I enjoyed this story, it is by far a lot closer to being a regular book, which means its written better than most light novels.
I didnt like that the main character didnt really seem to progress much during the story. She remained pretty much the exact same throughout and I think that is a big missed opportunity. The side characters do progress some.
You can track the affect the MC had on others in the story but the villains werent really fleshed out, well none of the characters were too much.
This mostly consists of running from basttle to battle with time skips, and there wasnt any
...
tension since the book tells you how everything turns out like 2 chapters in.

I have read 4 volumes of the light novel and all of the current chapters of the web novel. That being said so far the LN is much better at telling the story than the WN. The translations, explanations, names, everything is better.
id give the LN a 4 so far and the wn a 3 1/2.
Moving past that there are some problems that I have overall with the series but are bigger problems in the wn. That is the fact that the author repeats and rephrases the same info in different ways back to back over multiple paragraphs or pages for no reason. You will
...
literally get the same information repeated to you in a different way, much like im doing now but more annoying.
This is one of my three major problems with this wn/ln and light novels in general. You do not need to spend a whole page reintroducing a characters quirks that we have been aware of for the past 300 chapters. We got it bruh move the hell on and tell the story.
I already know the MC is a jackass who has problems communicating, I dont need you telling me that again after reading 1000 pages of you already telling me that 500 times.
My second problem is the chronology of the story. I was hoping that the reason for structuring the order of the chapters would reveal itself later on but in all honesty it really hasnt. The story and timeline is all over the place and it even switches for each character. The same character can have chapters in the past and future while the other character is in the present, then past, then future and present. Nah this isnt an compelling story telling element but you tried it author.
My third problem which isnt as big as the other two is very minimal growth in the main character (s). I like kumo overall but the way she goes about abusing certain characters, and the way she gets when she drinks is supposed to be funny. Unfortunately its not written well enough to come off as funny and seems forced and unneeded.
Still this is better than most light novels

I have a lot to say about this series, the author, the plot, the writing and the characters. This could have been a long detailed review but I do not feel like this series is worth it. I was going to drop it after volume one, then volume 3 but I decided to see just how crappy this rabbit hole gets.
I have a few problem points with this series
The main character has had every chance to easily resolve the issues between him and queen in every volume but doesnt do it, he is fixated on one outcome will easily ignoring the alternatives.
as another reviewer states
...
this leads to the problem of all of the issues in this series could have been solved easily if the MC wasnt so dense.
It takes until volume 5 for the information necessary to make this series even remotely interesting to happen. Up until volume 5 you have no reason to care about the world or the characters and even that is still option by the end of vol 5
The author repeats the same exact paragraphs full of information he just repeated a page or two ago multiple times per chapter in each volume. I can not stress how annoyingly stupid this is, this series would only be like 5 volumes long without this.
The author has some weird obession with under age girls and their underwear and "little butts" and he will keep stressing over it in every volume.
The story is not written well, like I said most of what you will be reading is information being repeated to you.
The main character is one of the worst cases of a know it all its to the point where he might as well be god because he knows more than literal gods that appear in this series. He can solve any problem and is always 20 steps ahead of everyone. He is a normal human but can pick complex locks with his fingers, beat down ships and monsters/gods with a stick. He is pretty much omnipotent.
The only interesting character is white queen and you will be on her side by the end of vol 9

Im not here to write a long winded review like so many before, honestly nothing about this show is worth that effort. Lets just saw, here I am again after watching another seasonal favorite that is once again, generically mediocre.
I honestly feel like I should just stop trying to figure out what people see in these type of brainless shows and accept that most of them are just bad.
One of the worse parts about this show is that it did start off interesting. I ignored somethings but found myself entertained with the whole plot surrounding Subaru and the Bowel Hunter and the insignia.
...
This is the best part of the whole series which is sad since after about episode 3 its all forgotten and most of the characters present will never be seen again or have barely any screen time.
Afterwards this shitshow goes downhill pretty quickly and stays there.
The weakest parts of this show are is lack of story and its terrible characters. The way they handle romance was pretty bad too, not gonna get into the whole thing with Rem and Subaru and his retard decisions.
The main character might just be the worse one in the entire show. Subaru is pretty unlikable and annoying. On top of being stupid and whiney. Thats all I have to say

After many years of watching anime I should already know how it goes with each years most hyped up Animes. Time and time again I watch them and are more or less disappointed with how they turned out.
Erased is definitely one of those anime"s. You can enjoy it, as long as you look pass the faults in the story and characters.
Mild Spoilers are ahead.
The story starts out with an unremarkable pizza boy main character who is doing nothing with his life. Shortly after we are introduced to his power, Revival, The power to turn back time.
The MC cant control
...
this power all the way, it seems to happen during his most pressing moments aka plot device. During one of the revivals he is sent back 18 years into the past and this is when the story really gets interesting and where it also starts to fail.
The MC is put back into the body of his 10 year old self, but still has the mind of his 29 year old self and all his memories. So why does the MC almost immediately have the mental capacity of a 10 year old. He literally makes too many dumb decisions that I cant see a 29 year old making. Lift up the seat belt genius!
Why does one of his 10 year old friends have more smarts than a veteran private detective ?
A lot of moments in this anime are kinda hard for you to believe that a grown man is reacting to and that his child friends are also keeping up with. I mean someone literally gets divorced over a chocolate bar like what?? All these young lolis are in love with this grown ass man, why?
They threw child abuse in there with 0 explaination so you will feel sorry for the 29 year old pizza boys 10 year old gf, Kayo. (Kayo who repayed him in a messed up way RIP ship)
But lets skip all that, one of the biggests problems with this "Mystery" Thriller is the fact that the killer is no mystery at all. You find out who it is pretty much from episode 2 and you are correct! You are never fooled into believing anyone else is the killer besides Captain Obvious over there with the van full of candy killing kids. The thriller part fades almost completely away by the last couple of episodes so what are we left with?
The story/plot doesnt add up in many places and the fact that the person you hope will end up with the MC in the end, doesnt even end up with him. They kinda make up for it but meh.
Overall I enjoyed it but really the last 3 episodes really tanked the rating for me.
