This anime is a MUST WATCH for any romantic comedy fans!
and to start with the very few cons of the series I will say season 3 starts out very slow and can have you thinking at times that it is not progressing as fast or in the direction, you would anticipate/like but it does this to shine the light on our other characters in the cast and give a deeper understanding and do some character building/development to the lovable cast.

After saying this it once again lulls you into a sense of lackadaisical slice of life/comedy and then closes out the season with a bang you ... will understand it is all just a wild ride and BOY HOWDY have I enjoyed every second of it!

and upon looking into this it has only covered roughly half of the manga, so if all goes well we could have at least 2 more seasons and hopefully 3 or a movie to cap off this AMAZING journey!

it may just be the best final season of any anime/show/series to ever be made.

At first, I was unsure why they swapped studios to MAPPA maybe money or timing problems, but I'm sure we can thank the director for this wise choice.
In this darker world, the post-time-skip characters the whole feel of the show has changed. Our heroes are no longer children fighting against the unknown enemy. They may just be the unknown enemy and about to bring the world to its knees.

The only qualms you can have is the different music, art or characters newly introduced.

But ... if you go into this not expecting the old Shingeki no Kyojin, but the new MAPPA Attack on Titan, you will be beyond pleased!

This is the perfect shade of dark/apocalypse to contrast WIT studio's terror/fear.

This anime is really a work of art, the characters are beautiful & colourful in both personality and animation the story is never slow yet does not feel rushed. There is plenty of moments where I thought this anime was stealing my heart and not 1minute of this show had me feeling like your normal cliche feeling which is very common in 12episoders or romance anime. The music and passion of characters really intertwine and pull you in and the voice actors are amazing it is some of the most astonishing work I have had the pleasure to listen to.

The bad = The real ... drawback to making this show a memorable great is instead of taking a slow approach to character development it is obvious they throw new characters with over the top emotions in to push the story and draw mei and yuzu together and show how unsure yet willing they are to be together.

while it can be seen as rushed or awkward time to throw romantic scenes at the viewer (I do remind you to think back to your days of being a teenager and really was anything planned or was it spur of the moment and awkward)
so I can see the realism in this and push through it as every time I have felt they will push the show into cliche drama it is resolved with logic and that is one thing I do love.

What is truly unbelievable is this anime is not finished and I felt the necessity to write a review to show other people this anime is a MUST WATCH!

I normally am a hard critic on anime especially with an expected 12episodes I tend to steer clear as the story is rushed, the characters have leaps in progression or more than not no progression at all and with 12episodes itis hard to complain as the animators/director and storyboard is packed full to tell the best version of the manga with minimal resources and time.

- resolving issues with logic (even if the issues are caused from horrible new characters thrown into the show)

cons;
- currently airing (have to wait for 1week per episode)
- only 12 eps :(
- bad story set up of new characters & introductions can be seen clearly as problems to create episodes.

I will hopefully be able to update this review after finished airing and change from 9/10 to a solid 10/10 and call this my favourite romance anime.

What starts off as your standard anime showcasing a young main with superpowers is quickly flipped upside down when the show not only brings in multiple other strong cast members but other Main characters as well which is untypical and then you throw in the elements of detective tv shows and novelizations you soon begin to realize this anime has become an intriguing plot with twists and turns and unforeseeable villain and intricate plot line all built from a seamless beginning that made me feel silly for thinking this would be another standard NCIS with superpowers and anime characters.

the art is absolutely beautiful and stands ... out in soo many scenes, I had to actually rewatch segments of the story as I was just caught in a daze staring at the backdrop or characters.

the music is really fitting and unique and does a great job of drawing you into the world and show.

In summary, if you like murder/mystery tv shows and/or good storytelling with a great cast of unique and individual characters with some anime superpowers thrown in for good measure to make the fantasy world come to life you will love B - The Beginning.

While the show may seem lacking or be pushed into the harem genre, do not be turned off as this show is quite the feel-good anime and has some great characters even if at first glance it seems cliche the characters are all given enough time to grow and show they are more than your average harem anime all drolling over the main guy and having needless plot twists for the girls clothes to fall off every 30seconds.

fanservice is deligated to main characters fantasies and thoughts and not pushed into the main story for no reason.

The fan service while present in every episode it is ... done sparingly and for comedic value or just the camera angle when it pans out for the fans and not to disrupt the story or characters in most circumstances.

Art is very pretty to look at and while avoiding 99% of harem anime this is one I can solidly recommend and hope others will give it a chance before writing it off in the first 2episodes.

Sound is more geared towards anime pop and the daily interactions are more comedic and always a good laugh which Is quite rare when translating is done on the low budget animes :)

so a solid 7/10

If only this had a good animation studio behind it and bigger budget it would have truly been amazing. while the story has sudden turns with no real explanation and random shit happening everywhere that does not get wrapped up it is still enjoyable and a great start to Netflix new mission to fund so many new projects to ramp up there service.

While there is some interesting characters and not much development over the ONA it has real problems pacing the story and getting the main characters personalities across and the plot is very jumpy as in it will start a story then take a ... full 180 turn into the next subplot/story with no real reason or intention the suddenly leave off the cliff hanger and act as it never happened and then jump back to it at the end

The art style is not so horrible after a few episodes but is really a letdown. with the bigger budget and animation studio behind this, I feel is what took this from an 8/10 show down to 6/10 show.
