***THIS IS A POORLY COPIED VERSION OF CLAYMORE'S BASIC PLOT***
The WHOLE DAMN PLOT is copied. Anyone who has seen Claymore can EASILY see this. The ppl behind this copied everything down, even at some points, to character personalities!
So im not going to go in a lot of detail since its easy to see the flaming obvious plagiarism.
Let me break it down.
Main plot that was copied:
Nova = Youma
...
Pandora mode = Yoki release mode
Main heroin got her power the same way
An organization doing experiments to create warriors
only females can become warriors thru implants
Copied characters/personalities:
No. 2, elizabeth mably of Year 3 = No. 2, Irene, from 77th claymore generation
No. 1, Chiffon "The Unmatched Smiling Monster" Fairchild = No. 1 of the 77th generation Teresa of the Faint Smile (called a "monster" as well)
Differences:
Cheap ecchi
immaturity
romantic touch
fail comedy
other slight modifications to characters and plot to make it look more like ur typical cheap ecchi, fail comedy shounen anime.
Highly NOT RECOMMENDED for ppl seeking true action with a seinen plot. the manga tags said its seinen but it AINT.its ur average cheap shounen show.

Minami-ke:
Its basically a slice of life, comedy anime. Very chill.
General Plot/Story:
There is no overall plot or goal. No plot arcs. Just shows how 3 sisters live together in their apartment, go to school and have fun with their friends. Strictly episodic. In fact, each episode is kinda segmented too; dealing with a specific story. Story-wise its similar to Azumanga Diaoh. The only difference is that in Minami-ke, the minamis interact as a family whereas in AD its all about friends. Never felt the story dragged.
Slice-of-life-ness:
The slice-of-life part is done very well. Like very, very well. You know how many animes have the typical 'school
...
opening part' --> 'kareesames (Christmas) party' --> 'sports fest' --> 'field trip' --> 'emotional part (love confession etc)'. Well minami-ke doesn't do that. It does something a bit different. To me, i felt like, instead of understanding the characters based on their reactions to events, we get to know characters by their direct interaction with each other.
The comedy:
The comedy is quite subtle mostly. There is less of the ridiculous-looking, exaggerated faces expressing emotion. Less of the screaming, silly poses. Basically its less slapstick in nature. It adds to the slice-of-life effect.
Characters:
In my opinion, they were very well performed. There were a few surprises here and there which didn't make them seem robotic. Personalities are easily distinguishable without falling into common stereotypical types. So its not like we have a dumbass, a smartass, a disgusting ass (?), the well-endowed ass, the handsome ass, the mature ass, the average ass....u get my point, right?
The variety of characters was also pleasantly surprising. The 3 minami sisters complement each other very well without developing a strict, rigid, 2D personality each.
Soundtrack:
Slow, soothing, matches anime genre. OP songs are awesome! My fav were 1st and 3rd. Note: 2nd season OP is supposed to be a parody of the serious slice-of-life types. Many ppl didn't understand tht and started hating on it.
Overall:
Very chill anime, nothing too exciting. Gives off an easy going feeling. Excellent for those who hate cliffhangers. Non-stereotypical characters. Main characters have some personality depth and are not like robots. Comedy is subtle and the not in-your-face kind.
p.s= kana is boss :P lookout for the famous, pink t-shirt xD

This manga follows the life of a man after he loses his house and his job, ending up having to live in a run-down house. In fact he feels so sad that he even contemplates on commiting suicide. However, in the new run-down house he is in now, he meets Kana. A girl ghost which changes his outlook on life.
The story is told in first person, mostly from the man's perspective, sometimes from Kana's perspective and sometimes from the perspectives of other character in the story. The story is very simple, sweet and beautiful. Nothing too complicated, no harem, no stupid love triangles, no gender benders,
...
no overly dramatic situations or awkward/wimpy acting on part of the characters. Just how two people live together everyday. Almost each chapter has its own short-story.
Now this manga contains several ecchi scenes but they are gracefully executed (compared to other similar mangas) and this blends in with the romance element fairly well. Nothing like the cheap fan service you would get from your typical ecchi/shounen manga. Also, don't think you'll get the same disgusting stuff that you get from your average hentai.
Characters are pretty decent. Each have a nice personality which remains pretty consistent throughout the manga. Steady character development is present and nothing seems rushed.
The art is good too, a bit different from your average look. I personally liked it, especially how the mangaka drew Kana: who looks very appropriately drawn, fitting her character/personality perfectly.
Overall, I found it to be better than the others in its genre. The slow pace and calm setting was a breath of fresh air from your average "OMG! he did this, she did that" kind of romance manga and this was exactly what I was seeking. The relationship between the main characters is relatively well-developed and leaves you feeling peaceful after each chapter. I liked it so much that I avoided reading the last 2 chapters for 10 months just so that it wouldn't end soon.
Read it if you're looking for something different; calming, slice of life-ish in a romance manga. Definitely a 10 as it simply out-shines its competitors in the sea of romance mangas that we see today.

_____THE PLOT_____
Ive read other romance, comedy, school type mangas and they end up being clichéd. They use the SAME old formula, having the sports day, christmas party, bake-sale, festival and field trip mini-arcs. Well, onidere is a bit different. It doesn't focus on those solely. Also, onidere has no classroom scenes. So its different. It basically centred on scenes outside the classroom e.g on the rooftop.
Most of the manga consists of mini-arcs which show:
How Saya and Tadashi deal with a certain situation
How 2 other specific characters interact with each other
The weird adventures of Saya, Tadashi and gang
The romance isn't the major part of the
...
manga. The romance just provides a plot and then the comedy ensues. There aren't many heavy romance scenes. However, the mangaka is consistent and you DO get a sense of direction and the feeling that the story is progressing. Its not as if the story is stuck on a certain stage at some point. It keeps flowing.
The one thing that stands out are the fresh scenarios. I would say that very little of the story is similar to your mainstream comedy, romance, school types.
_____THE COMEDY_____
Its mainly slapstick comedy with a lot of gags. Some people can find that as repetitive and get bored but some may laugh on the gag each time. I'll tell you this, DON'T read like 20 chapters in a day because it WILL get boring. Mo
_____THE CHARACTERS_____
There isn't much character development. There are some changes in Yuna, Saya and Tadashi but everyone else pretty much remains the same. This is not a bad thing because i found everyone funny and didn't want them to change.
We also get introduced to a fair amount of other funny characters e.g Tadashi's mom who forms and alliance with someone in Saya's gang.
_____THE ART_____
Its slightly different, not your traditional type. Some people have complained that the mangaka was lazy but i kinda liked the new style.
_____MY IMPRESSION OF IT_____
Its hilariously funny once u get used to it. I found it fresh and felt how I felt like when I watched School Rumble, the only difference was that Onidere keeps the romance in the story flowing. School Rumble has virtually no progression in romance. Onidere's logic gets ridiculous at times.....but in a funny and exciting way! :D It will seem to drag a bit for the first 5-15 chapters but I promise that it picks up its pace after that. But then again, we find this problem with many other mangas too because we need to be properly introduced to the characters.
So read 5-10 chapters, give it a shot and see if you like it! :D

The story is pretty simple and one can easily guess wat will happen in the end but this anime's strong point is the way it takes you from the beginning to the end. There a lot of interesting character and all of them are very well developed so you will never feel that something is out of place at any point. Main characters are very lively and each have their own dreams, destinities, likes, dislikes.
The comedy is only reason why i thought of giving this anime a try after I saw the first episode. Seriously, people, the comedy is soooooo damn funny!! Each character has
...
their own way of making u laugh. They kick off the first episode with a really tight gag. The ending and middle parts also contain little tidbits to keep u laughing.
Finally, the soundtrack is extremely well-suited to the anime, u get the right music at the right moment. Also, each character has their own theme songs which are really catchy and match them perfectly.
However, anime stops at ep 51 when it cud have gone longer (manga still ongoing). The ending gave me a let-down feeling because it was really really mushy. They might had have pulled off a better job with the filler ending but i think they got sloppy in the last episode.
Overall, I wud like to say that if u r a fan of action, adventure, comedy, supernatural anime, then this anime is a must-watch for you !!!
