“No one likes hearing people say negative things about what they like, It’s better to have more friends who share the same interest.” ―Kitahara Iori
Got this anime by recommendation of a podcast called Otakubox on their segment talking about best comedy gimmick on anime. They don't explain this anime more further, what they said is just "Get drunk! then watch this anime."
Following a journey of young blood Kitahara Iori finding another way of life by living in a small town with a lot of beautiful panorimics from the beach and ocean. I put myself into the mode of watching comedic anime, from the first episode
...
this anime got me almost hundred times. Easy and slow pace plot to follow with comedy as a main ingredient, you could follow this phase, Story - Drunk - Idiot things - Happy Ending.
Visual about the water panorimic is goddamn beautiful, including Opening OST with high tempo on the first scene making me so excited everytime i watch a new episode. Like eating Mac & Cheese with Cola.
Doing great things with these idiots in grand blue making my cruel day feel a little bit relax. C'mon get your snack, bring a beer, watch and enjoy it by yourself moreover with your friends. "Be happy" from Iori and friends.

Bringing back memories of Himura Kenshin as Hitokiri Battousai. Along with the dark side of his journey that surrounded him. Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuioku-Hen. The story was pulled back to complete piece by piece of history which exist in the main anime Rurouni Kenshin. It made seriously and very complex plot to follow. Tensions and Intensity of the mess could be felt straightly started from the first episode.
In this prequel. The story carried out seriously, involving bloodshed and cruelty at that period. Fighting scenes was made without jutsus but using pure sword skills that in my opinion supported a horrific situation in every part of its
...
episodes. Scratches wound, Sword Puncture, incison were made not too exaggerating therefore we could imagine it in real life.
The art and designs of the characters looked very different from the main anime. This made me a little bit surprised, because in just 1 year, the quality of the animation have been upgraded. The details of the environment made as realistic as possible, The expressions made stiffer then usual, that’s why rarely we could see a happy expression expressed by the characters.
The Sounds and Sfx was also made with dominant tense and sad situation. If it represented as colors, I believe it will made the situation in this anime looked gray.
I think that’s all I can tell you about. The Production Team of Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuioku-Hen made a good job in just 1 year interval, they were made it seriously considering they were made it just 4 episodes. I thought that was a good decision to make, thet could brought all the intense situation, sad and conflicts at that time felt very realistic to me. Respect!

AMAKAKERU RYU NO HIRAMEKI!!!!
Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan. An anime that I watched when I was I child and my source was just anime that broadcasted on a TV Station. Well I ain’t finished it yet, 9-10 years after that, exactly at July 2020. I decided to watch it again, Our lovely Rurouni. Himura Kenshin.
Story: 7
In this anime, I would say the plot is good but not the best. “What do you mean by that huh?” Well okay here’s a thing, The story focused on Himura Kenshin as a Rurouni (Wandering) who wants to take an atoney caused by his role as a Hitokiri Battousai
...
(Legendary Killer) at a Meiji Reformation era. The story is a typical shounen manga because the template of the story is a main character that wants to punch a bad guy in the face while doing that he met a bunch of friend that will help him facing his problems. So, what makes the story seems different? A template of bridging the story. That what makes this anime kinda unique if you realized that. In this part usually the story will be driven very slow and sometimes I wanna say the bridging is just not important at all, filled by Kenshin with friends take a walk and met a robber, a pickpocket even an ugly bastard who wants to sexually molesting girls. Approximately about halfway chapter when you got bored, there will be a big boss with some fresh problems and plots to follow. This formula or this template is used for total 94 episodes with 3 chapters. So just enjoy, no need to rush okay.
Art: 7
Honestly for talking about art section, I kinda confused and not so confident about it. But I will try to explain it. Nothing special about the art, because this anime is produced in 90’s and you must be known what type of the animation at that time. The panorama, background, details, is just looked like copy paste from photoshop, nothing can make it feels alive. When in the fighting scene is also nothing so special, usually Kenshin just used his sword to take a bad guy, fighting scene just monotone except when Kenshin is using his skills/jutsus.
Sound: 7
Hmm talking about sounds, of course I will talk about OST…
Start form OP theme. I enjoyed listening just about 2 OP themes which is “Sobakasu by JUDY AND MARY” and “½ by Makoto Kawamoto” these two is ear catching for me, even though the tempo is so slow and I wanna say there’s a part of the songs that off-tempo. But yeah I still like it though. The Sfx fits normally, but there’s a special sfx for killing people with sword, why would they use a punching sfx to be placed in a scene of killing people with sword LOL. BGM? No comments.
Characters: 8
Ok talking about characters, clearly the main character will be emphasized. Kenshin wasn’t just a Rurouni that have a trauma and bad memories about killing someone. He sometimes acts funny and clumsy, also the character will be placed in a slapstics situation for example: washing clothes, making a dinner, even fishing it’s like huh??.... You will find Kenshin in that situation a lot, while making a ridiculous face and makes a sound “Oro?!”. I find it funny and making the bridging part not that boring to watch. What about the side characters? I’m sorry for them, they’re just not important. ‘cause they always placed to defeat a low class enemy or maximal defeat a mini boss. The screentime is just too short, and after that? They’re just watching Kenshin fighting with the big boss. Main and Side characters was done, what else? Owh, The Antagonists. They’re have a more characteristic instead. Because of their role, their power or their influence, And their acts for me personally was more interesting than Kenshin and his friends.
Enjoyment: 7
For me the level of enjoyment is just average. Watching Rurouni Kenshin felt like read a manga with an animated motion. Once I’m in a good mood, I could watched 5 episodes straight. Especially the episodes is a lot and needed 2-3 bridging episodes. So I couldn’t stick with it for long. But it doesn’t mean that the anime is a bad anime, all of your boring will be payed up when Kenshin met the big boss, and you could see Kenshin using his sword, yeah it is so satisfying.
Overall: 7
I watched this anime just for my nostalgia because I can’t watch it full on TV 9-10 years ago. In the end I could say I like this anime, just like but not to the level I frickin’ love this anime. The plots will be not fit for you who normally watch an anime nowadays with great visual and fantastically plot set-up. Because Rurouni Kenshin is an anime that using a template in 90’s anime era. Last, I would say I Love Himura Kenshin with his Sakabattou Sword. And I wanna closed this review with a quote from Himura Kenshin “You can die at any time, but living takes true courage”.

The first time I heared about Kimetsu no Yaiba was from my friend. At that time I don’t really interested in nowadays anime. One thing I noticed about this anime was the premise of the story as same as usual Shounen Jump anime. Well at that time I really hate the Isekai type of anime, so I thought Kimetsu no Yaiba will be the same. Along the way I watched retro anime, Kimetsu no Yaiba is getting more popular, until I realize that everyone is watching Kimetsu no Yaiba now, what’s so good about this anime? Then I decided to watch this anime.
I placed my
...
expectation not too high for this anime, because this anime is so popular and I believe that everything that goes viral will be bad for me. Come to the first episode. The timeline is set to Sengoku Era (1493-1573) which is the time of the Samurai. I can feel it in the first episode, how the situation of Traditional Japan at that time. The premise is Kamado Tanjirou wants to save his lovely sister Kamado Nezuko who turns into Oni (Devil) that eats human to live. I could feel the spirit and the struggle that Tanjirou had to face. Ran down from the mountain while the snow rain is so heavy. Makes my heart felt so excited, The story itself contains struggle, darkness and sadness along the way Kamado Tanjirou did his main objective. Though the story is dark and intense, it won’t be perfect for the Shounen Jump if there’s no comedy. The comedy will be found after Tanjirou meets other people, made it really Shounen Jump type of Anime. Placed in perfect time for me personally because I’m so tired watching Kimetsu no Yaiba fight against Oni all the time. So the Comedy really saved their enjoyment of watching. Story developing is really fast, it felt like playing RPG game and you don’t realize that you have already at the Big Boss. Because of it, they’re often give a scene of Tanjirou’s training, I don’t know if it’s worked for you, but for me it was good that they’re noticed it.
Comes up to the art I noticed a lot of lighting setting. They make the ambience of the enviroments using it, for example on the first episode they use the blue color a lot, because the situation is snowy. I don’t know how their animator and editor works but when the lighting is placed on the dark environment, it will be very dark, I complained about this, because it is so bothering my experience of watching, color grading can be too dark or too bright. Until I realized that the use of dark lighting is to emphasize the effect of fighting. Not martial art but the effect of the Power. For example Blue for water technique of Tanjirou. The color is so strong and made my eyes follow the movement of the effect. In the dark place a little of bright will be brightest, yeah that happens in Kimetsu no Yaiba.

Having a bad day, or bored because of your work, let’s just forget about it, take your time, make coffee and chips with you and watch Heya Camp. Nadeshiko, Inuyama, and Oogaki will carry you to the most relaxing way of Yamanashi Prefecture. Story starts with these 3 countryside girls, came from their first anime “Yuru Camp”. Heya Camp came with only 3 minutes per episode, enjoying the view of Yamanashi while collecting Reli Stamp on a beautiful sites.
I kinda worry of this anime, because how come you can make a story in just 3 minutes, even though Yuru Camp is just Slice of Life
...
genre, but it’s important to make the story can’t be boring. So is the execution worked well? Yes. Amazingly Yes. It has main focus to just these 3 funny girls, I don’t have a less feeling about it, Wrapped up in simply way, just rumbling around with them and enjoying their typical comedy. Still have Yuru Camp characteristic which is Mount Fuji. Ahh~ Love it so much.
The art style in this anime, still consistent in all of its episodes. Onsen, Mount Fuji, Countryside Road, Yamanashi Prefecture, all colorized approach to the reality. I think they use a warm color, make our eyes enjoying the images.
Because it’s just 3 minutes anime, the decision to make the characters just focusing on these 3 is the best decision ever. We don’t have to worry about other character, we can focus on them collecting the stamps, and we can felt like we are collecting stamps too together with them.
Well I can’t breakdown it one by one, by all of their aspect, but what I can say is just relaxing.

Story: 10/10
Simple and Realistic. I think that’s the best way to define the story, Makoto Shinkai and his crew successfully bring the adaptation from manga to be an anime without missing the characteristic of the manga itself. The Story is split up to 3 Chapters, while each of the chapter has its own characteristic, problem and solution. Even though it’s just 3 Chapters, the story became very rich.
Art: 8/10
I think it won’t be that strange if you are often seen Makoto’s work, what I noticed first is he wants us to think seriously about what love really is, he used a dominant blue color for
...
the color grading, makes the situation more intense and deeper. Camera Movement to mention the specific action is also good, for example, when the character got late, he used ‘zoom’ along with the character run. It can be used for any simple situation too, like making eggs, drinking coffee, etc.
I want to mention a few specific things, Rain and Sky. In this anime these 2 elements aren’t that strong, according to Makoto’s new anime, such as: Your Name, Tenki no Ko and Kotonoha no Niwa. I don’t really like the color of the sky here, it looks mixed a lot of color, and seems inconsistent. The rain is also poor, I can notice the rain is just a line that got pasted and using keyframe to move it.
Music: 10/10
"One more time, one more chance" by Masayoshi Yamazaki fit in perfectly with the anime, the lyrics are used to represent what the story and what the character did. Very emotional and deep, I think I can cry while watch this anime and sing the song. Because the anime wants us to feel our emotions deeply, the BGM is here to support it, intense piano or relaxing jazz instrument along with the rain sound, it made my feelings so comfortable. Not just BGM and OST, I also want to mention the sound of natural condition in this anime such as: rain, ocean waves, the train, etc. I heard it and felt like my body is in there, very realistic. I just use my earphone and it’s so amazing. I can’t imagine what it feels when I watch it on cinema.
Characters: 10/10
Because the idea in this anime is so realistic, the characters are the most important to run it. Thankfully the cast is amazing. I can feel they act it with their emotion, it will be hard for them, realizing that they have to act it properly with just their sound. And they can do it perfectly. In this anime, They only have 3 main characters, I think that’s a good decision, because we can focus on the story without getting confused with a lot of characters. The screentime is just normal, not so dominant to the main characters yet don’t have to be worry about the side characters.
Enjoyment: 9/10
Yes the story is deep, but it got wrapped in a simple way. I think I enjoy this anime, all the 3 chapters on it. I would recommend it to watch it together with your girlfriend or wife, because you can share your emotion with it. The reason I can’t give a perfect score, is because the minor things in the art section, but the story is still okay to watch.
Overall: 9/10
Again and again, Makoto Shinkai made an amazing art, he always wants his viewer to cope their emotion, because he thinks that is the most important thing he wants us to enjoy his masterpiece. I agree with it, this story won’t be that realistic if the creator has not faced it in his real life situation. The execution with art, music and character gives us more enjoyment. With minor improvement more and more again, I believe we can see, what Makoto refer as his masterpiece and we can say to him, what his masterpiece in our eyes looks like.

Remember! We have Nadeshiko with her Innocent and Cute acts, Shima Rin with her coolness and relaxed face, Inuyama with “Her Big Assets” and Kansai-Ben (Osaka Accent), Oogaki with her glasses and humorist thing, and last but not least Shima Rin’s BFF “Saitou the Rich girl”.
I don’t see lots of differences thing, refers to the characters here. I don’t know why this OVA Episode is called “Special Episode”, I thought it will be that special, but what I can see is like they’re using this episode as shitposting or their pilot episode to test how the animation works. Yeah it’s just 5 minutes series
...
what do you expect?
Episode 1 -- The Situation before Nadeshiko joins the Outdoor Activity Club. Oogaki and Inuyama the formers of this club rumbling around, imagining how to make the best camp activities while they don’t have enough money to realize it. The Comedy helps a lot, as expected Yuru Camp is always relaxing. Art style honestly sucks, as I mentioned before it felt like this is their pilot episode to make sure how their animation works.
Episode 2 – Yeay, we have Nadeshiko. In This Episode as usual they just talking about Camping things and Doing stupid things remembering that they’re just have 3 members, nothing special, and the story is messed, the jokes are very thin, art still can’t be helped, yeah boring and make confused.
Episode 3 – Don’t want to spoil the story, but yeah this is the worst. Just watch it by yourself.
So, Can this OVA be called as “Yuru Camp Special”?, If you have read it until here, you can find the answer right, The conclusion is “Shitposting” and “Lazy” for the storyline, Art and Characters. For the other things like Comedy,Enjoyment, etc they are very subjective, but for me it’s not that “Special”.

Story: 6
Makoto is always coming up with the solution plot at the first scene, making it looks like puzzles and he makes us guess where the plot and the story will flow, slowly he started to tell the story and end up making us confused with his own choice. Yeah, interesting, but not this time, Tenki no Ko comes up with fast plot, jumping from one problem to another problem suddenly.
There are three problems that need to be solved, such as: Social life in Tokyo, Myth about Weather and Main Character’s Love Story. Look, these three main problems really have serious way to be
...
solved, and what happen when we mixed it all? Yes, Messed Up. They gave all the problem happened at the same time, so when you are still thinking about how they have to make money for their lives, it suddenly jumps to why the heroine got her power, with that they fall in love, after that where do we go now? The Power, Their Loves or Their Social Life? So Exhausting.
Art: 8
As Expected Shinkai Makoto, he really cares about the art. How the background affects the story, The Lighting, Camera Movement and Detailed drawing of the characters, it’s always his skill to set up the good lighting and background, I heard that he draws it first and then bring it to the photoshop for the finishing, I personally liked it, especially everything refers to water, such as: rain, sea, even Lemon Tea, it’s really beautiful.
How about the others? Of course, it’s a masterpiece too. Shibuya Crossing, Train, Rail, View of Tokyo from an eagle perspective, I liked it all. I’m not bored to mention this, The Lighting. Not just for bright light, the dark light is also made the situation more intense. Really satisfying.
Sound: 10
I really like this part, no more debate, Yamada Haru -san I really respect you. First, I want to talk about the BGM, you placed it amazingly fit into the situation, not only for whole scene, but also for simple screen time like light comedy, personally without that BGM, I believe the jokes won’t be that funny to hear. Everytime the scene became either happy or sad, I really felt it all along with that BGM.
Next, The OST. RADWIMPS again believed to have brought the OST, their song “Ai ni Dekiru Koto wa Mada Aru Kai?” fits perfectly in opening and ending scene, as expected Japanese Top Band (this is a very subjective opinion) can do. No more I can say to Yamada -san , he is the real Composer and Artist.
Character: 7
Speaking of Character, it always has a connection with the Voice Actor. I think there’s no big problem with the voice, it has their own portion and their own style, fits perfectly for every character, good job with this section.
The Screentime of other characters beside the main character is just OK, they have their own chemistry as what they expected to be, not too much. It all just Normal.
Enjoyment: 7
My face when comes the credit title was just Flat, and the first word I said was “Ah, That’s All?” yeah, it was just normal, not that amazed, not that disappointed, it all just ok. Because I know what to expect at the ending, a little bit confused about the plot but I can guess it easily. In my opinion, Tenki no Ko is just standard anime that got into the box office. That’s all.
Overall: 7
We got to this point, yeah, it was not so special, not so exciting remembering that Makoto Shinkai has a lot of pressure to make it looks like “Kimi no Nawa” yeah, that anime really ruins Makoto’s work, my personal recommendation to those of you who doesn’t watch Kimi no Nawa before, you can enjoy this anime, but for me who have watched Kimi no Nawa, yeah it makes Tenki no Ko just normal and a little bit boring. But I still like the art and the music that Makoto Shinkai puts his effort into, really when you got famous by one of your movie suddenly, it will became much harder to back to your style again, Good Luck for Makoto Shinkai, I’ll wait for your next “Art”.

Story: 10
Start with different perspective about how we look at School Enviroments such as: Teacher, Students and How the Education Worked. Great Teacher Onizuka comes up with Onizuka Eikichi, 22 Years old who had been a Leader of Japanese Gangster. See? How come someone like him can be a teacher, what will he gonna do?
Enough with serious points like perspective or premises, Great Teacher Onizuka brings Comedy too, Just basic anime comedy yet still enjoyable to watch. This anime brought a strong chemisty to the audience, especially myself that is a High school student, for me when Onizuka Sensei do something stupid with his students,
...
It feels like I am one of his student who together playing and just rumbling around my school. That was the plus point for Great Teacher Onizuka.
Art: 7
I dont really got annoyed or got satisfied with the art, considering that GTO was made in 2000, I thought that was the standard of Animation Art on that Era. Sometimes what annoyed me was the monotonacy of the art, there was not enough movement or frame added to the animation, so sometimes it would felt like Colorized Manga got cutted in every frame per second, Was that bothered my enjoyment? Well no. As i mentioned before, it was anime in 2000.
Sound: 7
Speaking of Sound, i wanna straight forward to the Opening & Ending Theme, Personally i only liked the First opening by "L'Arc en Ciel - Driver's High" because not only being a opening for this anime, but this OST really brought up the tension every time i want to watch GTO.
For the BGM, i dont really noticed effects or differences of my enjoyment when hearing it, Or maybe i could say normal.
Character: 7
The Voice Actor really fits the character, so there is no problem with that. But the screentime? Very Bad. As you can see on the Character Cast Above, there are lots of Main Character on this anime, but i could say only Onizuka Sensei is the Main Character. Their screentime is so messed up, when i thought he is the main character, he acts like side character, when i thought he is the side character, he ended up be a best partner for Onizuka Sensei. Like what? There is no consistency.
Enjoyment: 10
Besides all of that minus, i still enjoy this anime, not just the story but also the comedy, I would say this anime will fit your sunday morning, following the stupid things to solve very serious problem that Onizuka Sensei and his students did is really entertaining.
Overall: 10
I would recommend this anime to all of you who want to watch retro anime, it comes up with simple storyline and also simple comedy in every episodes. Even though its still follow the comic art style, it doesnt make my excitement for this anime down. Onizuka Sensei and his students really helped me to think about how we see learning and school. It doesn't always serious and intense, together we can make it fun.
