They both share the same themes: Sacrifice, Brotherhood, Family, the "Never give up" and the "Life goes on". They are different genres but they have the same plot structure with the timeskip in the middle. You feel empity after you finish these anime.

There's the same mentality but with demons instead of spirits/vampires. There are less fights here but it's a lot more uncanny and horror that give you anxiety and stress, there are cruel scenes that are just impressive and traumatizing, osts are better in devilman.

They have got the same humor and Onizuka and Sakamoto are both gods but GTO has got a linear story, Sakamoto are just funny moments
