Both Vinland Saga and Demon Slayer have protagonists who lose almost everything they love, with exceptional fight scenes, and action. Although Demon Slayer has a more optimistic lead character who instead of going absolutely nuts like Thorfinn tries to be more optimistic and protect other people from the suffering he had to endure himself.

They're both gonna break your heart, and give you PTSD after watching them. Both of these shows are extremely good at exploring gory and deep topics that will tug at your heartstrings and make you grow attached to the characters just to watch them go through hell. If you liked AOT I am 99% certain you're gonna like 86 too, these two shows are very similar yet very different from one another at the same time.
