysterious disease that spreads fast and kills people. The government is doing their best to hide it. + There are two main characters, both guys. One is extremely active and loves to fight while the other one is more reluctant. + The two main characters were friends for a while but then get separated for quite a long time. Later, when one of them is in danger, the other jumps in and saves him, reuniting them. + Deals with post-modern society technology/skills. + Studio Bones and well this one is for the yaoi fangirls... + The two main characters are totally shippable.

Both have the similar in the slight love plot line. The main guy character is a boy who won't give up on his love, is a bit mischievous, and extremely direct in the things he says. The main female character is a girl who simply isn't interested. She finds the guy, annoying. She will soon find that she has feelings for the guy too... but still find that he is unbearable. Both have the same type of humor in it, if you like one, you will probably enjoy the other.

Both series are similar in the theme of getting over something lost that can never be regained. There is the ghost of the dead person which only one character can see. The ghost wants to make people move on and yet its very existence is what holds them back from moving on.

Both have the same style of artwork (animated by P.A. Works). The characters have very similar personalities: Ohana and Miyamoto both have the energetic determined personality; Nako and Sawa are both the quite good friends, and Minko and Sakai are both cold and tsundere. They have the same school setting as well. Both are focused on a group of close friends making the genre slightly slice-of-life but with a bit of deeper meaning to them.

+Both are slice of life comedies. +School children who are seemingly normal... but not really. +No plot. +I swear they're the same thing but gender-flipped. +Jokes about high-school problems. (Guys have a more perverted sense of humor though) Yeah anyways. They're really similar. So if you like one, you'll probably like the other.
