Both series explores that of morality. 5) Both protagonists become more conscious and mentally stronger when they discover the truth behind society by experiencing the life of the organism. 6) Both protagonists are only a half of the organism; half breeds technically (Half-ghoul, half-parastye, etc.) 7) Both organisms presented in the animes feed on humans 8) Both protagonists done nothing wrong and are forced to live their new lives 9) Both protagonists have someone dear to them, thus protecting them. 10) Both protagonists produce danger within their surroundings whenever they’re around 11) Both protagonists turn cold, emotionless and inhumane due to their new “powers” Differences 1) Parasyte has an organism where they are capable of thinking for themselves. In other words, once they overcome a human’s mind, they place their own mentality within (They are like mini beings) they can also morph themselves in numerous modifications. For Tokyo ghoul however, this is not the case. The powers of a ghoul are not really alive (like breathing or maintain mentalities of their own) albeit, it does change the human’s mental and physical state itself.

There’s a separation between the game and the real life individual. Grimgar, however, is the contrary. The environment Grimgar is put within is the “real world” and it’s the world they must adapt into living within. 2) Grimgar has a more serious tone to its plot. SAO is very light weighted. 3) SAO has a harem, Grimgar doesn’t 4) SAO - There is a reason and a build up as to why the players are stuck within their world Grimgar – They all face amnesia, with no clue where they came from; they’re just there.
