It was already exciting when Mari Okada & Juinchi Satoh decided to do a Shoujo magical film together. And the end result became great. It can potentially be viewed as a breakthrough for Studio Colorido. While the film is essentially a coming of age story of two junior high students, it brings the magical charm and storytelling of a Ghibli movie, all paired with the cuteness of cats with a beautiful slice of life vibe. The plot, while simple and easy to follow, evokes big emotions and depicts the struggles of the protagonists quite well. ____
The only critique might be that the story is all too predictable and

there are plenty of hints where it will go,some parts might feel slightly too slow paced for some, bt well this does not diminish the experience though, especially since the art is just gorgeous to look at and the animation is buttery smooth with well written story leading to a clear ending finale.
And at the end of the day I think I believe the one of the message from the writer was that we should be honest with how we feel, because that seems to be the only way for us to be happy and have a better understanding of who we are 'cause no matter what you do in this world, someone will have an opinion about it. Just remember that everyone is entitled to have their own opinion and you don’t have to accept someone else’s opinion as your own.
When you start doing things for yourself there is always someone that has something to say about it. Let them have their opinions because imposing opinions on other people is a sign of fear.
If you continue to let the world tell you who you should be and how you should live your life, then eventually you’ll be living a life that isn’t your own. You’ll think, act, and behave in accordance with how society expects you too.
Let people have their opinions and don’t let them interfere with how you live your life, especially if those opinions are negative and pulling you down. The risk-takers and dreams are the people who have made this world a better place. __
I also loved the fact that how the adult cats wanted to let younger audience know that you're young and you shouldn't waste your time overthinking too much and if you do, just do not dwell, because you will end up running away like the rest of us adult cats, especially if you see the opportunity to change.
You're young, you still have a choice to change, even if you feel like it's impossible, the only person stopping you really is, just you. If you can be honest with yourself, it will help others understand what you want, thus they can do their best to help you or at least they can help by cheering you on. It helps makes the path clear for you and others.
and it's okay to run away, just make sure you face yourself and over come your fears and in then end we're all trying our best.
Voice actors have also done a great job. They've brought life to the line in every characters.
