Been holding this one off for a long time, and I wasn't sure what to think of this when I started, but despite original conceptions of the series, I find it thoroughly enjoyable. My original thoughts were that all the characters seemed waaaay too happy and lighthearted for what they were doing. I believed their reactions to be unrealistic, however, I don't think this is a series that focusses on such realism, which is fine! I had to drop this series at about episode 8 or so. The pacing is beyond awful, with it being made alongside the manga, there is just constant filler of stuff I really don't care about. To be honest it is a shame because I'm a big Shonen fan and I like the premise behind this series, the whole different mage groupings is a concept I like, and Asta has a clear goal of what he wants to achieve (Which comes off a bit too clearly to the point of gaining a headache due to his voice).

I cannot express enough how immensely happy this series makes me feel every time I watch it.
There is no element to this series that I can possibly critique without greatly questioning my judgement, it's all EPIC. The series pushes the boundaries of what it means to make an 'over the top' Shonen anime and does so with a finesse that you rarely see anywhere else in anime. These outstanding visuals help in conveying such a dramatic and invigorating story, with not to mention a totally 10/10 art style.
