It was a shame to see this series end in only 25 chapters, but so is the nature of weekly SJ releases and their cut throat serialization standards. So while only 25 chapters may feel like not enough for an honestly decent and fun series, it wasn't really able to capture me in any particular way across these last 6 months. Unlike some of the more popular SJ releases I felt that this title was somewhat lacking of a voice and personality of its own, which sometimes made it hard to come back to week after week.
The general premise was
...
fun, but I believe it's main compromising factor was the general lack of characters to really get invested into. The main cast of characters wasn't necessarily bad in the time I spent with them, but they didn't really capture me in the same sort of way the Jujutsu Kaisen cast did, and I believe that it is that lack of overflowing personality is what really hinders the overall enjoyment to be had from Ayashimon.
I could definitely taste the potential, but unfortunately it couldn't quite get those sparks to fly before its time was up. And without having a meaningful ending it's kind of hard to recommend this work in its current unfinished state.
However, I see a lot of promise in this author and I look forward to seeing what they come up with next!

*Spoilers sorry*
I was having a lot of fun with this series until all of the rejections started getting passed around, and I couldn't really get my head around all of the character motivations and actions.
It was fun at first to see such an unforeseen series of events between the main girl, gamer girl, and MC but after all of the smoke settled from that camping arc I was left confused and wondering "well now what?". And since that point my interest in the series slowly waned over time.
Best girl lost in the latest chapter so I'm probably not going to stay updated with this
...
series anymore which is a shame because it had a really great start and some fun moments.

Please don’t Bully Me Nagatoro is an anime in the oddly specific but wildly popular genre of “Female classmate teases / bullies male MC” alongside other similar shows of Uzaki-Chan and Takagi-San. Like the other two anime Nagatoro relies on the relationship dynamic of the two leads in order to produce the majority of its comedy and drama, with a small supporting cast to spice things up. Out of the three I would say that Nagatoro probably does it the best, however this is something entirely up to each viewer's preferences and comedy tastes. The titular Nagatoro is an overall enjoyable character

to watch as her high energy keeps things lively and entertaining. The one caveat of this is her obscessent comments of “gross” “perv” and “creep” start to grate on you after a few episodes. Senpai on the other hand was fine as far as male MC’s in this genre go, being pretty flat overall, but fulfilling his purpose as Nagatoro’s vocal punching bag sufficiently. He could definitely be more boring so I’m not going to really complain about him. As a side note I think Daiki Yamashita was an excellent casting role for him as I already perceived Deku as a dorky crybaby so the voice transferred over well from him into senpai. My only major complaint with the show is that the quality of the sketches seemed to vary significantly, with some episodes being a complete slog to watch without so much as a chuckle and other episodes being quite entertaining. I suppose that’s just the nature of comedy as not every joke is going to stick. The art and sound design were about average for a seasonal show, but since the main draw of this anime is through its writing it's not something I paid much attention to during my watch. Overall, Nagatoro is a fine comedy in an otherwise slow season for anime with nothing outright terrible about it, but also nothing outstandingly exceptional in any one area. If this is your kind of show you have probably already watched it by now and if it isn’t your type of show there are several comedy anime I would recommend for you before this one.

It should come as no surprise that if you enjoyed the first ZLS you are going to have a great time with revenge. Fulfilling on the necessities of creating a good sequel, revenge builds on both the characters and plot in a meaningful and interesting way. All the girls get individual episodes which really helps to build on their already established characters who are all entertaining to watch. The most entertaining of all Kotaro isn't as prominent in his debauchery this time around, but he's still just as funny as he's ever been. The art has also seen subtle improvements in

quality with the CGI in particular being incredibly polished, which is extremely impressive given that season one had fine CGI to begin with. Some people who only enjoyed the first two episodes of the first season for the unique music are probably going to remain disappointed as the music variety is a bit more narrow this time around. I would argue that the music is overall better in season two (even though that is a completely subjective matter) with episodes four and nine having some of my favorite songs from the series. If you have watched season one already you have basically zero reason to not watch revenge and if you haven't seen season one I believe the quality of revenge offers good justification for you to try the series out. It's pretty hard to sell a lot of people on an idol show, but this is probably the one that is best suited for non-idol fans like myself. Overall Zombieland is just a quality show that is entertaining to watch, simple as that.

Higehirou is a show where you can feel like you’ve been watching an episode for forty minutes and you haven’t even passed the halfway mark. Simply put I found it immensely repetitive as many of the dialogue scenes talk about the same things over and over again i.e. “this is illegal I shouldn’t be housing you” / “Don’t be scared of me I’m not going to abuse you” / “Ishida-san you’re a nice guy I appreciate you” ect. The dialogue itself is incredibly dry and lacks any sort of levity or personality to keep the viewer engaged with what's being said or explained.
...
This dry dialogue is perpetuated by the rather flat characters who are supposed to be the main driving point of this drama. Firstly you have a bland and generic office worker with little personality above wanting to do the “right thing” and being a “good guy”. There is also the slightly more interesting female lead who has a bit more personality than Ishida, being generally more lively and outgoing while also moody and insecure. However, with no stand out qualities other than having a tragic past she doesn't add too much to the table in terms of characters. While her struggles are very unfortunate and lead you to feel sympathy for her, I don’t believe that having a sad backstory automatically makes someone a compelling character. The story is fine and contains good themes and messages, but it’s hard to appreciate those things when the character interactions are so dull and shallow. I think Hinamatsuri is a great foil to this show with many serious and realistic themes being presented in a more heartfelt and engaging manner. Obviously not all types of media need comedy and action going on in them, but I believe Higehirou could have massively benefited from something to break up the staleness as over time it just becomes more and more of a slog to get through. There's nothing really to say regarding audio and visuals as it’s just about the average level of quality you could expect from any seasonal show. Overall, some people are really going to like this show and some people are really going to hate it, I just happen to fit in the latter category as I believe there are much better options available if someone is trying to enjoy a drama or romance anime.

First things first, the OP slaps which is kinda unfortunate since the rest of the show doesn't impress me as much. It's a fine anime overall with a cute premise and decent jokes. It operates in that strange middle ground of light ecchi where they talk about lewd things but isn't too revealing for the most part. The main girl is decent and she has her moments, especially the discussions with her dad being the highlight of my watch. On the flip side the main guy is the generic good guy wholesome character type so he doesn't really add much to

the show. It's not the worst thing in the world, but it just gets swept up in the ocean of other very similar comedy anime that have existed since 2010. But since the episodes are half length the time investment isn't too high so it might be good if you're just looking for something to kill time.

I don't really watch idol anime so I may not be the best point of reference for this type of show, but I can happily affirm that I had fun watching Zombieland Saga. Zombies plagued pop culture for nearly a decade during the 2000’s with generic, uninspired media, but it was really fun to see zombies put in a very “anime-esq” situation and fleshed out. The comedy for this show is pretty great in my eyes as the opening scene sets the tone of what to expect with the rest of the show, which is probably why it became such a recognizable meme.
...
The slapstick nature of the series fits right at home with all the cartoony dismemberments going on. The characters also play well to the comedy as they have pretty good chemistry that builds over time. However, I’m not going to try and argue that they're super deep, with some of their personal quarrels getting a bit annoying at times. The obvious standout is Kotaro whose v.a. (Miyano Mamoru) does a fantastic job similar to his performances of other whacky characters like Dazai from Bungo Stray Dogs. The absolute manchild energy brought to the character makes him a delight to watch even though I would usually find his obscenest yelling annoying, but his chaotic nature just plays to the zaniness of the show. The music is also a lot of fun, especially the first two episodes where they perform very un-idol-like genres, I just wish they carried that across more of the series. The plot is fine, I mean I’m not sure what you want out of a show with such a ridiculous concept plot wise, but it is serviceable. Though, there are some parts that make you wonder about what’s going on behind the scenes. Much of it goes unanswered because Kotaro doesn’t explain anything, but it’s still fun to think about none the less. In summation I wouldn’t say that this is a show everyone would enjoy, but if you’re looking for a more wholesome comedy then you’ll probably have a good time with Zombieland.

Have you ever felt personally insulted by an anime? Cause that's what TPN S2 did to me and thousands of other fans. Every new episode was a kick in the balls as I had to watch in horror seeing one of my favorite properties go down in infamy for having the worst anime adaptation of all time. What is there to talk about between the mutilation of the original story, the character assassination of the protagonists, or the PowerPoint presentation they slapped on the end which left anime only viewers scratching their heads and manga readers screaming in agony. It is criminal

Probably the most overrated anime of the winter 2021 lineup. The pacing is some of the worst I've ever seen as it sloppily staggers between soppy cliché romance and extremely one note slice of life without properly merging the two at any point. You spend so much time with these characters in this group, but except for the lead male you only get surface level development and they all come off as pretty basic and bland. It's blatantly trying to wring emotion out of you, but the fact that it can't muster up anything unique or exciting makes it all the more
...
disappointing.
