Pop Team Epic seems to be the type of anime (or manga) that people either love or hate, so I was surprised to find myself impartial.
None of the jokes and punchlines really made me laugh, although they did manage to wrangle a few smiles out of me. At the same time, I wasn't bored, and I had no problems watching to the end of the anime. I've never really got black humour and non-sequitur humour and after watching this, I can safely say that it's not the style of humour I enjoy.
At the same time, I don't regret watching it. It has a
...
really interesting format and it's something I've never seen before. If you have some time to kill, I'd definitely recommend giving it a go, because there are some pretty cool segments. It was also fun picking out all the pop references!

If you're looking for an anime with a riveting plot and/or characters, I suggest you turn right around and look somewhere else.
Amagi Brilliant Park is another anime from KyoAni, and while I can't say it was terrible, it did little to stand out from any other title this season. It seems to have a little of some things, but they never went all the way. Take, for example, the romance. Although it was heavily implied, nothing actually happened. Comedy... passable, but I've seen better. The story and plot were fairly interesting. A broke and failing park that needs to reach a certain quota to
...
stay afloat, and of course fantasy is mixed into all of it. Personally, I think it would've been more interesting if there wasn't magic, seeing as the main reason they included it was for Latifa and her situation.
This brings me to the characters. Mediocre, at best. I had high hopes for them from watching the first episode. I absolutely fell in love with Kanie and his narcissistic personality. I was even hoping to see more into his backstory, but that didn't really happen as well as I thought. In fact, I believe the reason so many characters had such little background to them was due to the story trying to focus on all of them at once and then failing to explore deeply enough.
Art, as per usual, was wonderful. The opening was wonderfully preppy and cherry, something that was reflected in the anime most of the time. The ending was a fair bit calmer, but still good.
As a last note, one things that especially irritated me was how they took the last episode and made it a filler. The anime should've ended at episode 12. It was not only the climax of the events occuring before it, but it ended on a open and positive note. It was perfect. In fact, just after watching it I was confused as to why there was 13 episodes listed. And then I watched episode 12. It contributed nothing to the storyline other than "a day in their life" after the climax. Very disappointing.
tl;dr: Want something complex and interesting? This isn't the anime for you. If you're simply looking for something to pass the time, go ahead and watch it!

The first thing I'm going to say is: throw all your assumptions out the window and stomp on them a bit. Then look at it, and you might be a bit closer to what this anime's really about.
I'm assuming most people probably don't look at the tags. If you haven't, I highly suggest you go look at them. Guess what it says? That's right. Shounen. This anime is not, despite it's generic shoujo summary and art, a shoujo anime. It is probably the complete opposite of it, in fact.
The story starts with Sakura Chiyo, a girl who confesses to her crush. He mistakes
...
her intentions and assumes she's a fan of his manga work, because the truth is, he's actually a manga artist. So she inadvertently becomes his assistant, and this is where the story begins. If you're looking for a story, this anime doesn't have one. It's story is episodic in manner, with new and different events happening in each episode. This isn't unusual for a comedy anime, and it's in this way that we can appreciate the full effect of the jokes and set ups.
One thing I'd like to address is the romance. I realize that romance is also listed as a genre, but really, it's probably pretty low in importance in the anime. It's pretty much non-existent. Usually it's only brought up as a cause of humorous misunderstandings, or the cause of a joke. So if you're watching simply for the romance, I wouldn't waste your time.
And of course, we have to address the characters. Ah yes, the stars of the show. You know the piece of advice I gave at the beginning of the review? Do it again. The characters are as far from every shoujo trope you can think of. The actions between them, and their relationships are simply brilliant. We have about seven main characters, each with their own unique characteristics and personalities. There's Sakura, the protaganist. She's a bit dreamy and off in the clouds sometimes, but also very down to earth. She actually acts as the "straight man" a majority of the time. There's her crush, Nozaki, who's extremely, extremely dense and oblivious to anything remotely romantic, despite being a shoujo manga artist. Then there's Mikoshiba, introduced later on, the standard "cool" guy. Except, he's actually a delicate, sensible, and easily embarrassed by his own words. Kashima, the school prince, in actuality is a girl who all the girl's like. Hori, the violent senpai. Wakamatsu, the innocent kouhai. And Seo, completely oblivious.
These characters and their interactions are what make the show so enjoyable. I'd be surprised if you aren't able to find a favourite. I'd be even more surprised if there was someone you hated. There wasn't a single episode in which I wasn't giggling and smiling like an idiot at. Being a comedic anime, there isn't much development, but that's usually to be expected.
The opening of this anime is an extremely catchy song that definitely suits the mood. You'll find yourself humming along with it before long. I didn't really like it at first, but it grew on me. The ending is no less catchy, but a little more calm. OST's were fine.
The animation of this anime was very nice! I also rather liked the clean cut art and the bright colours. Both of these aspects suited the anime nicely! Overall, this anime was my favourite, and a definite highlight of the Summer 2014 anime list.

Kami-sama no Inai Nichiyoubi is one anime that immediately caught my eye. The description was intriguing and the art was pretty good, and so, I immediately started watching.
Story:
If I had to describe it in one sentence, it would be: it didn't live up to what it could be. This pretty much stems from the story. At first glance, the premise shows so much promise. A world where "God" abandoned the world, and therefore no one can die or give birth. From here, we have our protagonist, Ai, have everyone in her village slaughtered and then subsequently go on an adventure to save the world.
...
Here's the first problem: what exactly is she doing? "If God abandoned this world... then I'll save it," is what she says, but it's never really clear /how/ she's going to achieve it. In fact, there are so many side stories and deviations from the main story that we never actually get to it. For a 12 episode anime, the pacing is pretty terrible. It jumps from side story to side story with little transition.
So, while the stories were interesting in their own right, we never actually get to the point, which is rather annoying.
The second problem stems from the premise. We're told "God" is the one who abandoned this world, and then later discover that it might not even be true. So is there even a God? If there isn't, then how in the world did the world become like that?
It's questions like these where the answer is "that's just how it is" that makes the storytelling so bad. There are so many little things that don't make sense either, and so many plot holes that are left unresolved.
Art:
The art was beautiful, I loved it! The scenery was detailed and calming, and there are some really nice shots of the world they live in. The character designs were really nice too - they were all pretty unique. I especially loved the design for Humpnie Humbert.
There were some shots of the characters where I thought their hair was clunky and/weird. This especially applied to Alice/Alis, who I sometimes thought had way too much hair for his character.
Sound:
Both the opening and the ending sounds suited the anime well. They were calming and the lyrics just matched perfectly. There were soothing OST's that went with the tone, and so, I have no complaints in this department.
Character:
I really liked them, even in the short time that they were here. Although, that being said, I don't think enough of them got good characterizations, because the "plot" simply moved too fast past them to be sure. In the anime, There were about three or four arcs, and each had their own cast of characters. With the anime being as long as it is, that means about 2/3 episodes for each of those characters in that arc before it moves it.
And so, there wasn't nearly enough characterization to be done on them.
What I'm really mad at is Humpnie Humbert. Being in the description and the cover art, I thought he was going to be important. Turns out, I was wrong. I really liked him as well, and he has such a unique personality that I wanted to see him more.
Talk about misleading. And disappointing.
One other thing before I close this review is the language in the anime. It's so... inconsistent. Even their names seems to be very odd mix of Japanese, French, and Russian, I think. And the written language is French. I don't know what they were trying to do here, but I think they should've just stuck to one language.

Being a single episode anime obviously has its limits, and this anime was no exception to the rule. However, when compared the the other three anime in Anime Mirai 2013, I definitely feel that this one fell short.
My biggest problem with this anime stemmed from the story itself. Personally, I felt it was very disjointed. Although I get that there was a large time skip in between scenes, it just seemed too abrupt and not as connected as it should. Another problem I had with the story is that I just didn't comprehend it as well as I think I should have. This probably
...
stems from the fact that I know nothing about Japanese history, however, I believe this should have been put in mind when this anime was being created. There are many non-Japanese viewers, and I could barely follow the storyline.
The characters were something else. There wasn't much characterization, and Ryo's character felt a bit flat to me. By the end of it, I felt short changed.
Art and Sound were alright. This whole anime wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special. It was simply mediocre.

Now, I haven't watched this anime in a while so I probably won't be able to accurately desrcibe things like sound and flashbacks or whatever. Vaguely though, I can remember that I liked the manga better.
Characters:
This may be a bit biased because I've watched Cardcaptor Sakura and read the manga before watching Tsubasa, but to me, the characters seemed a bit flat. I mean, take Sakura for example. I know that she's lost her memories and everything but for the most part, she was pretty much useless and dead weight. She was the 'damsel in distress' that requires saving almost every single
...
time. And that brings me to my next point: Syaoran. Overall, he was okay, albeit a bit dull, but his whole thought process through the series was 'Sakura, Sakura, Sakura'. Sakura everything pretty much. I understand that he loves her because they're childhood friends, but that's a bit overexaggerating everything. I thought it would be better if he had more of a personality. In comparison, the Sakura and Syaoran in CCS were much better. Sakura actually helped fight, made mistakes, and triumphed in the end while Syaoran initially hated her and grew to love her after watching her. Fai and Kurogane were okay. They were completely new characters and it was interesting to see them interact with each other and bring some comic relief to the story.
Plot:
The plot ended up being a bit repetitive, in my opinion. It was usually the same... travel to a new world, fight monsters, get feather, move on. In addition, there were a bunch of filler episodes throughout the seasons. Some of them were pretty good, like episode 37 which had me clutching my stomach the whole entire time, but in general, they just made the whole series waaayy longer than it should've been. That alone might've made me stop watching (because I hate watchig super long animes) but because I loved the manga and CLAMP, I decided to keep going. Again, I haven't watched this recently so I could be slightly mistaken.
Sound:
I don't really know about the soundtrack, but a lot of people keep saying how it's repetitive. I do know that the music by Yuki Kajura was absolutely amazing though! For example, I have Break the Sword of Justice downloaded on my ipod. The seiyuu's were pretty good too.
Art:
Like most CLAMP works, the art was good. It was a bit on the simple side however. The one thing that kind of got to me slightly was that the limbs were really long an lanky. Once you get over that though, you can enjoy the anime better.
Overall:
Overall, I enjoyed this anime. I do not hate this anime even though it seems like I do from my review. I did watch it when I was younger though so I don't know what my reaction would be if I watched it now. If you have the patience to struggle through some filler and added episodes, then I suggest you watch it.

The first thing that caught my eye on this anime was that it was by CLAMP. So, naturally, I expected it to be good.
Kobato was a wonderful anime and heart-warming too. At first, we know next to nothing about Kobato which prompts you to watch more. In the beginning of the anime, the theme is light-hearted and a bit of comedy (I know I laughed a lot just in the first episode). But near the bottom half of the anime, the plot develops more.
And in the last episode, I cried :) This was an anime I really enjoyed watching not only for
...
it's art; but also the story, characters, and plot.

Cardcaptor Sakura was an anime/manga that I really enjoyed watching. It seemes as if this was originally meant for younger audiences but it's clear that all age groups can ejoy this anime.
Typically, it is a magical girl anime but it also concentrates on her school life and there's a bit of comedy involved too. And even though CCS was a long anime (to me), CLAMP made every episode interesting and there were rarely any filter episodes.
Cardcaptor sakura is one of my favorite animes and I have already watched this series many times before.
